  • Patent number: 10586466
Abstract: A method for teaching a person, such as a child, to read aloud is disclosed. The method is implemented as a voice activated, visual software application that provides a visual display of a story as the person reads the words of the story. The method provides pronunciation assistance to the person, which in the software includes a simulated “teacher” that helps the person with assistance in reading the story. The method progresses through a sequence of story passages which together represent the entire story. The method progresses to each story passage upon successful completion of the current story passage by the person reading the story, such that the method will not allow the visual story to progress for the reader if a word is not read correctly out loud.

  • Patent number: 10582036
Abstract: Exemplary embodiments relate to techniques for sending ephemeral content messages via a communications service. An interface may be presented to allow a user to initially access ephemeral content functionality and select content for inclusion in the ephemeral content message. The interface may present a streamlined set of use cases without regard to the manner in which the content was initially captured. Different types of content may be used as ephemeral content, including images, videos, weather reports, news stories, text, audio recordings, location tags, etc. The ephemeral content may be sent through the communications service as an end-to-end encrypted message. When a user replies to an ephemeral content message, the reply may trigger a one-to-one conversation between the originating user and the replying user. Alternatively, an ephemeral content message may be initially sent to a selected group, and replies may be sent back to the entire group.

  • Patent number: 10582053
Abstract: A gateway device includes a call handling equipment (CHE) listener interface, an Internet Protocol (IP) interface, a provisioning engine, and a message parsing engine. The CPE listener interface forms a communication channel with a CHE and receives call event data from the CHE. The IP interface communicates with a cloud-based processing system. The provisioning engine receives, from the cloud-based processing system via the IP interface, instructions for parsing data from a data output format of the CHE into a consistent data format of the cloud-based processing system. The message parsing engine parses the call event data received from the CHE via the CHE listener interface, and formats the call event data according to the consistent data format. The gateway device transmits the formatted call event data to the cloud-based processing system via the IP interface.

  • Patent number: 10565981
Abstract: At least some embodiments described herein relate to computer-assisted conversation. The set of available conversation segments is updated by addressing conversation segments at the granularity of a conversation segment or a group of conversation segments. For instance, an entire class of conversation segments may be addressed to add, delete, turn on, or turn off, the class of conversation segments. Groups of class of conversation segments may also be similarly addressed. Thus, as the scope of a conversation changes, the available set of conversation segments may likewise change with fine-grained control. Accordingly, rather than pre-plan every set of possible conversations, the context and direction of the conversation may be evaluated by code to thereby determine what new sets of conversation segments should be added, deleted, turned on, or turned off. New conversation segments may even be generated dynamically, taking into account the values of parameters that then exist.

Abstract: Systems, methods, devices, and other techniques are described herein for determining dialog states that correspond to voice inputs and for biasing a language model based on the determined dialog states. In some implementations, a method includes receiving, at a computing system, audio data that indicates a voice input and determining a particular dialog state, from among a plurality of dialog states, which corresponds to the voice input. A set of n-grams can be identified that are associated with the particular dialog state that corresponds to the voice input. In response to identifying the set of n-grams that are associated with the particular dialog state that corresponds to the voice input, a language model can be biased by adjusting probability scores that the language model indicates for n-grams in the set of n-grams. The voice input can be transcribed using the adjusted language model.

The system can also determine a priority level for the user based on the score and based on a profile of the user and determine where to place the user in a queue for the support agent.

Abstract: A server device receives, from a user device, a session initiation request and information identifying a location of the user device, and receives, from a monitoring device that is separate from the user device, an authentication request and information identifying a location of the monitoring device. The server device processes the session initiation request and the authentication request to authenticate a user of the user device, and determines, based on the location of the user device and the location of the monitoring device, that the user device and the monitoring device are collocated. The server device creates, after authenticating the user of the user device and determining that user device and the monitoring device are collocated, a session token, and sends the session token to the user device to enable the user device to access at least one resource of the server device.

Abstract: The present invention is directed towards systems and methods for querying a data repository using a flexible natural language interface, which comprises receiving an initiated user question at a graphical user interface and generating automatically one or more suggested completed questions in response to the receipt of the initiated user question. A selected completed question at the graphical user interface is received and subsequently parsed into a logic representation. The logic representation is translated into an executable query, which is executed against the data repository. One or more search results in response to the executed translated query and presented at the graphical user interface. The present invention further comprises generating one or more analytic results corresponding to the one or more search responsive to the translated query.
