  • Patent number: 10027799
Abstract: Embodiments are provided for the automatic real-time recording and processing of media in a communications network based on the context of the media. In one embodiment, a media stream is received in an analysis module in a service platform in the communications network. The media stream may represent a communication session between a calling party and a call center in the network. The incoming media steam is analyzed to identify words comprising a context of the communication session. A determination is then made as to whether the context of the communication session is related to a set of business rules associated with the service platform which may automatically trigger the retention of a recording of the communication session. If the context of the communication session is related to the set of business rules, the retention of the communication session is automatically triggered in real-time at a recording module.

The named entities may be obtained from one or more sources and include an initial list of named entities. A search may be performed within one or more search engines to determine common phrases that are used to identify the named entity in addition to the named entity initially included in the named entity list. Click logs associated with results of past searches are automatically mined to discover what phrases determined from the searches are candidate variations for the named entity. The candidate variations are scored to assist in determining the variations to include within an understanding model. The variations may also be used when delivering responses and displayed output in the SLU system. • Patent number: 9858931
Abstract: Systems and methods for analyzing digital recordings of the human voice in order to find characteristics unique to an individual. A biometrics engine may use an analytics service in a contact center to supply audio streams based on configured rules and providers for biometric detection. The analytics service may provide call audio data and attributes to connected engines based on a provider-set of selection rules. The connected providers send call audio data and attributes through the analytics service. The engines are notified when a new call is available for processing and can then retrieve chunks of audio data and call attributes by polling an analytics service interface. A mathematical model of the human vocal tract in the call audio data is created and/or matched against existing models. The result is analogous to a fingerprint, i.e., a pattern unique to an individual to within some level of probability.

Abstract: In one example, documents that are examined by a search process may be scored in a manner that is specific to a domain. A domain may be a substantive area, such as medicine, sports, etc. Different scoring approaches that take aspects of the domain into account may be applied to the documents, thereby producing different scores than might have been produced by a simple comparison of the terms in the query with the terms in the documents. These domain-based approaches may take a query into account in scoring the documents, or may be query-independent. Each approach may be implemented by a scorer. The combined output of the scorers may be used to generate a score for each document. Documents then may be ranked based on the scores, and search results may be provided.

A system practicing the method identifies idle speech recognition resources and establishes a supplemental speech recognizer on the idle resources based on overall speech recognition demand. The supplemental speech recognizer can differ from a main speech recognizer, and, along with the main speech recognizer, can be associated with a particular speaker. The system performs speech recognition on speech received from the particular speaker in parallel with the main speech recognizer and the supplemental speech recognizer and combines results from the main and supplemental speech recognizer. The system recognizes the received speech based on the combined results. The system can use beam adjustment in place of or in combination with a supplemental speech recognizer.

Abstract: A system and method for authenticating a candidate user accessing a host computing device as an authentic user is provided. The host computing device is in communication with an authenticating computing device. The method includes receiving, by the authenticating computing device, a request to authenticate the candidate user as an authentic user. The authentication request includes a user identifier. The method also includes retrieving, by the authenticating computing device, transaction data including payment transactions performed by the authentic user based on the user identifier. The method also includes generating, by the authenticating computing device, a challenge question and a correct answer based on the transaction data associated with the authentic user, and transmitting the challenge question for display on a candidate user computing device used by the candidate user.

  • Patent number: 9401140
Abstract: An unsupervised acoustic modeling service for speech recognition is disclosed. A computing device may be present in a listening zone, such as a household or office, and may receive an audio signal that may include speech. In some instances, the speech is not directed to the computing device. Speech recognition results may be generated from the audio signal, using an acoustic model, and the results used to update the acoustic model. For example, the acoustic model may be updated to reflect a particular speaker's pronunciation of certain sound units, such as phonemes. By using speech that is not necessarily directed to the computing device, more data may be available for updating an acoustic model.

Abstract: A method is provided for a dynamic trust score for evaluating ongoing online relationships. By considering a plurality of user data variables and using validation data from internal and external database sources, a trust score with a high degree of confidence may be provided for establishing and verifying online relationships. Since the trust score may be dynamically recalculated periodically or on demand, the trust score may also validate over continuing periods of time, as opposed to conventional verification systems that only validate at a single point in time. Thus, a higher degree of safety, reliability, and control is provided for online services directed towards children or other user classes that may require greater protection.

Abstract: Systems and methods for recycling contact numbers are presented. A service provider receives a disconnect request for a device associated with a contact number. The system retrieves and stores the device's contact list and/or communication history. One or more messages are created and stored. The contact number is placed in a pool of recycled numbers and mapped to the stored information, and may later be assigned to a second device. Subsequently, when a call is made over the service provider's network, the called number is compared with numbers in the pool. If a match is found, the system retrieves the stored contact list and/or communication history, and compares the calling number to numbers in the contact list and/or communication history. If a match is found, the system retrieves and plays the message to inform the calling party that the number they are trying to reach has been re-assigned.

Abstract: A method and system for authenticating a user seeking access to a secured system in a public area. Access is granted when a user demonstrates sufficient knowledge of the user's personal characteristics stored in the system. The user initiates the access process by tapping into the stored characteristics without overtly stating information that may be overheard. The user statements reflect an awareness about the categories of user uniqueness without divulging details. The system response statements act to elicit further information from the user for response and the response statements are scored. After a cumulative score threshold is met, the user is granted access.
