  • Patent number: 9427747
Abstract: A centrifugal separator comprises a frame, a spindle and centrifuge rotor on the spindle. The centrifuge rotor comprises a rotor casing, which forms an inner separation space, an inlet for supply of a fluid and an outlet for discharge of a separated component. An electrical drive motor having a stator and a rotor drives the spindle and the centrifuge rotor. The rotor of the drive motor is supported by a first bearing and second bearing. A coupling member connects the rotor of the drive motor and the spindle for transmitting a rotary movement. A third bearing supports the spindle so that it is radially elastic in relation to the frame for transmitting a first part of radial forces between the spindle and the frame. The coupling member comprises a lamella coupling or a universal coupling, and transmits a second part of the radial forces, which exists between the spindle and the frame, to the frame via the rotor of the drive motor and at least one of the first and the second bearing.

  • Patent number: 8764516
Abstract: A hand held machine for grinding and like operations, includes a housing, a motor mounted in the housing and which rotates an axle connected to a tool carrying mechanism, and a front bearing arrangement provided between the housing and the axle, including a front bearing, and a vibration insulator which is resilient to radial displacement of the axle. The vibration insulator includes at least one resilient element located between the housing and the front bearing. The machine further includes an adjustment mechanism interacting with the at least one resilient element for adjustment of the resilience of the resilient element.

  • Patent number: 7815373
Abstract: A symmetric ultra-precision spindle design in which all forces of constraint are, within the tolerances of manufacturing and assembly processes, symmetrically arranged about its axis. Additionally this design may require little or no external power other than the forces to rotate the spindle.

  • Publication number: 20100014792
Abstract: A ring bearing assembly for an automotive suspension strut assembly. The ring bearing assembly includes an annular bearing having a lower housing member that functions as an integral spring seat for the suspension's coil spring. An isolator is molded to the spring seat as an integral component with a groove or other mechanical retention feature being used to help maintain the isolator in place and prevent it from working itself out of position over time during vehicle use.

  • Patent number: 6648200
Abstract: In the case of a magnetic-tape apparatus (1) and/or in the case of a pressure-roller unit (65), a pressure-roller spindle (55) and a bearing part (60), which surrounds the pressure-roller spindle (55) and can be rotated relative to the pressure-roller spindle (55), for rotatably bearing a pressure roller (29) are provided. The bearing part (60) having a first bearing surface (63) which is formed by a toroidal surface and cooperates with a second bearing surface (64) likewise formed by a toroidal surface. The two bearing surfaces (63, 64) formed in each case by a toroidal surface permitting a wobbling movement of the pressure roller (29), and the two bearing surfaces (63, 64) being held lying against one another without play, and of these two bearing surfaces (63, 64) at least one bearing surface (63) being provided in a compliant fashion in radial directions relative to the other bearing surface (64).

  • Patent number: 5567138
Abstract: A method for limiting eccentric deviations of a rotating polished rod which extends through a stuffing box in a downhole rotary pumping application. The method includes the step of positioning below the stuffing box at least two centralizing members having arcuate contact surfaces that engage the rotating polished rod to dampen eccentric deviations. According to another aspect of the present invention there is provided an apparatus having a housing with a central polished rod receiving passage. At least two centralizing members extend radially inwardly into the central polished rod receiving passage to engage a rotating polished rod positioned in the central polished rod receiving passage.

  • Patent number: 5090822
Abstract: An improved bearing arrangement for a high-speed, preferably vertical, shaft having a bearing body which takes up both the axial and the radial bearing forces. The bearing body is clamped or mounted in a fixed support solely by means of at least one elastic membrane-type element, e.g. a disc-shaped membrane, which extends in the radial direction so as to provide for the elastic return of the bearing body and the shaft to an initial reference position in both radial and axial directions.

  • Patent number: 4589297
Abstract: An adjusting transmission of a motor vehicle for a motorized seat adjustment with a transmission housing and a worm arranged on a bearing shaft which is supported at the transmission housing in two shaft bearing parts retaining the shaft and inserted into a respective housing aperture on both sides of the worm; at least one of the two shaft bearing parts is thereby tiltably supported within the coordinated housing aperture in at least a plane containing the bearing shaft axis. A self-alignment of the two bearing parts is achieved thereby so that one obtains without large expenditures a transmission operation which is low in friction and freely movable. The bearing part can be constructed as ring with spherical surface which abuts at prism surfaces of the housing aperture as well as of a pressure member.
