Abstract: A roller bearing lubricating device including a roller bearing for supporting a rotary shaft, a bearing housing for supporting the bearing, an oil tank provided in the housing for storing oil lubricating oil, a weir for forming an oil reservoir for dipping part of the bearing, and an oil supply passage for communicating between the tank and the reservoir with a part thereof having a predetermined minimum cross-sectional area.
Abstract: A sealed type rolling bearing includes an another race, an inner race, a plurality of rolling elements, at least one retainer therefor, and at least one seal plate. The bearing is sealed with grease seal, and grease in the bearing is prevented from flowing at a high rate by means of an annular projection extending radially inwardly from the retainer defining a small gap defined between the projection of the retainer and the inner race.
Abstract: A system for cooling and lubricating the drive motor of a centrifuge. The shaft of the motor includes an internal passage with an inlet having a size and taper sufficient to provide the desired rate of cooling oil flow through the motor. A lower bearing proportioning arrangement applies a high percentage of a small proportion of the total oil flow to the lower bearing. An upper bearing proportioning arrangement applies a low percentage of a large proportion of the total oil flow to the upper bearing. Together these features assure a high degree of motor cooling without overlubricating the bearings.
Abstract: In a self-priming centrifugal lubrication pump of an exhaust gas turbocharger, the pump rotor is fastened on the turbocharger shaft between two shaft bearings. A stationary oil ring channel is located on a larger diameter outside a rotating annulus of oil, which channel is connected via an oil branch pipe and an oil pressure pipe to the injection nozzles located at the side of the shaft bearings.
Abstract: In a centrifugal lubrication system of an exhaust gas turbocharger, the pump rotor is provided with two laterally located hollow spaces and is fastened on the turbocharger shaft between two shaft bearings. The shaft bearings are each located between an oil suction pipe and a hollow space of the pump rotor. The oil is sucked up from the oil sump, through the injection nozzles and through the shaft bearings.
