  • Patent number: 10190633
Abstract: To provide a rolling bearing having excellent rust prevention capability and capable of being used for a long period of time in a highly corrosion environment. A rolling bearing 1 utilized for a power generator which generates power from natural energy or for generator equipment has one or more bearing members which form the bearing having a rust prevention film formed in a predetermined region of a surface of a base material. The rust prevention film is formed by a porous film with a sacrificial anode action against the base material in the whole of the predetermined region. The porous film in a part or the whole of the predetermined region is subjected to sealing treatment which impregnates the porous film with a sealing treatment agent from a surface of the porous film. A surface of a sealing treatment body obtained from the porous film subjected to the sealing treatment is subjected to first coating treatment which coats the surface of the sealing treatment body with epoxy resin coating.

  • Patent number: 9512681
Abstract: In an embodiment, a polycrystalline diamond compact includes a cemented carbide substrate including a carbide constituent cemented with a cementing constituent. The cementing constituent has a non-homogenous concentration within the substrate that includes a substantially continuous gradient. A first portion (e.g. at or near a center) of the substrate has a concentration of the cementing constituent that differs from a concentration of the cementing constituent at a second portion (e.g., at or near an outer surface) of the substrate. Thus, the concentration gradient exhibits a substantially smooth gradient, with increasing distance from the first portion of the substrate towards the second portion of the substrate. This provides the substrate with relatively higher wear resistance in one region (e.g., at or near the outer surface) and relatively higher toughness in another region (e.g., at or near the center).

Abstract: A flanged bearing ring for a motor vehicle wheel includes two different materials joined as a single piece: a tubular core and an outer body around the core. The outer body forms a radial flange and is made of a lighter material than that of the core. The ring further includes an element of generally tubular shape, which contacts both the outer body and the inner core to cover and seal with continuity a circular line of separation at the end of the interface surface between the core and the outer body at the axially outer side of the ring. The tubular element further forms a cylindrical axial edge which extends in an axially inner direction and is fixed in the axially outer end of the core cavity, and a cylindrical tubular portion, projecting in an axially outer direction beyond the flange, for centering the vehicle wheel.

Abstract: A refrigeration chiller employs a centrifugal compressor the impellers of which are mounted on a shaft which is itself mounted for rotation using rolling element bearings lubricated only by the refrigerant which constitutes the working fluid of the chiller system. Apparatus is taught for providing liquid refrigerant to (1.) the bearings immediately upon chiller start-up, during chiller operation and during a coastdown period subsequent to shutdown of the chiller and (2.) the drive motor of the chiller's compressor for motor cooling purposes. By use of a variable speed-driven motor to drive the compressor, optimized part load chiller performance is achieved in a chiller which does not require or employ an oil-based lubrication system.
