Split Race Patents (Class 384/499)
  • Patent number: 5066145
Abstract: A solid-lubricated bearing assembly comprising an outer bearing member having a generally radially inwardly facing race surface formed therein adapted to receive rotatable bearing elements for rotating motion of said rotatable bearing elements respecting said outer bearing member, an inner bearing member having a generally radially outwardly facing race surface formed therein adapted to receive said rotatable bearing elements for rotating motion of said rotatable bearing elements respecting said inner bearing member, a plurality of said rotatable bearing elements retained between said race surfaces of said inner and outer bearing members, and solid lubricant material biased against and contacting at least one of said rotatable bearing elements for depositing a film of said solid lubricant material on said rotatable element by contact therewith as said rotatable elements rotate against said race surfaces.

  • Patent number: 5039230
Abstract: A two piece split bearing assembly is provided and consists of an outer race ring, an inner race ring and a plurality of antifriction elements all split in half. A male V-groove is formed on each end of one half of the outer race ring and the inner race ring while a female V-groove is formed on each end of other half of the outer race ring and inner race ring. When the two halves of the inner race ring and outer race ring are mated together with the antifriction elements between they will form the bearing assembly.

  • Patent number: 4881829
Abstract: A submersible bearing assembly for a shaft includes a stationary housing that is horizontally split and a roller bearing mounted within the housing and which is also horizontally split. One end of the housing is closed and the other is open. A labyrinth seal seals the open end of the housing and has internal O-rings engaged with and sealing against the shaft. A seal chamber is mounted about the shaft adjacent the open end. The chamber includes a cartridge seal ring that is bolted to the housing about the open end, a shaft seal ring that is axially spaced from the cartridge ring and mounted upon and sealed to the shaft, and a chamber seal surrounding the shaft in the space between the cartridge seal ring and shaft seal ring and which seals against both rings. The chamber seal is formed of a pair of halves each including a rigid portion with a flat radial surface in contact with the like surface of the other half and a flexible portion that seals with a respective ring and urges the rigid portions into contact.

  • Patent number: 4569602
Abstract: In a device with a double-row angular contact bearing the outer raceways are arranged in elements (4,5) which are axially displaceable in relation to each other. Prestressing or play of the bearing is determined by an elastic ring (7) situated in a space delimited by opposing surfaces connected to the respective elements, whereby the axial bearing play decreases when the distance between the opposing surfaces increases.
