Patent number: 11754122Abstract: The bearing includes a first ring, a second ring, at least one row of radial and axial rolling elements arranged between axial and radial raceways provided on the rings. The second ring has a protruding nose engaged into an annular groove of the first ring and provided with the axial raceway and with the radial raceway of the second ring. The bearing further provides at least one cage for maintaining the row of axial rolling elements and at least one flange for guiding and maintaining the cage in radial direction. The flange axially abuts against a flat surface of the second ring. The bearing further includes a plurality of fixing screws to secure the flange to the second ring, the fixing screws extending axially through the flange.Type: GrantFiled: January 18, 2022Date of Patent: September 12, 2023Assignee: Aktiebolaget SKFInventors: Bruno Capoldi, Vincent Bredoire, Herve Dondaine

Patent number: 4928987Abstract: A fifth wheel coupling for connection of a semitrailer to a tractor unit is disclosed in which a pair of symmetrical, swivel-articulated closing jaws having semicircular recesses for grasping the king pin have a split bearing comprising an outer bearing half fixed in each closing jaw and inner bearing halves rotatable with respect to the outer bearing halves. The split bearing includes a mechanism for returning each inner bearing half to a position aligned with its respective outer bearing half for uncoupling. The split bearing eliminates friction between the king pin and the closing jaws and is substantially free from wear and maintenance.Type: GrantFiled: February 13, 1989Date of Patent: May 29, 1990Inventor: Walter Hunger
