  • Patent number: 8761569
Abstract: A method of storing multi angle data. Data for a plurality of angles of a scene are stored in interleaved blocks. Sizes of the interleaved blocks are integral multiples of sizes of integral numbered aligned units that include packets. Angle change points are included in each of the interleaved blocks, allowing a reproducing apparatus to seamlessly jump from one angle to another angle during reproduction of the multi angle data. A number of the angle points recorded on the information storage medium is computed so that a jumping distance required by the data during reproduction does not exceed a maximum jumping distance of a reproducing apparatus.

Abstract: Software authenticates a first user of a first mobile device and a second user of a second mobile device. Each of the mobile devices includes a video capturing device and each user agrees or has previously agreed to share video data captured by the user with other authenticated users. The software determines whether the first mobile device is located proximate to the second mobile device. Then the software receives video data captured by the second mobile device and transmits the video data to the first mobile device for display along with an annotation indicating the location of the second mobile device relative to the first mobile device, if the first mobile device is proximate to the second mobile device. The software receives an indication from the first mobile device that at least some of the video data is to be indexed in a profile associated with the first user.

Abstract: Digital recordings of an event are collectively aggregated to improve the quality of the recordings. A user recording of an event by a user recording device is evaluated to determine a subject and quality of the user recording. Other recording devices in the vicinity of the user recording device that are recording the same subject concurrently are identified to expand the capabilities of the user recording device through crowdsourcing. An aspect of recordings from the other recording devices is analyzed to determine if it is superior in quality to the user recording according to crowdsourced quality assessments. Feedback is sent to the user recording device to expand the capabilities of the user recording device and to improve the quality of the user recording. All recordings of the event are pooled to create a higher quality composite recording using digital improvement techniques and the composite recording is offered for download.

  • Patent number: 8611723
Abstract: A system for automatically relating the changing information posted on an electronic display 10a, in regard to some ongoing event, to the recorded information, such as video, captured and corresponding to that same ongoing event. Posted information is remotely detected using master camera 50a that is aligned to capture images 12 of electronic display 10a during the event. Current images 12c are subtracted from base image 12b to yield difference image 12fr revealing one or more areas of potential electronic display 10a changes that are pre-calibrated into cells, such as game clock 12-1, which are further calibrated into characters, such as 12-1-1 for the “tens” digit through 12-1-4 for the “hundredths” digit. Using pattern matching algorithms well understood in the art, all changes to any character and therefore any cell are automatically detected and translated into digital information relatable by time to any recordings of the event, such as a video stream.

Abstract: A broadcast management system creates, manages, and streams a broadcast of an event from videos captured from multiple cameras. A video capture system comprising multiple cameras captures videos of the event and transmits the videos to a broadcast management server. The broadcast management server generates a website or other graphical interface that simultaneously displays the captured videos in a time-synchronized manner. A broadcast manager user creates a broadcast by selecting which video to output to the broadcast at any given time. A broadcast map is stored for each broadcast that includes all of the broadcast decisions made by the broadcast manager user such that the broadcast can be recreated at a later time by applying the broadcast map to the raw videos. Using a viewer client, viewers can browse or search for broadcasts and select a broadcast for viewing.
