Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure provide methods and apparatuses for video conference and/or telepresence. In some examples, video conference/telepresence can be performed by multiple client devices, user devices and a media control device (e.g., server device). For example, a first client device determines a grouping control that limits a grouping of an overlay media from a second client device with an immersive media of the first client device, and transmits a grouping control signal indicative of the grouping control to inform a media control device. Further, the first client device provides one or more media including the immersive media to the media control device. The media control device can group a plurality of immersive media streams in a single or multiple groups based on the grouping control signal received from the first client device.

Abstract: Methods and systems are described for displaying a thumbnail preview of video content. In an aspect, one or more mosaic images made up of thumbnails corresponding to frames of the video content at multiple time points can be loaded into the system or created by the methods described. In an aspect, the selected thumbnail, as well as any other thumbnails, can be selected in response to receiving a command (e.g., trick play request) from the viewer. The command can dictate the direction from the selected thumbnail that the next thumbnails will be selected. The command can also dictate the frequency with which thumbnails will be selected from the mosaic image. In an aspect, frames comprised of thumbnails can be encoded to create the video content.

Abstract: Methods and systems for controlling a camera can involve automatically setting an exposure control for a camera based on data obtained from the camera and using a synchronized infrared flash for video recording by the camera with the exposure control automatically set for the camera. The exposure control can include a managed fixed exposure time controlled with automatic gain correction by the camera. The exposure time for the camera can be fixed. A gain can be monitored, and the exposure time adjusted when an average gain attains a maximum value or a minimum value with changes to ambient light.

Abstract: Systems and methods for reducing interference between content play and video recording among multiple devices located proximate to each other. Microphones of devices recording video are muted, or content play is interrupted, according to the actions of a majority of nearby devices. For example, if most devices are recording video, content play may be interrupted to prevent the video from unintentionally recording unwanted sounds from play of the content. Conversely, if most devices are not recording video, only those devices which are may have their microphones muted. Actions to reduce interference may be taken according to the current behavior of a majority of proximate devices.

Abstract: A facility for transferring configuration information to a target media device is described. The facility receives in the target media device a copy of media device settings stored in a source media device distinct from the target media device in a first form in which they are used in the source media device. This copy of media device settings is received by the target media device via a route other than its visual user interface. The facility causes the received copy of media device settings to be transformed into a second form in which they can be used in the target media device. The facility then stores the media receiver settings in the second form in the target media device for use by the target media device.

Abstract: Headphones include a pair of cups, each housing a speaker to be positioned over an ear of a user, a processor, a cooling mechanism disposed within each of the cups to regulate environmental conditions inside of the cups to match environmental thresholds provided by a virtual reality device displaying a virtual reality environment to the user, a temperature sensor and at least one additional environmental sensor disposed within each of the cups to monitor the environmental conditions inside the cups, the processor to subsequently analyze data associated with the sensors and compare the data to the environmental thresholds and the processor to selectively activate the cooling mechanism based on the comparison.

The user selects images from image groups imaged from January to December 2017 as an image to be printed. From not-selected remaining images, an image having an attribute in which a frequency for the attribute contained in each image is equal to or less than a threshold is found and printed. Since the obtained image is an image irrelevant to the images selected by the user, the image unexpected for the user can be obtained.

Abstract: Techniques and systems for synchronized accessibility for client devices in an online conference are described. For example, a conferencing system receives presentation content and audio content as part of the online conference from a client device. The conferencing system generates sign language content by converting audio in the audio content to sign language. The conferencing system then synchronizes display of the sign language content with the presentation content in a user interface based on differences in durations of segments of the audio content from durations of corresponding segments of the sign language content. Then, the conferencing system outputs the sign language content as synchronized with the presentation content, such as to a viewer client device that requested the sign language content, or to storage for later access by viewers that request sign language content.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatuses are described for fault tolerant network storage and delivery of recorded content. Two or more network digital video recorders may each receive a plurality of requests to record, archive, and/or play back content items, such as television programs. Each network digital video recorder may receive capacity reports of statistics such as storage and/or bandwidth from one or more other network digital video recorders. At least one of the network digital video recorders may determine whether, based on a network capacity, to record, archive, and/or playback content items. The methods, systems, and apparatuses may accommodate equipment failures that lead to partitions between network digital video recorders.

Abstract: Efficient techniques are provided for distributing video and data from the internet to the TV in order to permit easier access to new means of communications, e.g., internet. Each personal stream associated with an individual may only be watched on the individual's receiver. The personal stream is paired to the receiver identification number included in the signaling data associated with the personal stream. A personalized program guide may be generated including information about the personal stream and may only be watched on the individual's receiver. Obfuscation of the stream types associated with the personal stream may be performed. Methods and apparatuses for transmitting and receiving a signal are provided.

Abstract: Systems and methods for recommending media content to a user based on information associated with a referral source that referred the user to a media item provided by a source of the media content are presented. In one or more aspects, a system is provided that includes a presentation component that presents, via user a interface, a first media item associated with a media presentation source referred to a user through a referral source. The system further includes an analytics component that identifies a second media item based on media items associated with the media presentation source that are referred to other users through the referral source, and a recommendation component that recommends the second media item to the user through the user interface.

The media guidance application identifies a playlist of media asset portions associated with the entity, and generates for display a transport bar associated with the entity comprising an indicator identifying the entity and only one or more regions associated with the playlist of media asset portions. The media guidance application then receives a second user selection, and generates for display a second portion of the media asset associated with the entity in response. In some embodiments, the media guidance application identifies the playlist by searching a custom presentation database for entries associated with the entity, and retrieves the playlist from the identified entry.

The method and system can include a male connector device having a first plurality of settings for one or more key features, and a female connector device having a second plurality of settings for one or more key features. The female connector device can be configured to operate in an initial mode in which it is configured to, in response to the introduction of the male connector device, correspond a first setting of the first plurality of settings to a second setting of the second plurality of settings. The female connector device can also be configured to operate in a subsequent mode, in which it can permit coupling with at least one male connector device having the first setting and consistently deny access to at least one male connector device having a third setting different than the first setting.

Abstract: According to one embodiment, an electronic device includes a memory that stores a first EDID including an identification bit set to respond to a separate electronic device when the separate electronic device supports a first version of the HDMI, a transmitter that transmits the first EDID, and a receiver. When the receiver receives first control information including response information set in response to the identification bit, a compliant version of the HDMI to be operated is determined according to the response information. When the receiver does not receive the first control information, the compliant version of the HDMI to be operated is determined according to an attribute of a video and audio signal transmitted from the separate electronic device.

Abstract: A server may be configured to receive first pose data from a virtual reality device, generate second pose data, including a pose prediction, based at least on the first pose data, render a map representation based at least on the pose prediction, determine regions of the map representation based on a likelihood of view of each of the regions, perform foveation in each of the regions and generate an encoded frame based on the regions and a network parameter, and send the encoded frame and second pose data to the device. The encoding may associate each of the regions with a quality level and base the foveation on each region's associated quality level. The foveation may use different quantization parameters for each of the regions and/or use rendering foveation for each of regions. Network conditions such as latency, bandwidth, and/or jitter may be considered for bit allocation in the foveation.

The video includes video frames and optionally concurrently captured audio as well as video metadata describing the video. Video data is extracted from at least two of the video's frames. By combining the extracted video data in an order specified by an identifier generation protocol, an extracted data object is generated. The extracted data object is hashed to generate the unique media identifier, which is stored in association with the video. The identifier generation protocol may indicate the portions of the video data to extract, such as video data corresponding to particular video frames and audio data corresponding to particular audio samples. The extracted data object may include a size of particular video frames, a number of audio samples in the video, or the duration of the video, for example.

The system includes a DCP editor module configured to combine the digital files of the main screen DCP and the digital files of the peripheral screen DCP to generate a merged composition playlist (“CPL”) comprising reels designating audiovisual content shown on the main screen and the peripheral screen. The system includes a DCP mastering and packaging module configured to generate a merged DCP from the combined digital files and the merged CPL.

Abstract: The invention is directed to a system and method of asynchronously collecting different types of information for an event (e.g., football game) and aggregating the information in real-time according to sub-events (e.g., plays from scrimmage). One or more terminals (e.g., smartphones, tablet or laptop computers) are configured to capture information (video, still images, metadata) of each sub-event and distribute the captured information to the other terminals in real-time. Such distribution may be facilitated using a cloud network and server, or else a peer-to-peer (P2P) network. Further, one of the terminals is configured to notify the other terminals when a particular sub-event has commenced, thus allowing the captured information of the particular sub-event to be associated with a corresponding sub-event identifier. The captured information may be aggregated according to the sub-events by use of sub-event identifiers for presentation to users, e.g., in a playlist.

Parsing and data extraction can be conducted on all DVR hard disks of various types of various manufacturers, and files in the hard disks can be reorganized into valid, single-channel and continuously played video files; and useful video data can be parsed and screened out, thereby reducing human and material resources.

Abstract: The present application discloses an information processing method and an electronic device. The method comprises: detecting whether a current video output unit is switched to a second video output unit different from a first video output unit at a first time to acquire a first detection result when first video content is played back by the first video output unit; recording a first playback progress of the first video content at the first time and acquiring a second playback progress based on the first playback progress when the first detection result is yes, wherein the first playback progress and the second playback progress satisfy a preset condition; and playing back, by the second video output unit, the first video content from the second playback progress. With the above method according to the present disclosure, the technical problem in the related art that video output units cannot be switched is solved, and the technical effects of playing back a video by one output unit are achieved.

Instructions from a media hosting system cause a frame to be created within the window. The frame includes a media upload object from a media hosting system that has a different address domain that the publishing system. A communication channel is established between the window and the frame to allow messages to be exchanged. The media upload object allows a user to create a media item and upload it to the media hosting system. Throughout the process of creating and uploading the media item, the media upload object transmits one or more messages to the page via the communication channel. Based on the messages, the page responds to what is occurring within the frame.

Abstract: Various embodiments for creating media clips are disclosed. Media clips are created by content capture and tagging devices as events are recorded by the content capture and tagging devices. Users select one or more predefined activity indictors displayed on their content capture and tagging devices as activities occur during events, or as recordings are viewed after events have concluded. Media clips are then created based on the recordings and the activity type associated with each activity indicator. The media clips are then provided to a server, where they are stored in association with activity identification information, such as an activity type based on the selected activity indicator. The media clips may then be searched and accessed by providing key words to the server.

Abstract: Various embodiments for creating media clips are disclosed. Media clips are created by a server in response to receiving primary media recordings from one or more content capture devices or content capture and tagging devices, and one or more instances of activity identification information from content tagging devices. The server creates media clips from by copying portions of the primary media recordings in accordance with the activity identification information, such as a time that a user selected an activity indicator displayed on a respective content tagging device. The media clips are then stored in association with at least users who provided the activity identification information to the server.

One or more entities associated with the particular content may be identified by the content processing device.
