Patent number: 8606073Abstract: A broadcast management system creates, manages, and streams a broadcast of an event from videos captured from multiple cameras. A video capture system comprising multiple cameras captures videos of the event and transmits the videos to a broadcast management server. The broadcast management server generates a website or other graphical interface that simultaneously displays the captured videos in a time-synchronized manner. A broadcast manager user creates a broadcast by selecting which video to output to the broadcast at any given time. A broadcast map is stored for each broadcast that includes all of the broadcast decisions made by the broadcast manager user such that the broadcast can be recreated at a later time by applying the broadcast map to the raw videos. Using a viewer client, viewers can browse or search for broadcasts and select a broadcast for viewing.Type: GrantFiled: May 10, 2011Date of Patent: December 10, 2013Assignee: Woodman Labs, Inc.Inventor: Nicholas D. Patent number: 7945935Abstract: A system that enables an event or moments within an event to be captured and provided in a record that preserves at least some aspects of the participant's perspective of the event. In particular, the present invention involves centralized recording of the event in one or more modes including video, audio, and still image recordings and a system that enables a participant (i.e., one who perceives the event) to select portions of the event recording substantially contemporaneously with the event occurrence. A personalized record is made by duplicating the selected portions from the event record. In a particular example, the personalized record is recorded on a digital media such as a compact disc (CD) or digital video disk (DVD) or the like.Type: GrantFiled: June 19, 2002Date of Patent: May 17, 2011Inventor: Dale Stonedahl

Publication number: 20110110643Abstract: Described herein are systems and methods for managing video data. In overview, various embodiments provide software, hardware and methodologies associated with the management of video data. In overview, a video management system (such as a surveillance system) includes a plurality of camera servers, each of which being configured to make available stored video data for one or more assigned cameras. A given one of the cameras is reassigned from a first one of the camera servers to a second one of the camera servers. The system is configured such that, in the event that a client places a request for video data from that camera for a time period overlapping with the reassignment, the client is provided with a playback stream that seamlessly traverses the reassignment.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 24, 2009Publication date: May 12, 2011Applicant: HONEYWELL INTERNATIONAL INC.Inventor: Anil Chandra

Patent number: 7929824Abstract: An optical image recordation and image evaluation system has an imaging beam path and at least two digital cameras and a beam splitter. The beam splitter splits the light of the imaging beam path and conducts the same to respective digital cameras. The start time points for image recordation by the digital cameras are synchronized with respect to each other and the beam splitter is a dichroic beam splitter. The synchronization of the start time points preferably has an accuracy which is equal to or less than 1/1000th of the shortest exposure time of the digital cameras so that simultaneous images are recorded in different spectral ranges.Type: GrantFiled: September 13, 2004Date of Patent: April 19, 2011Assignee: Carl Zeiss MicroImaging GmbHInventor: Dan Davidovici

Publication number: 20110052137Abstract: A system and method for effectively utilizing a recorder device includes a timecode generator that generates timecode for synchronizing electronic information. A transceiver of the recorder device wirelessly transmits the timecode to a plurality of cameras. The cameras capture video data and audio data, and timecode managers of the respective cameras combine the received timecode with the captured video data and audio data to produce camera data. The cameras then wirelessly transmit the camera data to the recorder device for storage in a recorder memory. The recorder device may also receive and store PA audio data from a public address system. Furthermore, a computer device may communicate with the recorder device to perform various types of editing procedures on the stored camera data and PA data to produce edited data.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 1, 2009Publication date: March 3, 2011Inventor: Robert Cowie
