Abstract: An image recording and reproducing apparatus that records and reproduces image data shot at a frame rate higher than a normal reproduction rate employed during reproduction of a moving image can generate a still image by attaching still image recording information to at least one frame image included in the recorded image data and combining a plurality of frame images of the recorded image data in accordance with the still image recording information.
Abstract: An information processing apparatus, as a recording apparatus, formulates a Clip Information file of a still picture file (TS file), made up by plural still pictures, and a PlayList, composed of plural PlayItems, indicating the replay path of a slide show, and records the information on a DVD along with the TS file. The Clip Information file has an EP_map, as a table indicating the relationship of correspondence between the value of the presentation time stamp PTS of the transport stream TS and the source packet number SPN in the TS the PTS value indicates. The information processing apparatus, as a reproducing apparatus, reads out and reproduces the data address of the TS, represented by the replay start time IN_time and the replay end time OUT_time of the PlayItem.
Abstract: The image recording apparatus according to the present invention is provided with a conversion device that converts an optical image of a subject to an electrical signal, a recording circuit that records the electrical signal achieved through the conversion device in a storage device as image data and a display control circuit that detects an available capacity at the storage device and the length of time that power supply by a source is possible and displays them on a display as available capacity information and remaining power supply time information. The available capacity information indicates the length of available recording time remaining at the available capacity that has been detected.
Abstract: Methods are provided for tagging digital media files. A digital media file is obtained with a digital media device. One or more event tags are associated with the digital media file on the digital media device responsive to a user prompt. The one or more event tags identify the digital media file. Related devices and computer program products are also provided.
Abstract: A series of content information; menu information, which is to be displayed with the content information during reproduction of the content information; and play list information for defining reproduction sequence of the content information by a unit of item, which constitutes the content information and which is accessible upon reproducing, are recorded on the information record medium. The play list information includes: item information for specifying each item which constitutes the content information; and slave item information for specifying the menu information corresponding to the each item as a slave item.

Abstract: According to one embodiment, a video analyzer includes a still image detector, a characteristic detector, and a boundary position detector. The still image detector detects a still image in video frames of content including video and audio data, and create a still image group of substantially the same still images. The characteristic detector includes at least one of a monochrome detector that detects a monochrome video frame in the video frames of the content and a silence detector that detects a silent portion in which the sound volume of the audio data is lower than a predetermined threshold. The boundary position detector detects a position where the type of the content changes based on information on at least one of the monochrome video frame and the silent portion contained in a segment where the still image group is present and a segment where no still image group is present.
Abstract: A video recording method used for a video recording apparatus which enables recording of both moving and still pictures on a recording medium, including: recording moving pictures encoded by a first encoding method, recording first still pictures encoded by a second encoding method which is different from the first encoding method, and recording second still pictures encoded by the first encoding method by which moving pictures are encoded, whereby a video reproducing apparatus enabled for decoding moving pictures encoded by the first encoding method, but which is not enabled for decoding still pictures encoded by the second encoding method, can decode the second still pictures recorded on the recording medium.
Abstract: An image-recording device comprises a recording processor recording a common still image, to which an identical frame number (a folder-number/file-number pair, for example) is attached, on a plurality of recording media, respectively. A plurality of images, to which an identical frame number is attached, are simultaneously indicated on the screen of a monitor. A candidate image is selected, which should be subjected to a predetermined image process such as deletion operation, from the plurality of images indicated on the screen.
Abstract: A content recording apparatus (10) includes an MPEG-4 codec (34). Compressed motion image data output from the MPEG-4 codec (34) in photographing a motion image is a motion image content which expresses a continuous change with time and has an I frame allocated intermittently. A CPU (40) records the compressed motion image data onto a recording medium (38). The CPU (40) also creates motion image index data pointing each frame of the compressed motion image data output from the MPEG-4 codec (34) in parallel with the compression operation by the MPEG-4 codec (34). The created motion image index data is recorded onto the recording medium (38) by the CPU (40) every time that the I frame is specified.
Abstract: A method is disclosed for recording steps performed in a computer environment to produce an electronic demonstration movie. The method includes recording at least one screen shot corresponding to at least one of the steps using a still motion recorder. The method also monitors the steps for the presence of detail criteria. In response to the detection of detail criteria in the steps, the still motion recorded is paused and a video recorder is initiated for recording full motion video clips of a detailed process. In response to the end of the detail criteria, the video recorder is paused and the still motion recorder is re-instated in response to the pausing of the video recorder. The recorded screen shots and recorded full motion video are then compiled into an electronic demonstration movie.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a recording apparatus and a method, a recording medium, and a program for allowing the relative layout of data recorded on a data recording medium to be maintained on the data recording medium without having to requiring a user to perform burdensome operation. A playback control section 82 controls reading of ARI_DATA indicating an attribute of data recorded on an optical disk from the optical disk. A data-format identifying section 86 determines whether data recorded on the optical disk is a photo movie based on the read-out ARI_DATA. If it is determined that the data recorded on the optical disk is a photo movie, a delete control section 83 controls deletion of the data from the optical disk optical disk so as to delete the photo movie. The present invention can be applied to camcorders.
Abstract: A portable electronic apparatus according to the present invention includes a main body with a front part on which a shooting lens is provided, wherein a moving image shooting button and a still image shooting button are provided at a rear part of the main body. A moving image shooting button and a still image shooting button are provided independent from the two aforementioned recording buttons on an upper face of the main body. The moving image shooting button and the still image shooting button provided at the rear part of the main body can be operated independently from the moving image shooting button and the still image shooting button provided on the upper face of the main body.
