Abstract: Systems, devices, and processes are provided to facilitate the streaming of a playback of a recorded program in a video playback recording system. These systems, devices, and processes provide operating the cloud-based DVR in a recording mode for user selection of program content for recordation in a video playback file by the cloud-based DVR wherein the video playback file containing the program content is recorded by the user selection beginning with a start time associated with the DVR event file; and generating a manifest file that contains a program marker of a start time of the program content omitting any recorded commercial content at a beginning of the video playback file associated by beginning of the recording from the start time associated with the DVR event file.

Abstract: A disclosed example meter to monitor a media device includes a touch sense circuit including a circuit input and a circuit output, the circuit input to electrically couple with a first power line of the meter and a capacitor, the circuit output to provide a first value based on the capacitor when the first power line of the meter is not electrically coupled with a second power line of the media device, the circuit output to provide a second value different from the first value when the first power line of the meter is electrically coupled with the second power line of the media device. The disclosed example meter also includes at least one processor to detect the first power line of the meter is not electrically coupled with the second power line of the media device when the circuit output of the touch sense circuit provides the first value.

Abstract: A method includes receiving, from a first device at a second device, first input corresponding to selection of a previous channel option. The method includes, responsive to the first input, sending list data to a display device coupled to the second device, where the list data enables a display of a list of previously displayed channels. The list includes multiple elements and a selection indicator associated with a first element of the list. Each element of the multiple elements corresponds to a previously displayed channel. The method includes receiving, from the first device, second input corresponding to selection of a next channel option. The method also includes sending updated list data based on the second input to the display device. The updated list data updates the display to change an association of the selection indicator from the first element to a second element of the list.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed which detect a change in the status of a multimedia asset in a multimedia delivery system, and take steps to make the multimedia asset available after the status change. The multimedia asset can then be locally recorded on the user's digital video recorder (DVR) before the status changes. Alternatively, the user can be directed to an equivalent asset, for example, video-on-demand (VOD). The user may also receive a notification, which can be displayed on a TV or computer monitor or send to a remote device, for example to a mobile phone as an email or a short message. The user may be able to purchase the asset and/or initiate recording the asset. The status can be, for example, an expiration date of an asset, or a change of the source or format of an asset.

Abstract: A system and method for providing an electronic program guide for television or radio programs includes presenting listings of present or future programs on-screen, presenting listings of past programs on-screen and indicating whether the past program is available again at a future time. Also, a system and method for handling information controllable from an electronic program guide for television or radio programs comprises receiving information in a user's system, storing the received information in the user's system, displaying access to the stored information by means of a user interface and enabling the user to select one of a plurality of management options for controlling the operation of the stored information through the user interface.

Abstract: A system and machine-implemented method for creating and sharing virtual collaboration objects, including receiving a request from a user to create a virtual collaboration object, the request identifying one or more portions of each of one or more stored digital source objects for inclusion in the virtual collaboration object, where for at least one of the stored digital source objects, the one or more portions comprise less than the full stored digital source object, creating a metadata list in response to the request including the one or more stored digital source objects and portion information identifying the one or more portions of each of the one or more stored digital source objects, generating a collaboration object identifier (ID) corresponding to the virtual collaboration object, associating the metadata list with the collaboration object ID and providing a reference to the collaboration object ID for sharing with one or more other users.
