Abstract: A open/close device of washing tank drain comprises an open/close controller having a sliding shaft and a fixed sleeve, a drain plug mechanism with an open/close function mechanism, and a connecting cable between the open/close controller and the open/close function mechanism. The open/close controller has a retaining hook to be connected with the sliding shaft. A first stop position and a second stop position, which are moveably connected with the retaining hook, are set on the surface of the sliding shaft, at different height, and the first one being closer to the head of the sliding shaft than the second one. The sliding shaft is provided with a first one-way slideway and a second one-way slideway. The open/close controller also has a spring for applying a force to the sliding shaft along the direction from the head to the tail of the sliding shaft. One end of the connecting cable is connected with the sliding shaft.

Abstract: A sink flange for use in conjunction with a sink drain. The flange includes a flange body and a flange lip. The flange body is substantially vertical having a top end and a bottom end. The bottom end defines a flange passage therethrough. The flange lip is annular having a top side and a bottom side, which radially extends out of the top end of the flange body. The flange passage and flange lip are at least coated with a polymer.

Abstract: A drain closure device for a vessel such as a bathtub or sink is provided. The drain closure device comprises a stopper fitted with a sealing gasket and threaded onto a stem slidably mounted in a guide member which is in turn threaded into a strainer mounted in a hole in the bottom of the vessel. The device is concentrically disposed within the strainer. Twirling of the stopper causes the stem to rise and fall against an undulating cam surface of the guide. Resistance to closure is provided by rest stops for projections on the upper part of the stem. No spring, pins, or resistance seals are used. Once in place, the drain closure nests in the strainer.

Abstract: A floor drain installation system includes an adaptor attached to a drain pipe projecting from the ground, a coring sleeve having a bowl-shaped upper end attached to or integral with the adaptor, and a coring plug received within the bowl of the receiver to close off the drain pipe during pouring of a concrete floor and to create a space for subsequent reception of a drain head and grate.

Abstract: Elongated drain assemblies suitable for use in tiled shower stalls are described. Because the elongated drain is typically located at one edge of the shower stall proximate a stall wall and extends substantially the entire length of the wall, the installation of the associated shower pan is made much simpler. Specifically, the pan need only be sloped substantially in a single direction instead of four towards a prior art circular drain located at the center of a stall. The time and cost of creating a pan having a single slope is reduced over a more complex multi-sloped pan. Several different means for adjusting the height of the drain assemblies' top surfaces relative to the height of the tile floor are provided to adjust for tile floors of differing thicknesses.

Abstract: A device used to conceal at least a portion of a wastewater strainer associated with a bathtub is provided. More specifically, a plate having an opening therethrough is used to overlap a flange of the wastewater strainer wherein the opening in the plate generally coincides with an opening in the wastewater strainer so that the bathtub drain is unobstructed. The plate may include a downwardly extending lip to help facilitate orientation onto the flange of the wastewater strainer. The plate conceals the wastewater strainer, thereby facilitating reconfiguration of a bathtub as the existing wastewater strainer need not be removed and the plumbing system retested.

Abstract: A flexible sink strainer having a cupped body completely comprised of a flexible material including a plurality of apertures to allow fluid to pass therethrough, wherein the body is capable of attaining first and second configurations, the first configuration being suitable for capturing material entrained within fluid as it passes through the apertures and the second configuration being suitable for removing material captured on the body as fluid passes through the apertures, is disclosed.

Abstract: A pop-up stopper includes a main body having an inside provided with a receiving space and a periphery provided with a plurality of through holes, a control unit removably mounted on a top of the main body and including a top cap and a plurality of connecting members, and a bottom cap removably mounted on a bottom of the main body. Each of the connecting members includes at least one upper elastic plate having a protrusion and at least one lower elastic plate having a protrusion. Thus, the stopper has draining and straining functions to achieve a sanitary effect. In addition, the control unit and the bottom cap can be mounted on and detached from the main body easily and quickly, thereby facilitating a user assembling and disassembling the stopper.

Abstract: A sink disposal multipurpose tool is described. Disposals can be damaged by non-food items that are inadvertently dropped therein. A sink disposal multipurpose tool is configured so that it rests within and above a disposal in such a way as to block non-food items from entering a disposal while allowing water and food-waste items entrance. The tool is configured with a plurality of attachments, including a scraper and stuffer blade attachment so that a cook can efficiently scrape food waste materials from dishes, pans, etc. into a sink. The tool can be used to gather the food waste materials from the sink and push them into a disposal. Other attachments include a scrub pad, a brush, and a peeler. The sink disposal multipurpose tool can be returned to its storage position in and above the disposal well where it effectively stops utensils, etc. from entering the disposal unit.

Abstract: The present invention provides a magnetic sink strainer with at least one magnet securely attached to the strainer, to create a magnetic field. The invention also provides a magnetic sink strainer made of a magnetized material to provide a magnetic field. The magnetic sink strainer is firmly placed over a standard sink drain and functions to capture and retain objects that are attracted by a force as a result of being subjected to the magnetic field. This prevents such objects from accidentally being discarded into the sink drain. The magnetic sink strainer also includes at least one slit to enable fluids and other non-magnetic substances to easily and rapidly flow down to the sink drain.

There is also described a method for installing and a method for de-installing such a floor drain.

The top component features a substantially transparent center section which provides a view of a display component housed in a display cavity formed between the drain aperture and the center section of the top component. The display component is easily changed by removal of the top component, replacing the display component, and remounting the top component.

Abstract: An inexpensive, compact, conveniently installed drain tap for disposing of water from a condensate hose. The drain tap channels condensate water from a hose to a drain having at least one drain hole. The tap includes a base forming a hollow channel. The base has a spillway at one end of the channel, in fluid communication therewith. A peg extends downward from the base, including at least one hole barb adapted for retractable insertion into the drain hole. A hose connector is formed on the base, adapted for engagement with one end of the hose. The hose connector is in fluid communication with the base channel, so that when the peg is inserted into the drain hole and one end of the hose is engaged with the hose connector, water may flow through the hose, into the base channel and exit from the spillway onto the drain. In preferred embodiments, the hose connector includes at least one hose barb for gripping engagement of the hose.

Abstract: An improved combination garbage disposal safety poker and scraper for scraping waste from eating ware and sinks and pushing such materials into the disposal unit so that such wastes are close as possible to the blades of the disposal. The safety poker/scraper has interchangeable tops which may consist of a cup-shaped drain and handle, an elastomeric cap and handle or simply an enlarged handle. The scraper portion is detachable and can be replaced when worn. The scraper portion is curved so that it can fit more easily into the garbage disposal unit.

Abstract: A device for allowing a user to adjust drainage properties of a sink drain is disclosed, comprising an inner tube inserted into a stopper ring. The stopper ring is inserted into the drain such that liquids cannot enter the sink drain except by traversing the inner tube. An outer tube is fitted substantially completely around the inner tube. A selector slot of the outer tube may be aligned with a selected drain slot of the inner tube to allow draining of the sink down to a lower height of an exposed drain slot of the inner tube. A straining tube is adapted to fit loosely around the outer tube and has a plurality of straining apertures each no larger than a predetermined size. The apertures are formed along the entire length of the straining tube. With the straining tube placed around the outer tube, debris having a size larger than the predetermined size is prevented from flowing through the slots of the outer and inner tubes and into the sink drain.

The magnet (18) attracts a movable valve member (27) upwardly from a seat (22) to allow liquid to pass through the seat (22). When the basket (15) is removed the movable valve member (27) closes the seat (22). In one embodiment the valve member (27) includes a valve disk 29 that prevents the flow of liquid through the seat (22) when engaged therewith, while in another embodiment the disk (29) has a series of passages (31) that permits the flow of liquid through the seat when the disk (29) is engaged with the seat (22).

Abstract: A waste water insert has a cylindrical wall surrounding a vertical cylindrical bore. A horizontal flange extends outwardly from the upper end of the wall and has a lip formed on its outer periphery. The horizontal flange of the waste water insert is super-imposed over the horizontal flange of a waste water strainer located in a bathtub, sink or the like. The cylindrical wall of the insert extends downwardly through the cylindrical wall of the waste water strainer with the two walls being spaced from each other by virtue of the cylindrical wall of the insert having a smaller diameter than that of the strainer. One or more grooves are within the cylindrical wall of the insert and receive resilient rings that engage the cylindrical wall of the strainer.

Abstract: An apparatus includes: a commercial kitchen sink having a drain; a trough below the sink for transporting effluent positioned such that there is an air gap between it and the drain; and a plurality of selectively positionable markers on the trough for indicating positions for strainers to collect solids in effluent discharging form the drain. A method of removing solids from an effluent flow from a kitchen sink having a drain hole is also disclosed.

Abstract: A drain tube assembly for use with a lavatory or other plumbing fixture is disclosed. The lavatory has a basin, a lower drain outlet having an internal threaded bore, and a one-piece drain structure having a drain tube adjacent one axial end, an attachment sleeve adjacent an opposed axial end which is radially outwardly threaded, and a radially extending flange there between. When attached, the drain structure has an axial path extending through the attachment sleeve, flange, and drain tube to carry liquid from the lavatory out the drain tube. In a first position the flange can form a clamp member if the assembly is to be mounted through a counter top. Alternatively the flange can in a second position form a base for the lavatory when the lavatory is suspended. Movement between the positions is created by varied degrees of threading the sleeve into the lower drain.

Abstract: A kit for use in treating a sink drain so that drain remains both open and clean includes an unclogging device and a strainer, which though packagable or stackable together would normally be used separately. The unclogging device can be used to concentrate the spray from a nozzle to assist in unclogging a drain. The strainer would normally reside in a sink drain to prevent debris from clogging or restricting the drain. One version of the strainer provides space for an air freshener that can be replaced. These kits also include a sealing stopper and a gasket.

Circumferentially spaced locking tabs are affixed to the edge of the top part below the grating surface thereof for reception within tab receivers in the bottom part when the top part is inserted into the chamber of the bottom part and turned for locking of the tabs within the tab receivers. The top part includes a threaded bore within which a valve is manually operable to open and close the drainpipe. The deck drain apparatus is made of composite plastic materials to resist corrosion.

Abstract: A plumbing screen is provided having an annular seal that is adapted to fittingly conform to the internal surface of a toilet drain. The annular seal circumscribes a central screen that provides free fluid communication down the toilet drain but provides physical impingement for obstructions. At least one contact switch is located in the outer seal wall and controls an annunciator module that will provide an audible alarm upon removing the contact between the switch and the toilet sidewall. This audible alarm will indicate tampering with or removal of the screen.

Abstract: A coupling system for securing a sink to a drain pipe. The coupling system of the present invention can include a support member and a flange connector. The flange connector can be coupled to the support member about opposite surfaces of a sink. The support member can include both a shoulder and a support surface opposite to the shoulder. The shoulder can be configured to support a sink and a gasket can be positioned thereon or within a recess therein to provide enhanced communication between a sink and the shoulder. The support surface, by comparison, can be configured to rest upon a support surface able to support the sink when coupled to the support surface.

The test cap includes an end wall (12) with a sidewall (14) extending around the perimeter of the end wall. The top side (12A) of the end wall is provided with an annular groove (16) which surrounds a center portion (18) of the test cap. The diameter of the groove is such that a standard sized pipe (104) can be used to apply force to the groove to detach the center portion from the end wall of the test cap. Once hydrostatic testing is complete, the center portion is detached from the end wall of the test cap and removed to allow access to the building drain.
