Abstract: Apparatus for sequentially turning pages of a book or the like includes a turned page holder having a first part movable up and down, and a second part carried by the first part that swings over the turning pages during holder displacement between up and down position.

Abstract: A page turner capable of turning the pages of a book forwards or backwards which includes a roller mounted on a mounting above a book support. The mounting is movable relative to the support so that the roller can engage pages on either side of a book spline. The roller is rotatable in opposed senses and is operable so as to displace a page to be turned under the roller to release the page and a flap carried on the mounting alongside the roller is movable relative to the support to move the released page to the opposite side of the book spline.

Abstract: Apparatus for sequentially turning stacked pages includes several actuator driven elements. These include a pusher to frictionally push an exposed page in a turn direction and resulting in upward bulging of the page; a foot to clamp a page to be turned to facilitate development of the bulge; at least one flipper arm to swing under the bulge and flip the page over; and a turned page holder that temporarily lifts to allow a turning page to be received on a stack of turned pages, for subsequent clamping by the holder. The actuator includes a linearly moveable member that is motor driven and that actuates the elements. Also provided are a holder for pages to be turned; a string to hold down groups of turned pages, and a receptacle for a book (as for example a paper back book), the receptacle being capable of inversion to allow a bed-ridden reader to use the apparatus with no effort spent in turning pages.

Abstract: An automatic page-turning apparatus for books, magazines and the like comprising a transparent housing having a hinged top to allow a book to be positioned in the housing and seen through the top thereof. Disposed within the housing is a slip-clutch assembly attached to an operating knob located on the exterior of the housing. A monofilament cable is interconnected to the slip-clutch assembly, and is arranged to be operably supported by a plurality of pullies, the cable including a transversely attached page-turning band, which traverses over the pages of the book to engage each succeeding page to be turned. A page-separating wheel is operably synchronized with the movement of the page turning-band to allow the band to engage the page to be turned. When the book is being read, the page-turning band acts as a page hold-down means for one side, while a separate hold-down band is used on the opposite side of the book.

Abstract: A revolving self-service sales display device is provided which comprises a vertically disposed revolving carrousel or pedestal carried on a base, which base can be set on a counter top, on the floor or on stands of any desired height. The revolving pedestal has a plurality of pivotally mounted, radially projecting frames for displaying flat members, such as posters, in pockets on each side of each frame. Each frame is provided with guide members both top and bottom for guiding the flat members into and out of the pockets in the frame. The frames have shaped pivots which extend into openings formed in sloping surfaces of a hub or bar such that the weight of the frame will always pivot the frame into a position with the body of the frame projecting radially outward from the pedestal. The device may have one, two or more pedestals stacked end-on-end in tandom or it may be a vertical rectangular support with horizontal frame engaging bars.

Abstract: A display device is provided with a plurality of flip display cards which are pivotally carried by a rotatable card holder. A release tab is positioned above the card holder so as to engage the edge of one card whereby the information on the front of said one card can be viewed. The preceding card is supported on abutments on the card holder so that information on the back of said preceding card can be viewed simultaneously with the information on the front of said one card. The card holder is turned step-by-step so as to urge the one card past a first viewing position whereupon the card falls down onto the abutments for viewing in the second viewing position as the next card is moved into said first viewing position. The card holder has structure for pivotally carrying display cards, abutments for supporting display cards and indexing detents for providing the step-by-step advance of the display cards.
