  • Patent number: 4937962
Abstract: A display banner functions to display a visual message having both an unchanging visual component and an additional visual component which needs to be changed from time to time. The banner includes a planar member adapted to carry the unchanging visual component of the message and further includes one or more transparent panels mounted over the planar member so as to form one or more display pockets. A plurality of display elements, carrying the changeable visual components of the message, are removably received in the display pockets and are visible through the transparent panels. By selectively positioning selected ones of the display elements within the display pockets, the changeable visual component of the visual message can be changed as desired.

  • Patent number: 4906503
Abstract: A banner including a bonded nonwoven polyolefin film-fibril sheet having front and back surfaces and having two side edges intersecting top and bottom edges to define four corners. The side edges are generally linear and are folded-over onto the back surface of the sheet and secured with double-faced adhesive tape to form a laminated edgefold with the double-faced adhesive tape sandwiched between two layers of the sheet. The front surface of the sheet has at least a first coating of surface-sealing polymer and means are provided adjacent each corner for attaching cords to the edgefold for hanging the banner.

  • Patent number: 4890403
Abstract: A new and improved pole sign consisting of several simple but effective elements, namely, a one-piece upper sign engaging framing unit; an identical lower sign-engaging frame unit; and a laminated, flexible roll-up sign of sheet material which is gripped and mounted at its upper and lower edges in the aforementioned frame units; and a conventional strap mount for affixing said upper and lower frame units to a vertical pole. Where back-to-back units are desired for mounting on the same pole, the strap hardware simply affixes a pair of upper frame members and a pair of lower frame members in tandem to the mounting pole.

  • Patent number: 4831956
Abstract: This invention relates to a portable, yet full size tennis scoring apparatus. This scoring device is constructed of a durable fabric and is designed so as to be foldable about itself into a small and portable configuration and yet be unfoldable to a full size with adequate room for indicating players' names, set, game and point scoring tallies and promotional, organizational or sponsorship information. This tennis scoring apparatus is also designed so as to be large enough so that when it is unfolded it would be clearly visible to the players and spectators. Further, the apparatus is designed so it is capable of being affixed during use to either fence netting or netting post. This device also enables a player to accurately measure the height of the net at the center. Paddle-shaped markers are removably held in pockets formed on the fabric and register with scoring indicia placed on scoring placards which are also detachably held on the fabric.

  • Patent number: 4384418
Abstract: A shelf display is constructed for vertical elastic mounting of a product information member between upper and lower shelves. The product information member extends outwardly from the edges of the shelves so as to be viewable to a prospective purchaser moving down an aisle parallel to the shelves. The air movement caused by the normal walking of the prospective purchaser causes the sign to vibrate or quiver, and thereby further attracts the prospective purchaser's attention.

  • Patent number: 4383782
Abstract: A traffic barricade is constructed from a foldable material such as cardboard impregnated with a waterproofing material or double-faced corrugated plastic or cardboard impregnated with a waterprooofing material. First and second flat sheet portions of such material are provided, each having a pair of scorelines, the first of which defines a border of a vertical area and the second of which forms a border of a horizontal area when the barricade is erected. The flat sheet portions each have a sloping surface between the scorelines when the barricade is erected. The vertical areas of the two flat sheet portions are permanently secured to each other. In one embodiment, a warning light is incorporated within the traffic barricade by forming holes in the vertical areas and attaching plastic lenses over each of the holes.

  • Patent number: 4368586
Abstract: A tensioning and attachment device comprises a bracket displaceably mounted in relation to a bar or a tube and a tensioning arm is pivotally connected to the bracket and comprises a handle portion and also two lugs, which act against the envelope surface of the bar or tube. These lugs are so shaped that upon actuation of the tensioning arm they firstly bring about displacement of the bracket in relation to the bar or tube, and in the end or final position they fix the bracket to the bar or tube. Preferably, the device is combined with a stand structure such as a display stand, and the foot or base of the stand may have resilient members in the shape of rubber blocks.

  • Patent number: 4292751
Abstract: A roll type display sign for a pump is disclosed having an upper bracket mounted to slide across an upper edge of a frame surrounding a pump face. A spring biased roller is mounted to the upper bracket and a display sheet is mounted to the roller such that the sheet is movable between a retracted position, in which the display sheet is wrapped around the roller, and an extended position, in which the display sheet extends across and substantially parallel to a portion of the pump face. The sign also includes a lower bracket mounted to a lower frame edge. This lower bracket is provided with three hooks spaced across the length of the lower edge which engage a loop member mounted to a cross bar attached to an edge of the display sheet. By sliding the upper bracket into an appropriate position and hooking the loop defining member about an appropriate one of the three hooks, the display sheet can be positioned over any one of three portions of the pump face.

  • Patent number: 4262437
Abstract: A poster display and kit therefor provides an inexpensive point-of-sale advertising poster, with stiffening ribs which hold opposite vertical edges of the poster planar thereby preventing rolling or curling. Two telescoping sections with a rubber band stop provide an adjustable vertical pole support for the poster which may be attached thereto with adhesive strip. The pole of the poster display is held in an upright position by securing it to a cardboard, corrugated cut-case, or wire merchandising display using one or more specialized straps which encircle the lower pole section and hold the same to the cardboard merchandise container with an arrowhead tab, gummed plate, or, when the same is attached to a wire merchandising display or stand, by looping the strap around both the pole and a wire element of the display. The poster display kit, when disassembled into its component parts, may be packed for storage or shipping into the larger of the telescoping pole sections.

  • Patent number: 4253777
Abstract: A traffic barricade is constructed of disposable material such as cardboard and is formed of a single flat sheet of material formed into separate sheets by folding along a predetermined line. The fold forms a first and second sheet of material, each having a pair of scorelines, the first of which defines a border of a vertical area and the second of which forms a border of a horizontal area when the barricade is erected. The flat sheets each have a sloping surface between the score lines when the barricade is erected. The vertical areas of the two flat sheets formed by the folding of the single flat sheet are permanently secured to each other. The horizontal areas of each of the two flat sheets extend toward one another and one of the horizontal areas extends between the sloping surfaces of the sheets to maintain the sheets in spaced apart relation at the horizontal areas.
