Abstract: This disclosure is concerned with a readily changeable sign display system which facilitates easy alteration of the sign indicia displayed but is also resistant to unauthorized tampering so that it can be deployed where it is not under continuous surveillance when exposed to the general public. It comprises vertical frame members which provide tracks for the insertion of horizontal frame members. In some embodiments the vertical frame members are joined to each other with a backing member while in other embodiments intermediate channel members are placed between the vertical frame members and adjacent members are joined by a backing member. The horizontal frame members carry grooves for the insertion of sign panels which carry indicia. The tracks for the horizontal frame members carry removable obstructions which hold these members in the tracks. The obstructions at the upper end of the tracks are readily removable.

Abstract: A rack system for displaying products comprises a rack unit supporting some of the products so as to be accessed at a forward facing product dispensing face. The rack unit has a side portion facing generally perpendicular to the dispensing face. A corner member is supported on the side portion and comprises a first wall portion extending generally forwardly to a vertical edge adjacent the product dispensing face, and a second wall portion extending generally laterally outward from the side portion to a second vertical edge. The first and second edges each have a retaining portion extending vertically. A flexible signage member is supported on the corner member in a flexed condition between the retaining portions with a signage surface that is concave outwardly between the retaining portions. The signage member is supported and retained on the corner member by a biasing of the signage member to extend wider than a distance between the retaining portions.

Abstract: A customizable display and method for selectively and securely displaying important information, such as a sign for use in healthcare environments. The display includes a cover and a frame assembly. The frame assembly includes a frame, which supports a plurality of tracks, and a plurality of slides positioned on the tracks. The slides receive interchangeable indicia plates, which bear the important information wherein the slides are positioned behind the cover to selectively display the interchangeable indicia plates. The frame defines a locking channel for receiving a locking system having at least one elongate locking member for cooperating with a slide coupling to secure the slides in the extended or concealed position. The slides are biased in the concealed and extended positions and the locking system is obscured by the cover to prevent unauthorized or accidental movement of the slides to alter the displayed information.

Abstract: A sign for displaying product information to a consumer. The sign includes first and second components for supporting primary and secondary product information. A first support member is provided for supporting the sign in an orientation to enable the product information to be visible to a consumer. A connecting interface is provided in the form of extenders emanating from the first and second components enabling the first and second components to releaseably attach to one another, the second component used for supporting supplemental product information in an orientation to enable supplemental product information to be made visible to a consumer.

Abstract: A traffic sign holder includes a first side for night use and an opposite second side for day use. Both sides of the traffic sign holder removably accept traffic signs which contain traffic control instructions. The first side contains a selectively energizable light and at least one reflector. The second side also includes at least one reflector, and is colored a bright color. Two base members are pivotally connected to the bottom of the traffic sign holder, and are selectively positionable to a locked extended position for placement on the surface of a road, and to a collapsed position for storage. Weights can be selectively connected to the traffic sign holder to provide stability.

Abstract: Disclosed is a display structure in which an insertion opening, slide grooves, a first fitting portion and a ridged portion along which the display plate bends when the display plate is bent arranged in the loading sections of a support body in a suitable manner to ensure that when the display plate is inserted into or removed from the loading unit, a force is exerted on both sides of the display plate in either the direction from the display surface side to the rear surface side thereof or the direction from the rear surface side to the display surface side thereof, and a force is exerted in another direction at the center region of the display plate. As a result of configuring in this manner, the display plate deforms so that the entire display surface side comes to have a convex or concave shape, thereby allowing the display plate to be attached to or detached from the support body without forcible localized deformation of the display plate.

Abstract: Generally speaking, this is a card positioning device which maintains a card such as a greeting card or a postcard in a standing position. The card experiences a destabilizing moment. The card positioning device has a moment resisting section to resist the destabilizing moment and maintain the card in a standing position. The moment resisting section connects to the origin end of the longitudinal fold of the card and extends along the card edges from the origin to reinforce the card edges. The moment resisting section has a foot which has a heel and toe to resist the destabilizing moment. An ornament such as a flag, character or emblem can be attached to the base of the moment resisting section. The ornament, moment resisting section and card, may be inserted into an envelope and mailed to a recipient.

Abstract: A framing member for use in a bleed sign construction assembly, the construction assembly including a projecting mounting surface and at least one construction light fixture arrayed proximate to the projecting mounting surface which is encased within a light permeable covering material. A substantially elongate and joinable member includes a body with a selected width and height in cross section and a longitudinally extending channel which reveals an interior cavity of the body. A first flange extends longitudinally from along a first side of the body and secures to the mounting surface to arrange the body at a spaced distance therefrom. A second flange extends longitudinally from along a second and opposite side of the body terminates along a remote extending edge. A plurality of the framing members are connected in end to end fashion to form a closed perimeter and the covering material is anchored within the interconnected channels and drawn across the framing members.

Abstract: A curved sign assembly includes a flexible sign panel removably mounted in an arcuate position in a modular frame. The frame comprises a pair of edge rails mounted on opposite side edges of an intermediate member. The edge rails can clip on a variety of intermediate members of different sizes. The edge rails include inwardly facing open-sided channels that receive and hold side edges of the flexible sign panels on one or both sides of the intermediate members. Upper and lower plates cover the top and bottom sides of the sign. Horizontal or vertical reinforcing members positioned on the intermediate member for larger signs support the sign panels between the edges. The edge rails can be decorative extruded aluminum members that are attached in different lengths to a variety of intermediate members. A channel member can be mounted between the edge rails to receive the ends of sign panels that extend only part of the way between the edge rails and the side of the intermediate member.

Abstract: A display is described of the type including a supporting frame that includes track members in spaced relation to define a channel therebetween to receive signage material. The device includes a containment clip operatively associated with the display and moveable between opened and closed positions. The clip includes at least one channel blocking portion connected to a pin member for securing the clip to the display. In the closed position, the channel blocking portion blocks the channel to prevent exiting of the signage material. In the opened position, the channel blocking portion is sufficiently displaced from the channel to allow removal or replacement of the signage material in the channel.

Abstract: A warning sign for mounting on a structural member, such as a cross arm of a utility pole, has an elongated U-shaped support member and a warning message disposed thereon. The warning sign is installed on the structural member by a utility worker at ground level by pushing it upward onto the structural member, about which it locks and cannot be easily removed. The support member and warning message are preferably extruded from high-density polyethylene which includes ultraviolet (UV) inhibitors.

Abstract: A display module for an illuminated display device is provided having a flexible, non-self-supporting, at least substantially translucent sheet and a plurality of spaced apart, horizontally disposed divider members positioned on one side of the sheet. Each of the divider members may include a retaining structure for retaining portions of display members in a predetermined position. A plurality of display members having translucent portions are positioned between spaced apart sets of divider members. An illuminated display device is also provided which includes a housing having an opening, at least one lighting source inside the housing for projecting light through the opening, and a display module. A method of assembling a display module in accordance with the invention is further provided.

Abstract: A menu system comprises a frame that receives interchangeable menu sections with different heights such that sections of various heights are combined to fill the frame space. The menu sections have a central web with upper and lower front channels that receive a presentation strip. Clips, catches, latches, and magnets are used to secure the menu sections in the frame. A preferred menu section uses upper and lower middle web portions attached to web ends. An end cap at the end of a menu section prevents inadvertent loss of presentation strips from the menu section. The end cap can be formed from resilient matter and latched to a web end.

Abstract: A sign assembly having a support surface including a first side frame portion, a second side frame portion and a back plate. The first side frame portion includes a longitudinal first recess having a bottom and a top, and the second side frame portion includes a longitudinal second recess having a bottom and a top. The sign assembly also includes a third side frame portion, a fourth side frame portion, a front panel and a locking pin. At least one of the third side frame portion and the fourth side frame portion includes at least one protuberance. The front panel includes a first side, a second side, a third side and a fourth side. The locking pin is adapted to be inserted into the longitudinal second recess.

Abstract: A sign frame includes a slot for receiving one or more sign panels. The sign frame is attached to and remains on a sign post, with the sign panels being readily removable for replacement or for changing the displayed information on the sign panels. The sign frame can have a style, such as a color or appearance, matching the aesthetic style of the community, while the sign panels can be standard signs used throughout a city or state.

Abstract: An elongated tubular support (10) is mounted in a stationary position (FIGS. 6 and 7) for rotation about a horizontal (FIGS. 1 and 2) or vertical (FIG. 5) axis. A spring biased detent (66, 70, 72) is positioned between the support member (10) and a stationary mounting member (68). The detent (66, 70, 72) permits the display panel (DP) to be swung in position about a first position (FIG. 1) and a second position in which it is positioned about 180 degrees from the first position (FIG. 2).

Abstract: A placard holder apparatus and method is provided. The apparatus includes a bracket mounted to a vehicle that is operative to transport a hazardous material. The bracket is operative to slidingly receive and engage with a placard holder. A placard clip may be mounted to the vehicle to prevent the placard holder from exiting the bracket. The placard holder includes a tray with a cavity of sufficient depth to hold a stack of adhesively mounted placards. For each shipment of a hazardous material in the vehicle, a placard with indicia representative of a hazard classification corresponding to the hazardous material may be adhesively mounted in the cavity of the tray. Once the cavity is filled with placards, the placard holder may be removed and replaced with an empty or less full placard holder. The full placard holder may be discarded or recycled to remove the adhesively mounted placards therein.

Abstract: A selectively reversible message board has a first face of the message board which displays one or more message cards, either preprinted, containing common messages such as “OUT OF GAS”, “FLAT TIRE”, etc., or hand written. The message board may be reversed and the second face is adapted to receive a hand written message. Reversible suction cups are retained in keyhole shaped openings so as to minimize damage to the suction cup tabs when they are reversed. A flashing signal lamp is reversibly mountable on either face of the message board and serves to call attention to the message board and the stopped vehicle. The message board and accessories are provided in a kit contained in a reclosable bag. Storage inside the passenger compartments allows convenient configuration and deployment of the message board without need for any vehicle occupant to leave the vehicle.

Abstract: A readerboard signage system which allows signage characters to be easily changed within a pair of parallel extending tracks. In the illustrative embodiments, the system includes an optically transparent character protective viewing panel that is placed over the sequence of characters held in place within the pair of parallel extending tracks. The panel includes a lip portion which cooperates with the lower character holding track, to prevent rain, ice, and snow from entering the tracks, while the viewing panel itself protects the underlying characters from such natural elements and vandalism, without detracting from the utility and aesthetic appearance of the system.
