Abstract: A furniture system is particularly adapted to support group activities in open plans, and the like. A plurality of columns support an overhead framework on the floor of a building in a freestanding fashion at a predetermined elevation, generally above average user height. A plurality of individual panels are provided, wherein each panel is constructed to permit easy, manual, bodily translation of the same by an adult user. A hanger arrangement is associated with the overhead framework, and cooperates with connectors on the panels to detachably suspend the panels at various locations along the overhead framework. The panels are manually reconfigurable between many different arrangements to efficiently and effectively support different group activities. Preferably, the panels are capable of providing a partitioning function to visually divide at least a portion of the workspace, and/or a display function to facilitate group communications.

Abstract: An extensible and retractable display device for wheeled luggage comprises a plurality of panels which extend and retract upon extension and retraction, respectively, of the display device. The display device is attached to a telescoping handle for the luggage and retracts and extends along with the retraction and extension, respectively, of the telescoping handle.

Abstract: The extendible parking guide with overhead track is an improved parking guide device for positioning a motor vehicle in an enclosed garage or similar parking area. The extendible parking guide includes a set of varying length rods which can be assembled into a longer rod device of various lengths. The top section of the extendible parking guide features a hook. The bottom section of the extendible parking guide is brightly colored for easy visibility. The extendible parking guide is hung from an overhead track which is fastened to the ceiling of the garage above a vehicle's windshield. The overhead track contains numerous openings along its length which allow the parking guide to be hung in different lateral positions, so that the parking guide makes contact with the windshield of the vehicle.

Abstract: A decorative and functional fixture, which is capable of functioning as a sheetlike object hanger for vertically holding sheetlike objects, includes a front fixture having a substantially flat supporting surface at a rear side, wherein at least a rail groove is vertically extended on the supporting surface; at least a holding ball, which is rotatably disposed in the respective rail groove; and a rear supporting panel, which is integrally connected to the rear side of the front fixture, having a front holding surface extending behind the rail groove and the supporting surface to define a holding gap between the front holding surface and the supporting surface means and a back surface for mounting the rear supporting panel onto a vertical or slanted supporting surface. Whereby, the holding ball will move upward and inward into the rail groove when a sheetlike object is slidably placed up and into the holding gap. The hangtag may contain a die-cut slit or a die-cut tongue at a predetermined space above the flap to partially accommodate the last note sheet in order to further secure the notepaper pad. In addition, the hangtag may contain one or a plurality of slits communicating outwardly from the aperture for easy mounting on a projection. Furthermore, the hangtag may contain lateral scored fold-lines across the top, the mid-section, and the bottom of the writing instrument holding slits to facilitate the ease of insertion of writing instrument.

Abstract: A kit of parts and assembly of parts configured to create a sign system frame for accepting and displaying flexible signage of substantially uniform vertical dimension. One or more substantially uniformly parallel pairs of rail sections are provided each having an outer edge and inner edge. The rail sections have substantially uniform cross sections and longitudinal axes wherein the inner edge of the rail sections are provided with separator slots and signage slots for accepting and frictionally retaining the flexible signage and separator panels. The separator panels are employed to maintain pairs of rail sections parallel to one another at a distance approximating the uniform vertical dimension of the signage.

Abstract: An apparatus for displaying merchandise, the apparatus having a base, a pole, and a means for securing the pole in a substantially vertical orientation on the base. A sign holder is preferably attached to an upper end of the pole. A bracket member is preferably secured adjacent the upper end of the pole. The bracket member has at least one prong for supporting one or more sets of disposable receptacles for umbrellas. The means for securing is preferably an insert detachably engaged within a generally cylindrical opening of the base. The insert comprises a generally cylindrical body having a generally cylindrical opening passing through at least an upper portion thereof. A plurality of longitudinal ribs extend radially outward from the body. Outer longitudinal edges of the ribs are sized to tightly abut against the generally cylindrical opening of the base to thereby maintain the insert in a substantially vertical orientation relative to the base.

Abstract: A dependingly supported self-righting frame for displaying a replaceable sign and having an upwardly extending hook traversing the top edge of a room dividing panel and a stabilizer extending in opposed directions from the hook along the top edge of the panel. The frame includes a base attached to a depending leg of the hook and a pair of parallel opposed channels extending from the base to slidably retain the sign within the channels. The hook prevents movement of the sign away from the underlying panel surface and the stabilizer prevents pivotal movement of the sign in the plane of the panel surface.

Abstract: A large poster mounting frame is provided for displaying a poster along the wall of a building structure. The poster mounting frame comprises a pair of vertical side guide rails and a support rail extending between and connecting the two side guide rails. The frame can be mounted directly on the side of the building structure. The rails have a U-shaped cross-section with the open portion facing inwardly to form a continuous channel. A pair of grooved wheels are rotatably mounted on the support rail and hoist lines are directed over the grooved wheels and are connected to an upper poster carrying rail attached to the upper edge of a large poster. The lower edge of the poster includes a lower carrying rail. The hoist lines are used to raise the poster along with the upper and lower carrying rail into sliding contact with the side guide rails of the frame until the poster is securely mounted and displayed within the frame.

Abstract: An apparatus, adapted to be attached to a crib having a mattress, includes includes a frame configured to receive and hold an object while allowing the object to be seen, fasteners connected to the frame and adapted to releasably secure the frame to the crib above the mattress, and a depending member connected to the frame and having a length sufficient to extend underneath the mattress from the frame when the frame is secured to the crib by the fasteners.

Abstract: An outdoor sign construction comprising an inverted U-shaped wire frame and a rectangular corrugated plastic face panel. The sign face panel is retained on a horizontal header section of the frame between vertical frame legs by a resilient extruded plastic channel assembled around the header and out the top edge of the panel. The panel can be allowed to swing on the frame header or can be fixed against such movement by optional brackets. A secondary header and auxiliary sign panel can be assembled on the frame.

Abstract: A window art display mounting system for attachment to a frame of a window of a home or other building includes a horizontal mounting member that attaches to the window frame. The horizontal mounting member has secured to it a pair of brackets. A further pair of brackets are connected to a frame for the displayed art. Decorative chains extend between the two pairs of brackets to suspend the frame between the top and the bottom of the window so that the translucent pane of the framed and displayed art work is illuminated by light through the window.

Abstract: An advertising display sign device particularly useful for real estate signs and similar displays. The device incorporates an inner frame in the general shape of a hollow rectangle, which is constructed with a length and height greater than its thickness. A narrow drawer is pivotally mounted near the bottom of the inner frame to tip outwardly through an opening in one of its minor sides; so that access may be made to the open top of the drawer. Because the pivot is on the forward edge of the drawer, the drawer returns to its closed position by gravity whenever it is released. Top, bottom and first and second end clamping members which fit together, are attached to the frame and extend a short space out from the opposing faces of the assembly. These clamping members hold in place first and second display panels, which are placed on both sides of the assembly to form an advertising surface.

Abstract: A method for quickly and easily attaching and removing a sign from a rope. The sign has a split-T portion defining flexible arms. The arms are bent to allow the rope to slide through transition slots to ultimately enter rope engaging channels. The arms are then released so that the transition slots have a width which restricts passage of the rope, thereby confining the rope to the rope engaging channels. The deflecting portions of the arms are located near the center of the sign to correspond with the natural position of a person's thumbs when holding the sign. The sign allows a new method for attaching a sign to a rope to be used, in which both arms are simultaneously bent from the center of the sign to insert the rope in the rope engaging channels.

Abstract: A food vending area display structure for mounting on a counter top or other support surface comprising a front row of posts mounted on the support surface so as to extend upward therefrom, a plurality of display headers extending between adjacent posts in the row to identify separate dispensing areas, and a plurality of resilient transverse structural members extending between adjacent posts in the row to enable the posts to support one another in reacting to horizontal loads so that the posts need not pass through the support surface. The resilient transverse structural members may comprise curved metal grill bars having fittings at their ends which enable them to be fastened to the vertical posts by conventional hose clamps to facilitate assembly.

Abstract: A sign mounting system for adjustably mounting a sign such as a sheet or panel to an associated structure includes an elongated frame portion mountable to the sign and a mounting element for mounting the frame to the structure. The frame portion includes a central runner and side walls extending generally transversely from the runner. The side walls are spaced from one another and in conjunction with the runner define a track. The side walls each terminate in a lip spaced from the runner a first predetermined distance. The mounting element includes a cam having first and second sliding surfaces spaced from one another a distance substantially equal to the first predetermined distance, and first and second camming surfaces spaced from one another a distance greater than the first predetermined distance.

Abstract: A display arrangement for sheet-type materials including a fastening system having a malleable metal hook set which supports an adhesive/magnetic sandwich for suspending a metal backing plate that magnetically retains an image affixed to a display sheet, wherein display sheets are applied onto conventional shutters of doors and windows by a metallic hanger strip having a bent end hook set for bending into engagement with the lower edges of a louver, an adhesive layer, a magnetic sheet adhered to the adhesive surface on both front and rear of the metallic sheet, a second metal sheet which attaches magnetically to the magnetic sheet; and a display sheet having a magnetic backing layer which attaches to the galvanized metal sheet.

Abstract: A sign post kit having an anchor post member is secured to the ground by a pair of stakes driven through two PVC pipes disposed in diagonally opposite corners thereof, a main post member is slid over a portion of the anchor post member and stake combination and securely snapped into place, and an arm member is snapped onto the main post member. A brochure holder is formed out of one end of the arm member and is covered by a flap. Signs are hung from the arm member or ride on top of the arm member. A flag can be inserted into a flag pole holder formed in the top the main post member or in a portion of the arm member. A stake puller jack is provided for removing the stakes from the ground.

Abstract: An apparatus for displaying a banner includes left and right end pieces, each including a hinged bracket. Each bracket includes a guide portion having a substantially planar guide surface, and a hook portion. Cross-members extend between the end pieces to form a generally rectangular display fame. A light bar is provided which fits into cut-away portions of the brackets. A second display frame with brackets is also provided with cut-away portions for the light bar.

Abstract: A reusable sign/banner system which includes flexible static cling vinyl indicia and a sheet of flexible, smooth, non-porous, flaccid plastic material. The indicia are electrostatically adhered to the plastic sheet. The indicia are cut in a plurality of shapes and forms as to form letters, numbers and symbols for the purpose of creating signs and banners to communicate words, numerical expressions and directions. In use, the indicia are peeled from a plasticized paper backing sheet and applied to the flexible, smooth, non-porous plastic material in a variety of configurations. The banner material can be hung by grommets installed in the sheet of flexible, smooth, non-porous plastic material or displayed against any irregular or curved surface or hung across open spaces. Both the static cling vinyl and the flexible, smooth, non-porous plastic material can be provided in a variety of colors to facilitate visibility.

The unit is controlled and powered by a portable elongate control device operable by a person on the floor to raise and lower signs by engaging the ceiling unit with the control device. Guide members radially extend from the ceiling unit to facilitate engagement by the control device.

Slots extend through the bracket and are sized to receive sign clips that are affixed to the back of a sign. Use of the sign display device permits attaching a secondary sign to a main sign or poster display, with the bracket concealed by the secondary sign and standing out from the surface of the main sign for increased or enhanced visual recognition.

Abstract: An infant mobile or other toy has a main housing which is attached to a crib, travel bed, changing table or other article of infant's furniture. For use with a furniture piece such as a crib with slatted sides, a screw on a pressure knob is threaded into the housing to clamp the slats are clamped between the pressure knob and a vertical clamping surface on the housing. For other furniture items such as travel beds and changing tables which have configurations unsuitable for use with such a pressure knob, a clamping assembly is used. The clamping assembly has a base which is removably attached to the housing, a bracket mounted on the base, and a screw threaded to an arm of the bracket. By rotating the screw, a part of the furniture piece can be clamped between a pressure pad on the screw and a vertical clamping surface on the base. To position the mobile over an infant when the base is attached at or near a corner of the furniture piece, the base is wedge shaped.

One or more substantially uniformly parallel pairs of rail sections are provided each having an outer edge and inner edge. The rail sections have substantially uniform cross sections and longitudinal axes wherein at least one of the rail sections is provided with an open region at its outer edge for accepting connectors for connecting the frame to a support. The inner edge of the rail sections are provided with separator slots and signage slots for accepting and frictionally retaining the flexible signage and separator panels. The separator panels are employed to maintain pairs of rail sections parallel to one another at a distance approximating the uniform vertical dimension of the signage.

The modular components include display envelopes, a modular support, a hanger, and a suspension medium (i.e. thread). Each of the display envelopes are capable of simultaneously displaying two pictures. The display envelopes are suspended from the modular support via the suspension medium. The hanger is centrally located along the length of the modular support and facilitates hanging the modular support and the associated display envelopes from an external structure. The modular support and interconnected display envelopes are optimally balanced by the alignment of the hanger. In particular, the modular support and the associated display envelopes are balanced by longitudinally sliding the hanger along the modular support.

A plurality of vertically disposed description zones are along one edge of the front surface, and a plurality of vertically disposed locator zones are along the other edge of the front surface. A plurality of vertically disposed locator zones are along the other edge of the front surface. Each description zone is laterally offset from a related locator zone, with each description zone having distinctive indicia. Each of the locator zones has distinctive indicia with the description indicia and locator indicia in related pairs, laterally offset from each other. A vertically disposed support region is located between the description zones and the locator zones.

Abstract: A banner construction for securing to an anchor. The construction comprises a banner made of a predetermined material of rectangular shape having four corners. A rigid plastic sheet having opposite faces is enveloped within the material at each corner. The opposite faces are secured to the material with adhesives so as to form an integral corner section. Aligned apertures through the material and sheet are provided at each corner. Resilient shock absorbers means are releasably securable to the apertures at each corner.

Abstract: An anti-rotation assembly for supportively hanging signs or the like, comprising a ceiling anchor having a clip which permits attachment of a suspender rod thereto. Each clip/anchor relationship with the suspender rod prevents rotation therebetween. The lower end of the suspender rod also has a hooked end which engages a further clip attached to a sign. This further clip and hook relationship at the lower end of the suspender rod also prevents rotation therebetween. The complete assembly being sufficiently rigid so as to prevent any rotation of the sign with respect to the anchor which itself is attachable to a horizontal portion of a window casing or a ceiling.

Abstract: The downwardly opening hooks of the front and back upper corners of the hanging files are connected to support members slideably mounted on a flexible wire which has stops mounted thereon to position each file relative to the others. The handle mounted on the wire eases carrying the files and serves as the hanging point when the file are hung on a wall or the like. When so hung the files are vertically spaced in an overlapping manner facilitating access to the files and visual determination of the contents. The files can be supported in the usual file cabinet in the usual manner. The wire does not interfere with such use.

Abstract: A wind sail sign system for mounting to existing sign structural columns and a method of raising or lowering a wind sail sign over and around other signs comprising a winch assembly and guide elements. The wind sail sign of the instant invention is constructed of lightweight materials, quick-change frame assemblies and laminated panels.

Abstract: A bracket mounting system for mounting banners, posters and the like on posts, walls and other structures is disclosed. A pair of U-shaped channel brackets are fastened to the structure, such as by conventional fasteners or gear clamps. A banner with elongated tubular support members on each end is mounted in the brackets. A button or post in the support member or on the bracket mates with a corresponding opening in the other to hold the banner in the bracket.

Abstract: An improved hanging display sign comprises boxes each having transparent e panels and a slot into which panels displaying letters are inserted to display a message. The letter panels are protected from inclement weather and from tampering by vandals by the transparent face panels and by sealing strips. A cable system is used to hold the boxes in a stack, with each box closing the opening in the top of the box below it. Drawing the cables tight holds the boxes together in a stack to form a weatherproof, vandal-proof display sign.

Abstract: A display holder (10) is formed from a main frame member that is a single extrusion. The main frame member includes opposite edge frame portions (28, 30) and a center panel (10). Frame portions (64, 66) snap onto the ends of a center panel (10) to complete a frame that extends entirely about the periphery of the display holder (10). The display holder (10) may be mounted by a mounting member (44) which includes a hinge strip (92). Hinge strip (92) and a pair of mounting member flanges (42, 90) may be made by a co-extrusion process. A rigid structural plastic is used to form the flanges (42, 90). A bendable, resilient plastic is used to form the hinge strip (96). The hinge strip (96) will bend in response to a side force applied to the display holder (10). Hinge strip (92) will act as a spring and will swing the display holder (10) back to its at rest position when the force is removed.

Abstract: A wall construction for display booths, sales booths and the like has two profiled braces extending parallel and at a distance from each other and have grooves which are engaged from behind in their narrow long sides. At least two support members have been hooked into the lower profiled brace on which a wall panel rests in an upright position. Tilting of the wall panel is prevented by means of an upper retaining member. The support member as well as the retaining member have a U-shaped cross-sectional form, respectively formed by a back part and two legs extending from the back part. One of the legs is inserted into the groove which is engaged from behind of the respective profiled brace, while the other leg engages a groove in the wall panel.

Abstract: An apparatus for hanging a sign from a suspended ceiling of the type including T-runners and intervening ceiling panels comprises a ceiling engaging member defined by an extruded bar having a pair of tabs attached to each end so as to extend outwardly in the horizontal top plane of the bar. The bar includes a vertically extending slot for receiving the blade of a handle by which the bar can be lifted and twisted to engage the tabs on top of the T-runners of the ceiling. A central raised button allows the bar to be rotated against the ceiling panel. A second extruded bar is attached to the first by a central coupling head which allows the second bar to rotate. The sign is attached to the second bar and suspended therefrom, the vertical plane of the sign being movable between different orientations by rotation of the second bar.
