A plurality of securement strips are provided with each being adapted for securement to the outer periphery of the frame member. The securement strips each have a front surface and a back surface. The back surface has at least one protrusion extending outwardly therefrom for being received within the apertures of the outer periphery of the frame member in an engaged orientation. The front surface has securement means thereon.Type: GrantFiled: September 22, 2000Date of Patent: February 19, 2002Inventor: Ana M. Dominguez

Patent number: 6338215Abstract: A 3-dimensional array of picture frames is arranged in a plurality of parallel planes. The picture frames are interconnected by perpendicularly extending pegs frictionally received in blind bores in the front of the rearward frame and in the back of the forward frame. Replaceable decorative sleeves surround the pegs.Type: GrantFiled: April 7, 2000Date of Patent: January 15, 2002Assignee: Umbra, Inc.Inventor: Thomas Vincent

Patent number: 6230428Abstract: A frame connector for quickly and easily attaching two picture frames together in a stable manner has a support arm and a coupling member on each end. A coupling member may be a slider, snap, wedge or spring. A slider frame support attaches easily to either metal or wood frames. A coupling member for a slider frame support may be a flat piece for screwing or nailing to a wood frame, or may be slid into the channel of a metal frame. Holes, slots or spikes for attaching to a wood frame may be incorporated into any of the coupling members. A slider frame support includes a screw hole for a screw that secures the slider support to a channel of a metal frame. A snap frame support attaches to a channel of a frame by fingers that snap into the channel. A wedge frame support secures itself in a channel of a frame by wedging itself within the channel. A spring frame support secures itself in the channel of a frame by spring-like fingers that press against the channel walls.Type: GrantFiled: October 31, 1996Date of Patent: May 15, 2001Inventor: Stephen D. Patent number: 6077598Abstract: Posterboard has different colors on its two planar surfaces, whereby the posterboard may be selected for use on the basis of either or both colors. Groups of posterboard each having different colors on opposite planar surfaces provide for reducing inventory and shelf space while providing complete color selection to the purchaser.Type: GrantFiled: April 11, 1997Date of Patent: June 20, 2000Assignee: Mafcote Industries, Inc.Inventor: Howard E. Patent number: 5794372Abstract: A molding for making picture frames having grooves in the molding edges which will form the rear face and the outer periphery of an assembled frame. These grooves may be used to receive plywood panels to make the frame deeper, as in a shadow box, or to make the frame wider. If the grooves are not used they add to the decorative effect of the frame.Type: GrantFiled: July 24, 1997Date of Patent: August 18, 1998Inventor: Gary G. Grana

Patent number: 5659991Abstract: A picture frame assembly comprises a first background panel for affixation to a wall surface, the panel having at least one aperture for releasable insertion of a picture frame therein. Tabs on the rear of the frame releasably secure the frame to slots in the panel for display of the frame in a wall hanging mode. Molding about the frame overlies the defining edge of the panel aperture. Removal of the tabs from the panel slots allows the frame to be disengaged from the panel. A leg on the rear surface of the removed frame supports the removed frame on a horizontal surface. The assembly thus presents structure allowing for picture display in wall mounted or stand alone modes.Type: GrantFiled: October 24, 1995Date of Patent: August 26, 1997Inventor: Darrell L. Kennedy

Patent number: 5617660Abstract: A display frame for a poster having a top edge and at least two side edges includes a resilient first edge support for the top edge of said poster, a pair of resilient second edge supports for at least the side edges of said poster, and a plurality of resilient fastening elements associated with said edge supports for fastening said edge supports together in a frame-like manner. A pair of generally L-shaped internal angle fittings are employed for securing the pair of second edge supports to opposite ends of the first edge support. The rear of the first edge support is positioned offset and forwardly of the rear of the second edge supports so as to define therebetween a display slot whereby a poster may be removably slid into said display frame from above, rearwardly of the first edge support with the lateral edges of said poster being slidably received in a slotted channel defined by the second edge supports.Type: GrantFiled: March 27, 1995Date of Patent: April 8, 1997Inventor: Ronald M. Patent number: 5588240Abstract: A modular picture frame system with the individual picture frames interconnecting like jigsaw puzzle pieces. Each of the puzzle piece-shaped picture frames has male and female connectors in the form of an interlocking geometric shape. These connectors are used to attach the individual frames to one another to make a collage of picture frames. Preferably, each frame is made with multiple connectors facing in different directions so that each frame can be connected with as many other frames as it has connectors. The connectors disclosed include rounded lobe-shaped connectors, dovetail connectors and polygonal geometric connectors. The frames themselves and the display openings in the frames can be virtually any geometric shape, rectangle, diamond, octagon, triangle, circle, or other curved shapes as long as the male and female connectors have sufficient clearance to connect.Type: GrantFiled: March 18, 1994Date of Patent: December 31, 1996Inventor: Kent Zilliox
