Abstract: A frame apparatus for displaying a flat article and a combined frame apparatus and flat article. In one aspect, the frame apparatus comprises an annular display frame defining a rabbet, a stack positioned in the rabbet, and an annular spacer frame. The rabbet is defined by a floor and a wall, the wall comprising a first engagement portion and a second engagement portion. The annular spacer frame is coupled to the first and second engagement portions of the annular display frame by interaction between a first and second locking member of the annular spacer frame and the first and second engagement portions of the annular display frame. The first and second locking members extend into the first and second engagement portions and apply a compression force to retain a flat article between the transparent front panel and the rear panel.

Abstract: An adjustably-sized and shaped picture frame formed of corner pieces around which are looped or woven one or more filaments such as colored yarns to form the frame borders. The frames created can be customized to various shapes and sizes. The corner pieces may be molded or molded and machined, and may have a diamond shape with inner side edges that align with outer corners of a sheet of artwork. The filament is woven around posts on both a front face and an outer corner of the corner pieces. A chamfer under a lower face of each corner piece may be used to secure free ends of the filament.

Abstract: An image display apparatus (10) for displaying one or more images (20) such as photographs. The image (20) is mounted on a raised portion (14) around which is arranged a further raised portion (16) as a mounting panel (8). The portions are separated to provide a gap (30) there between which gives the illusion that the image and the mounting panel (18) are floating. This effect accentuates the image which is additionally enhanced by the choice of color of the mounting panel (18). The portions are located on a backing panel which extends beyond the perimeter of the mounting panel to provide an additional framing feature. The backing panel (12) and mounting panel (18) are made of durably rigid materials such as Perspex® or aluminum so that the apparatus can be mounted without a frame.

Abstract: A picture frame molding according to one embodiment includes an elongated body that has an exterior wall, a first channel formed therein for receiving a first member, and a second channel formed therein for receiving a second member. The first and second channels are at least substantially parallel to one another. The elongated body also includes an interior angled wall that is joined to the exterior wall and is formed at an angle thereto. The interior angled wall includes a track that receives an object, such as matboard. The track faces away from the exterior wall and is formed between and at an angle to the first and second channels.

Abstract: Disclosed is a frame assembly including a framing member and an extrusion member. The frame assembly further includes a sheet having a graphic thereon. The sheet includes a gasket at a perimeter thereof, and the gasket is positioned in a channel of the extrusion member such that the channel supports the sheet.

Abstract: Systems and methods for producing an accessorizable frame system comprising a display plate, a frame plate, and an attachment, which selectively and releaseably holds the display plate away from the frame plate, are disclosed. In some cases, the attachment that connects the display plate to the frame plate includes a clip that extends from the display plate and which is configured to be received in a corresponding opening within the frame plate. In some instances, to accessorize the frame system, a user adds an aligner, a liner, a back cover, and/or any other suitable component to the frame system.

Abstract: The present invention is a multiframe and multiplanar picture holder that includes an outer frame that encloses a plurality of display frames such that each of said plurality of display frames is in contact with at least one other of said plurality of picture holders. Attachment segments within and/or around the outer frame have slots or other structures to receive extension frames each of which extend from the attachment segments. Both the display frames and the extension frames may be used to hold photos or similar display items.

Abstract: A garage door window has an outside frame member which has an inside frame member connection. The inside frame member has a protrusion connecting with the inside frame member connection. There is also an outside retainer channel, an inside retainer channel and an outside retainer fitting within the outside retainer channel, with an inside retainer fitting with the inside retainer channel. The inside retainer is nondestructively removable relative the inside retainer channel by a snap fit. An outside track is formed on the outside frame member, between a central inside face of the outside frame member and the outside retainer. An inside track is formed on the outside frame member, between the outside retainer and the inside retainer. A screen is mounted on the outside track, a fixed window mounted on the outside track; and an active window is mounted on the inside track.

Abstract: An illuminated picture frame or similar display device wherein direct illumination of a painting or other object is provided by light emitting diodes (LED's) mounted within the picture frame assembly, the LED's having defined light projection zones with an angle of less than 180 degrees, the frame further having a support assembly to receive the painting. The LED's are mounted in electrical communication in strips or strands facing to the rear of the frame member, with the mounting being at an angle determined by the LED defined light projection zone such that all emitted light is directed rearward or at most parallel to the plane of the painting, such that no direct light emitted by the LED's passes out of the framed area.

Abstract: Frame assemblies (10) for displaying sheets of advertising on portable structures such as portable toilets are adapted for durability and ease of use and maintenance. In various embodiments a frame assembly according to the invention may comprise a cover (32) for protecting sheets of advertising, a backing (34) for supporting the sheets, and various types of novel frame members (12). In other embodiments frame assemblies according to the invention can comprise sets (72, 74) of mating frame members (12), the frame members held together, when advertising is installed, at least partly by the interaction of flanges or other portions of the mating members.

Abstract: A container for a picture frame capable of withstanding temperatures of 500-1000° F. for 15 to 20 minutes that employs the use of water as its main protectant. The present invention works on the property of the phase change of water from a liquid to a gas. During the phase change the temperature of the water will remain constant until all of the water has changed to gas. At sea level this temperature is about 212° F. of 100° C. Tests showing that most photographic paper can withstand temperatures of this magnitude. This test involved putting a picture is a watertight plastic baggie and submerging it in boiling water for 20 minutes. The photograph emerged unchanged.

Abstract: The present invention is a display device configured to display sheet like materials such as photos, cards, pictures, patches, and the like. It includes an external frame with a double shoulder configuration in its internal perimeter, a lattice network formed into one or central display areas and supported by the front shoulder, and a transparent front facing a transparent rear facing supported by the rear shoulder. Display items are supported between the front facing and rear facing. Retainers of various types may be used to hold the components in place. Supports are described for mounting or otherwise displaying the display device of the present invention.

The frames are arranged in a geometric pattern to facilitate selection of an appropriate frame for cropping an image displayed on photographic media. The frames are connected to each other by an adhesive layer and substrate. Alternatively, the frames are connected by tags or micro-perfs. A transparent crop selector is used to facilitate selection of an appropriately sized frame.

Abstract: A picture frame assembly includes a main body having a receiving portion for receiving a picture. A cover with a transparent portion is attached to the main body to against and display the picture received in the main body. A first urging means is disposed between the main body and the cover to produce a first urging force to urge against the cover to firmly be attached to the main body, and as the cover is released from the main body to urge against the cover to depart from the main body in a first direction. A second urging means is disposed between the main body and the cover to produce a second urging force to urge against the cover to depart from said main body in a second direction when the cover is released from the main body.

Abstract: A system for storing and displaying pom pons is provided with a frame and a plurality of securement members positioned in a spaced-apart relationship with one another along opposite side portions of the frame. The securement members releasably secure the gripping portion of pom pons. A multi-segmented frame may be provided that allows the segments to move independently from one another. Spirit adornment may be provided to the frame as well as shaping the frame itself to exhibit such adornment. Various hanging and ground supports are provided for supporting the frames.

Abstract: A frame assembly for pictures or other objects to be displayed includes a frame having front and rear panels defining a space therebetween for receiving objects to be displayed. A support mechanism optionally provided for supporting the frame in a substantially upright position enabling pictures to be viewed through a transparent area or window formed in one or both of the front and rear panels. The front panel includes retaining members formed along edges thereof, including at least two opposed edges, and each retaining member includes an extension portion extending rearward relative to a planar portion of the front panel and an inwardly projecting ridge formed on an inward surface of the extension portion. The rear panel is designed to fit snugly between the ridges and a rear surface of the front panel. The support mechanism may be a base separable from the frame or formed integral with the rear panel.

Abstract: A frame for a sheet of a display material such as a photograph includes a backing support having a locating member to receive and locate the sheet of display material to be displayed, a transparent cover sheet for holding the display material in position while enabling the sheet to be visible and a holding member for holding the transparent cover sheet in position. The holding member is removable from the front to enable the transparent cover sheet to be removable for replacement of the sheet of display material from the front of the frame.

Abstract: A picture frame is constructed to include an outer frame, an inner frame press-fitted into the inside of the outer frame, a transparent plate and a back plate. The inner frame has a mounting groove in a back side thereof for receiving the transparent plate therein. The back plate is mounted in a back side of the inner frame and peripherally stopped against the inside wall of the outer frame and adapted for holding a picture in between the transparent plate and the back plate.

Abstract: A picture frame comprises a main body, at least one elastic member, and a press member. The main body is provided with a picture slot to accommodate a picture to be displayed. The picture slot is provided with two retaining grooves for retaining the elastic member. The press member is disposed in the picture slot such that the picture is pressed against by the press member, and that one side of the press member is urged by the elastic member, and that other side of the press member is inserted into the groove. When the press member is pushed in the direction toward the elastic member, the other side of the press member is forced out of the groove in which it is retained. The press member is thus removed from the picture slot of the main body so as to facilitate the replacing of the picture.

A magnet fits closely within the inner box. Between the outer and inner boxes, at an outer face of the composite container, a sheet of decorative or graphic material can be retained, sandwiched between walls of the outer and inner boxes. The inner and outer box elements preferably are retained together by snap-in structure, which in one preferred embodiment comprises nipples molded on the inside surface of side walls of the outer box, to be engaged in dimples or recesses at corresponding positions on the outer surface of the inner box's side walls. Both the inner and outer box elements are open at one side, and the magnet can be retained in the inner box by adhesives, fasteners or other appropriate connection devices.

Abstract: A picture frame assembly comprises a first background panel for affixation to a wall surface, the panel having at least one aperture for releasable insertion of a picture frame therein. Tabs on the rear of the frame releasably secure the frame to slots in the panel for display of the frame in a wall hanging mode. Molding about the frame overlies the defining edge of the panel aperture. Removal of the tabs from the panel slots allows the frame to be disengaged from the panel. A leg on the rear surface of the removed frame supports the removed frame on a horizontal surface. The assembly thus presents structure allowing for picture display in wall mounted or stand alone modes.

The picture is pressed against the side of the web facing away from the viewer by elastic pads, which bear against a rear wall connected to the rear side of the profiled frame. The edge and the marginal region of the sheet of glass are received by a rectangular recess of the picture frame. Since the inwardly directed web is in register with the outwardly directed further web, the face side of the picture is located in a plane behind the rear side of the picture frame.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an indexing tab for use with a sorting device including a plurality of sheet, or plate-like, divider leaves. The tab is secured to the free end of a divider leaf and includes a central body portion having a thickness greater than the thickness of the leaf and thinner elongate end portions which project outwardly from opposite ends of the body portion. The thick body portion maintains a spaced relation between the free ends of the divider leaves for inserting sheet material therebetween, and the thinner end portions provide guideway spaces into which an edge margin of a sheet may be slipped to insert a sheet between the divider leaves. Beveled exterior surfaces on the tab permit ease of insertion and removal of sheets in the device.
