Abstract: A cassette includes a substantially planar base plate having a first or bottom side and a second or top side. A slide channel capture ring or other retention structure is provided on the first side of the base plate for releasably retaining a planar light source to this side of the base plate. Another slide pocket, or other slide-in retention structure is provided on the second side of the base plate for coupling the cassette to a connector structure.

Abstract: A thin, illuminatable graphic support assembly comprising an elongated base rail having an elongated first edge and an elongated second edge; an elongated cover rail having an elongated planar portion arranged along one edge thereof, and an elongated “J” shaped portion arranged along a second edge thereof, the elongated cover rail pivotable between an open orientation and a closed graphic or panel restraining position; an elongated receiving channel arranged in the elongated second edge of the base rail, with a biasing member arranged therein, and a fixture support first channel and a fixture support second channel on an outer lower side of the base rail, to enable the illuminable graphic support assembly to be selectively secured to a wall.

Abstract: A thin, graphic support assembly comprising an elongated base rail and an elongated cover rail which come together around a board to form four sides of a frame. A spring mechanism is fully captured after the base rail and cover rail are assembled together, and the angle and position of the spring channel allows the hinge location to be at the top/outer edge of the frame. The elongated base rail and elongated cover rail can be oriented in a parallel relationship when closed for capturing a display panel or a perpendicular relationship when open for inserting or removing a display panel.

Abstract: A banner mounting assembly 10 is disclosed. The banner mounting assembly 10 includes a frame assembly 11 having a top frame 12 and a bottom frame 14 disposed beneath the top frame. The top frame 12 has four sections 12a, 12b, 12c, and 12d, and the bottom frame 14 has four corresponding sections 14a, 14b, 14c, and 14d. Clamp assemblies 20 disposed on each bottom frame section 14a, 14b, 14c, and 14d of the frame assembly 11 secure a banner 16 or other advertisement media to the frame assembly 11 after the banner 16 has been disposed within the frame assembly 11. Each of the top frame sections 12a, 12b, 12c, and 12d is hinged to the corresponding bottom frame sections 14a, 14b, 14c, and 14d, thereby allowing the top frame sections 12a, 12b, 12c, and 12d to be moved between a closed position and an open position.

Abstract: An elongated extruded snap frame member for biasedly removably capturing a display graphic for support and display thereof. The frame member comprises an elongated extruded frame receiving panel, an elongated strip of securement material applied to the frame panel at the time of extrusion and an articulable housing comprised of a cover and a plurality of articulable legs co-extruded with one another and connected to one another by a flexible web of material. A further flexible web of material connects the cover to a portion of the articulable housing, the further web of flexible material providing an axis of rotation for the cover when the cover is biasedly rotated onto the display graphic.

Abstract: Frame assemblies (10) for displaying sheets of advertising on portable structures such as portable toilets are adapted for durability and ease of use and maintenance. In various embodiments a frame assembly according to the invention may comprise a cover (32) for protecting sheets of advertising, a backing (34) for supporting the sheets, and various types of novel frame members (12). In other embodiments frame assemblies according to the invention can comprise sets (72, 74) of mating frame members (12), the frame members held together, when advertising is installed, at least partly by the interaction of flanges or other portions of the mating members.

Abstract: A novel sheet holder either with or without a board. The sheet holder comprises a base angle plate and a holding angle plate, connected by extension springs for toggling said holding angle plate between a closed position for holding said sheet and an open position for removing said sheet. Two pegs and a rubber block with groove are installed for increasing the number of held sheets and more securely holding the mounted sheets. The present sheet holding board can be rotatably mounted to the back of a picture frame with locking feature. The sheet holder without board can be applied for holding advertisement sheet for indoor and outdoor display. Novel art hanging and control system will raise and lock the art for display, and lower it to a reachable level for display change. This art may include an art sheet, 3D art, or a computer monitor showing advertisement message. For outdoor display, a clear vinyl cover can be employed for holding an art sheet and protect it from UV radiation, rain and wind damage.

Abstract: An elongated extruded snap frame member for biasedly removably capturing a display graphic for support and display thereof. The frame member comprises an elongated extruded frame receiving panel, an elongated strip of securement material applied to the frame panel at the time of extrusion and an articulable housing comprised of a cover and a plurality of articulable legs co-extruded with one another and connected to one another by a flexible web of material. A further flexible web of material connects the cover to a portion of the articulable housing, the further web of flexible material providing an axis of rotation for the cover when the cover is biasedly rotated onto the display graphic.

Abstract: A display frame having a divider for subdividing the display area. The display frame includes a plurality of frame sections forming a rectangular perimeter around a backing member. A divider is selectively located within the display area and releasbly secured by clamps on each end for subdividing the display area. The divider may be located in a horizontal, vertical or angular configuration. Alternately, the divider may be rotated substantially parallel with the frame section so as to be positioned in a stowed location.

Abstract: A sign system having components promoting ease of construction and readily accomplished changeout. Unique geometrically configured top and bottom support channels and other related components readily accommodate and capture the top and bottom edges of electronic display panels. Top and bottom shrouds attach automatically to the unique geometrically configured top and bottom support channels and include weatherstrip seals which automatically seal against the upper and lower regions of the electronic display panels. Other automatic seals are also incorporated.

Abstract: A snap frame assembly for engagably supporting a one or double sided planar display panel, comprising an elongated extruded carrier frame having an elongated housing with a central opening therein, an elongated extruded front plate slidably mounted on an elongated rigid member extending from the housing, and an elongated pivotable member flexibly attached to the housing by an elongated commonly extruded hinge. The front plate has an upper channel member which rotatively pivots on an arm extending from the housing and has a lower channel member which pivots together with a curved housing plate which comprises a portion of the housing of the carrier frame.

Abstract: A display frame having a divider for subdividing the display area. The display frame includes a plurality of frame sections forming a rectangular perimeter around a backing member. A divider is selectively located within the display area and releasbly secured by clamps on each end for subdividing the display area. The divider may be located in a horizontal, vertical or angular configuration. Alternately, the divider may be rotated substantially parallel with the frame section so as to be positioned in a stowed location.

Abstract: The subject matter of the invention under consideration is directed to picture frames that can be quickly and safely assembled, installed, and disassembled to display artwork. The picture frame has a frame member and backing that are adapted for safe, easy and removable assembly using removable attachment means, and are designed for safe use by children, elderly, and disabled adults without the need for adult assistance or supervision.

Abstract: An extruded snap frame panel arrangement assembly for the biased pinching of a display panel therewithin. The arrangement includes an elongated back frame plate, a front frame plate and a curved snap plate integrally co-extruded with the back plate and front plate, for biasedly pinching the display panel therebetween. An elongated, separately extruded cover plate is slidably attached to the curved snap plate for providing a bias to the pinching of the display panel.

Abstract: A binder for papers, photographs, or other sheet-like materials is provided with a cover having one or more window openings defined therein. A flat, transparent protective sheet is located in contact with the inside surface of the binder cover and a backing sheet overlies the protective sheet. The backing sheet is secured to the peripheral margin of the protective sheet, and elsewhere as required, to delineate at least one, and preferably a plurality of pockets. The pockets are formed between the backing sheet and the protective sheet. An elongated slit in defined through the backing sheet behind each pocket created. The peripheral edges of the backing sheet are permanently secured to the inside surface of the binder cover. Photographs or other flat display materials may be inserted into the pockets formed between the backing sheet and the protective sheet through the elongated slits. The pockets are delineated so that they are aligned with the window opening in the cover.

Abstract: A handy encasement for sign or advertisement board is essentially sustained with a couple of transverse skeletons and a couple of longitudinal skeletons. The transverse or longitudinal skeletons are equipped with a base and an upper lid combined together so as to encircle an accommodation space. A spring bow is intercalated between the base and the upper lid of the transverse skeletons such that the upper lid can keep a proper open angle with the base by its one side remains articulated with the base thereby facilitating replacement of inner components of the encasement. Jointing four mating portions between the bases and the upper lids with four corner junctions and patch members configurates a handy encasement without the need of any tools. A rectangular slot formed along inner edges of the encasement makes it possible to glaze a surface board on each surface for signs or advertisements.

Abstract: A display apparatus for securing a display item for display is provided. The display apparatus comprises a monolithic frame made of a flexible light weight material having a body formed around the periphery of a central opening within which one or more display items can be mounted; and one or more fastening mechanisms extended from the inner perimeters of the frame body inward toward center of the central opening for slidably receiving the one or more display items. Each of the fastening mechanisms comprises first and second flexible loop tongues each having inner and outer surfaces, the inner surfaces of the first and second loop tongues facing each other and approximately coplanar to provide a receiving space therebetween, such that one or more edges of at least one display item can be frictionally secured in between said receiving space by wedging open the coplanar inner surfaces of the flexible loop tongues apart for a relatively tight fit therebetween.

Abstract: A multiple component gripper extrusion for the gripping support of a poster display arrangement. The gripped extrusion comprises an elongated extruded back panel having a front face, a back face, a lower edge and an upper edge. An elongated extruded front panel with a panel leg at a proximal portion thereof and a channel at a distal edge thereof is arranged with the back panel. The front panel is integrally connected by a living hinge co-extruded simultaneously therewith. An elongated spring is adjustably disposed between the back panel and the distal edge of the front panel to permit controllable biasing of a poster supported on the back panel by the front panel.

Abstract: An improved structure of a side rail of an advertising panel includes a framework having four liftable side rails and four corner pedestals for connecting with these four side rails, and the corner pedestal is hollow and the L-shaped side of the corner pedestal is an opening. With this arrangements, these corner pedestals of the advertising panel are possible simply by lifting these side rails easily to change an advertising board fast and the latter is therefore more convenient for use to lift.

Abstract: A basic piece having a thick potion has its end engaged with an outer covering piece so as to provide a card insertion opening formed on one side portion. A card pinching piece having elasticity is disposed in a space between the basic piece and the outer covering piece and attached to the outer covering piece such that one end of the card pinching piece abuts against the basic piece.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of placarding which is characterized in that at least one sheet (1, 1b), preferably of corrugated cardboard, is provided with printed matter on at least one side. It is thereafter provided with at least one score/groove (2) crossing the sheet, about which it is thereafter folded up into an easily transportable unit. At a placarding site the sheet (1, 1b) is then unfolded to its full size and applied in a holder (3, 3b) specially intended for this. The said holder is made to retain the sheet (1, 1b) in that at least one part of an edge area of the sheet is enclosed by the holder (3, 3b). The invention also relates to a system of placarding adapted to this method.

Abstract: A changeable frame for supporting flat surfaced items such as pictures, posters, placards or the like, is provided, which includes a plurality of frame border strips which collectively form the border of the changeable frame. Each frame border strip includes a base profile member and a cover member movable between a closed item retaining position in which an item is retained by the changeable frame and the cover member partially extends over and exerts a resilient biasing force against the item and an open position. Each frame border strip also includes a pivot arrangement for pivotally mounting the base profile member and the cover member to one another. The pivot arrangement includes a fulcrum formed on the base profile member which is contacted by a counter stop surface formed on the cover member to prevent an overpivot movement of the cover member beyond its predetermined pivot travel.

Abstract: System for mounting a thin flat object such as a photograph into a curvilinear recess formed in the front of a substrate, using a curvilinear decorative flexible retaining ring. The retaining ring is retained either by interference or frictional engagement with a smooth sidewall portion of the recess wall. Optionally, a transparent protective cover may be included.

Abstract: A hinged member consists of two parts joined by a first living hinge. An upstanding nib on one of the parts is in turn joined to the other part via a strip-like rigid panel. The panel is in turn joined along its side edges by second and third living hinges. Elasticity of the living hinges provides a biassing force for urging the parts towards a closed position. The member may be arranged to form a picture hanger or a picture frame element or a hinge for joining two substrates.

Abstract: A changeable frame for supporting flat surfaced items such as pictures, posters, placards or the like, is provided, which includes a plurality of frame border strips which collectively form the border of the changeable frame. Each frame border strip includes a base profile member and a cover member movable between a closed item retaining position in which an item is retained by the changeable frame and the cover member partially extends over and exerts a resilient biasing force against the item and an open position. Each frame border strip also includes a pivot arrangement for pivotally mounting the base profile member and the cover member to one another. The pivot arrangement includes a fulcrum formed on the base profile member which is contacted by a counter stop surface formed on the cover member to prevent an overpivot movement of the cover member beyond its predetermined pivot travel.

Abstract: A frame element assembly suitable for forming the frame of a display holder, the frame element assembly having a base portion and a retaining leaf, the retaining leaf being pivotally mounted with respect to the base portion, the retaining leaf being held in a pivotal arrangement by a bow spring, the assembly being adapted such that in use the retaining leaf can pivot between an “open” position in which display material can be inserted or removed from the display holder and a “closed” position in which display material is retained within the display holder. The assembly is adapted such that the retaining leaf is removably mounted with respect to the pivot arrangement when the display holder is in its assembled state.

Abstract: A message board comprising a bulletin board fixedly mounted on a backing of heavy cardboard or other substrate, and an optional dry-erase laminate fixedly mounted onto the bulletin board. A frame is fixedly secured to the edges of the bulletin board and backing. The frame is provided with a front channel and a rear channel, each adapted to receive and firmly retain a portion of a generally "C"-shaped grip. The grip may be integrally formed with various accessories desired to be attached to the frame of the message board or other similarly shaped fixed member.

Abstract: A method of assembling a poster frame made from a plurality of frame sections, each frame section having a base member and cover member rotatably fastened together. One or more flat metal spring biasing members having a first opposed pair of smooth edges and a second opposed pair of sawtooth or irregular edges are positioned between the rotating cover and base members. The spring members are first positioned with the smooth edges in contact with the rotating members until they are aligned, and then with the sharp edges in contact with the members. The projections on the irregular edges of the spring members are preferably pointed and embed in the metal channels of the cover and base members and dig grooves therein, preventing the cover and base member from sliding longitudinally relative to one another. Various configurations of toothed and pointed members can be utilized on the opposed irregular edges of the spring biasing member.

Abstract: A front-loading poster display device with a plurality of poster frame sections positioned around and connected to a backing member. Each of the frame sections have a base member affixed to the backing member and a spring-biased cover member rotatably attached to the base member. The ends of the frame sections are mitered at 45.degree. angles. The backing member is preferably connected to the base members of each of the frame sections by "Tog-L-Locs" or other sheet metal joining mechanisms. The ball-type pintle formations in each of the hinge mechanisms connecting the base and cover members together can have one or more elongated slots or recesses therein.

Abstract: A non-sliding spring mechanism for picture and poster frames. A flat metal spring biasing member having a pair of opposed sawtooth or irregular edges is positioned between a rotating cover member and a stationary base member in each section of the frame device. The projections on the irregular edges of the spring members are preferably pointed and embed in the metal channels of the cover and base members and dig grooves therein, preventing the cover member and base member from sliding longitudinally relative to one another. Various configurations of toothed and pointed members can be utilized on the opposed irregular edges of the spring biasing member. Preferably, the irregular edges have one or more flat areas in order to prevent the spring members from embedding too deeply in the channels in the cover and base members.

Abstract: A poster display device for holding and displaying posters and advertising materials, particular in outdoor environments. A plurality of frame sections are positioned around the periphery of a backing member. The frame sections have rotating cover members which are biased by resilient members to be held in open and closed positions. A transparent protective sheet member is used to cover and protect the poster and advertising materials, and a sealing member is utilized to seal around the edges of the protective sheet member and prevent moisture and other environmental elements from coming into contact with the advertising materials and posters. The sealing members are positioned in slots, recesses, or channels in the frame sections and the force of the resilient members on the cover members holds the protective sheet materials tightly in place against the sealing members.

Abstract: A frame assembly has a backing board and elongate frame members positioned end-to-end around the periphery of the backing board. Each frame number has an edge member, with a pair of limbs positioned on opposite sides of the edge of the backing board, and clamp elements. Each clamp element has a formation which urges the limbs apart to induce a stress in the edge member which, in turn, urges the clamp elements towards the backing board. The formations of the clamp elements and the complementary edge portions of the edge member define retaining formations which retain the clamp elements captive between the edge member and the board and permit pivotal displacement of the clamp elements. The clamp elements have gripping formations configured to facilitate displacement of the clamp elements from their closed positions towards their open positions.

Abstract: A corner member for a front-loading poster or picture frame is disclosed. The corner members are assembled between adjacent frame sections which have rotating cover members hingedly attached to base members. One or more raised protrusions or ridges are provided on the surfaces of the corner members adjacent the frame sections in order to provide improved manufacturing, assembly and operation of the frame. The raised ridges keep the cover members centered between the corner members and eliminate binding during opening and closing of the frame sections.

Abstract: A clamp apparatus including a support member and a clamping arm member detachably and hingeally secured to the support member. The support member includes a first mating member of a hinge mechanism and the clamping am member includes a second mating member of the hinge mechanism. The clamp apparatus can not only rotatably and compressively clamp an elongate panel, or sheet object, or other material, but can be assembled by longitudinal engagement of the component members in a flanked, snap-fit manner. To facilitate the flanked, snap-fit formation of the hinge mechanism, the first mating member includes a resilient socket structure having an expandable opening for receiving the second mating member.

Abstract: A tamper-resistant display holder is responsive to the selective application of an external magnetic field. The display holder includes at least one frame section having an elongated front member and an elongated back member which are adapted to be interconnected to one another in a pivotal relationship for holding a display piece. The display holder further includes a magnetically attractable locking tab having first and second opposite ends. The first end is pivotally attached to the front member such that the second end is movable between a locked position and an unlocked position relative to the back member in response to the external magnetic field.

Abstract: A picture frame device which allows the framing straight members to be removed from the front of the frame device by pivotally rotating the corner joints and has a space formed in a container installed behind the exhibit or the exhibit held between holding sheets, for containing many other exhibitable sheets than the exhibit such as pictures and testimonials.
