A detector detects whether the sheet is a heat-sensitive adhesive sheet or an ordinary sheet, and a control device controls operation of the thermal activation unit so that both the thermal head and the thermal activation platen roller are operated in response to detection of a heat-sensitive adhesive sheet and so that the thermal activation platen roller but not the thermal head is operated in response to detection of an ordinary sheet.

    Abstract: Printing systems and methods that reduce inter-color bleeding between dark and light colored inks without losing productivity of a color ink jet printer by distributing the printing of a total amount of black ink required in a single swath over multiple passes while each of the color inks required for the same swath is printed in a single pass. For example, the print method may print a single swath by printing portions of the slow dry black ink in three passes while printing each of the fast dry color inks in single passes.

    Abstract: In a technique for correcting printing errors in a shuttle type multifunctional apparatus, a preset reference pattern is printed and the printed reference pattern is scanned. Then, the number of dots are detected as errors between the original reference pattern and the scanned reference pattern. After calculating a correcting value by adding and subtracting the numbers of dots corresponding to the errors to and from numbers of printing nozzles according to a resolution of the multifunctional apparatus, the multifunctional apparatus controls a moving distance of an electric line feeding motor. Accordingly, a simple operation enables the printing errors to be corrected, thereby improving the efficiency of operations in the multifunctional apparatus.
