Abstract: A method of adhering a cosmetic pressed powder product or a stick type applicative product (e.g. a lipstick) inside a receptacle therefor is disclosed. The receptacle comprises a casing having a top end and a base end with a receiving base member disposed at the base end, and the receiving base member has an inner surface. The base member may be designed or adapted to be moveable inside the casing to advance and retract the product. The method comprises applying a silicone hot melt adhesive composition in liquid form to at least part of the inner surface of the receiving base member; inserting the product into the receiving base member on or in the silicone hot melt adhesive composition while still in liquid form; and cooling, and optionally curing, the silicone hot melt adhesive to adhere the product inside the receptacle. Retained-products formed via the method are also disclosed.

An inner retainer with a gripping mechanism is adapted to grip a consumable product held therein. That is, in one embodiment, a piece of graphite is gripped inside a mechanical pencil. The inner retainer, held within the outer housing, and a ballast attached to the inner retainer, are rotatable with respect to the outer housing. The ballast rotates the gripping mechanism and the consumable product. In this manner, a user desiring to have the tip of the consumable product always in the same orientation as he writes, may use this device to do so. A damper and detent mechanism may be employed to prevent harmonic movement or turning of the consumable product during writing.

An insert is placed between the two retention jaws, which then close to secure the insert between the retention jaws. The locator receptacle receives the locator insert from the second semi-cylindrical retention jaw, helping to align the two retention jaws. The plurality of stake pins impale the insert, holding it in place. In addition to being secured by the stake pins, the insert is supported by an interior ridge. The insert assembly can then be slid into a barrel sleeve, held in place by a press fit or by a removable mounting system, such as a lug mount.

The columned lipstick is arranged inside the upper case and capable of being pushed out from the upper case. The cap can cover upon the upper case. The driving mechanism has a push button exposed out of a lower end of the lower case for being pressed. The lipstick will be raised up with a predetermined distance by a singe press of the push button so that the use of the lipstick is well controlled. Through above components, the press lipstick assembly is portable and easy to handle.

In a smart pen, the writing cartridge is biased towards a first side of the smart pen internal cavity by a low-force biasing system without affecting writing cartridge movement. For example, the writing cartridge is comprised of a magnetic material and a magnet is embedded into the first side of the smart pen internal cavity to bias the writing cartridge towards the first side. Alternatively, the material comprising the writing cartridge or smart pen internal cavity is modified, reducing friction between the components. As another alternative, a DSP method identifies analyzes one or more parameters of received audio data to differentiate click noise from audio data, and may receive data from a movement sensor indicating when the writing cartridge has moved to reduce power consumption for identifying click noise.
