Hand-or Finger-receiving Pocket Patents (Class 401/7)
  • Patent number: 4696593
Abstract: A car washing mitt constituting a flexible glove adapted to be worn on the hand of a user, having a palm pad formed of sponge material, and a liquid soap reservoir also mounted on the glove. A flexible water hose may be connected to a control device mounted on the glove, and the control device includes a manually operable selector valve, which may be set to deliver water selectively either directly to the interior of the pad, or to the interior of the pad after intermixture thereof with soap from the reservoir, or to a jet directed forwardly from the tip of the glove for rinsing purposes.

  • Patent number: 4665901
Abstract: A disposable finger applicator adapted to facilitate the application of a two-component therapeutic agent to gum tissues for treating periodontal disease. The applicator includes a collapsible thimble which when in use fits on the index finger of the user, the thimble being bonded to the rear wall of a small envelope formed of opaque, non-stretchable film material containing a charge of hydrogen peroxide in an aqueous solution. Marginally secured to the front wall of the envelope and otherwise spaced therefrom to define an internal cavity is an outer layer of porous, sponge-like material, the cavity being filled with dry sodium bicarbonate powder. The front wall of the envelope is provided with a weakened zone, such that when the finger applicator is pressed by the user against gum tissue, the hydrogen peroxide solution trapped in the envelope then ruptures the weakened zone, thereby causing the solution to leak into the cavity and to intermingle with the sodium bicarbonate powder.

  • Patent number: 4596481
Abstract: A sheet assembly for polishing work is provided. A non-woven fabric sheet and a non-permeable thick sheet are bonded together to define a first chamber. Further, a second chamber to contain a shoe polish therein is defined within said first chamber by a non-permeable but easily rupturable film such as a polyethylene sheet. The non-woven fabric sheet or the non-permeable thick sheet is formed with apertures therein. The shoe polish contained in the second chamber is discharged therefrom and further through the apertures to the outside of the sheet assembly when manually pressed from outside such that the shoe polish is ready for application onto shoes such that the shoes are shined by use of the non-woven fabric portion.

  • Patent number: 4474195
Abstract: A device for treating the fingernails and particularly for removal of nail polish from the nails, the invention provides a treatment container having an absorbent member disposed therein which is soaked with a liquid nail polish removal solvent, at least one finger being received within an aperture formed in the absorbent member to contact the nail with the solvent and with surfaces of the aperture to remove a polish coating from the nail. The invention particularly provides a supply container on which the treatment container can be carried, the interior of the supply container connecting with the interior of the treatment container through a valve in a cap element closing the supply container, thereby to allow liquid nail polish removal solvent stored within the supply container to be dispensed as desired into the treatment container.

  • Patent number: 4349288
Abstract: Disclosed are personal cleansing articles for the recto-genital region, and offering especial convenience to travelers and others without ready access to dressing rooms and conventional bathing facilities. The articles generally comprise a laminar washcloth member, there being below the hydrophilic uppersurface thereof a liquid chargeable laminar-pouch with the pouch-throat being preferably relegated to the washcloth uppersurface that washably contacts the recto-genital anatomy. The user's outstretched hand, with the thumb extending into a thumbway component, supports the washcloth member; thus, this hand controllably expels cleansing liquid from the laminar-pouch toward the contacted recto-genital anatomy. There are desireably hand-engaging means (preferably offering fingertips protection) and hydrophobic barrier means between the laminar-pouch and the hand-engaging means. Foldably extending towel member, as well as other optional and interdependent features are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 4154542
Abstract: A shower mitt with two flat sheets of terry cloth double-seamed together around the outline edge to provide a hand-receiving pocket in which there is an elastic band to provide wrist-hugging. A pair of loops are stitched into the seam between the flat sheets. A wide mesh sheet of nylon net is attached around its edges to the outer face of one sheet to provide a fully enclosed soap-retaining pocket, in which an opening is cut through the sheet and a zipper placed therein, so that it may be opened for putting soap into the soap-retaining pocket and then closed.

  • Patent number: 3952867
Abstract: A disposable tooth cleaning apparatus including a sealed package having first and second separate compartments. The first compartment includes ingestible toothpaste for cleaning the teeth which can be swallowed without causing any unpleasantness and therefore does not require mouth rinsing or available water facilities. The second compartment includes an applicator having an opening and is sized and shaped for insertion over a finger whereby the teeth may be brushed by the finger after applying the toothpaste to the applicator. The applicator includes an outer layer having a soft absorbent non-woven fabric for supporting the toothpaste and moisture with the non-woven fabric being interwoven with reenforcing fibers which support the outer layer and provide a scrubbing surface for cleaning the teeth. The applicator also includes an inner layer of plastic bonded to the outer layer for providing a support backing to the outer layer and for keeping the finger dry.

  • Patent number: 3947132
Abstract: The application discloses a writing instrument adapted to be worn on a forefinger, thereby allowing the user of the instrument to pursue his normal activities without interruptions necessitated by picking up and setting down a writing instrument each time it is needed.Accordingly, the writing instrument of the present invention includes a holder adapted to fit on the end of a finger and having interior constriction rings enabling the holder to firmly grip normal variations in the forefinger of either an adult male, an adult female or a child.A substantially conically shaped writing means is firmly affixed to the holder and may be characterized by either an ink or crayon writing capability. In the ink embodiment, the writing means includes a conically shaped ink reservoir having an appropriate writing tip engaging the apex thereof and an air-vented capillary tube to insure uniform ink flow.
