  • Patent number: 9597488
Abstract: Apparatus for applying rub-on and roll-on topical products such as medications, pain relievers, deodorants, cosmetics, and any other product having a built in applicator to the user's skin surface in hard-to-reach locations without undo strain or injury. The apparatus comprises a chamber assembly and an elongated handle. The chamber assembly comprises a rounded hollow T-shaped body having a protrusion on one side with a threaded inner surface to receive the elongated handle. The elongated handle has a threaded end that is deeper than the protrusion of the chamber assembly. When a container is placed into the chamber assembly from the top section and the elongated handle is hand-tightened, the threaded end comes in contact with the container and holds it securely in place, allowing the user to apply rub-on and roll-on medications and other products to hard-to-reach places of the body without undo strain or injury.

Abstract: A new lip balm, cosmetic, or personal care product dispenser using a non-lethal shotgun shell hull that will accept an industry standard 0.15 ounce twist-base balm dispenser, providing increased turning friction and a tighter fitting cap. A new type of lip balm dispenser that solves the problems associated with old standard tubular balm dispensers. Standard 0.15 ounce lip balm tubes have a knurled twist base that inadvertently rotates in your jacket or pants pocket while people are engaged in outdoor activities such as walking, working, biking, hiking, hunting or fishing. As the tube base twists inside your pocket, the balm itself is wormed outward and mashed into the cap, creating a gooey mess. Also, standard lip balm tube caps come off easily in your pocket which is another big messy problem. The newly invented dispenser prevents a gooey mess in your pocket, purse, jacket or luggage.

Abstract: The present invention provides a drawing tool for an artist, draughtsman or hobbyist etc., the drawing tool comprising a handle and a retaining means disposed on the handle. The retaining means being adapted to releasably retain an elongate drawing material, such as a graphite lead, in an orientation substantially transverse to the axis of the handle. In use, manipulation of the handle and selective application of pressure to the elongate drawing material enables the drawing material to be applied to a drawing surface to thereby control the degree of shading on the drawing surface. The hand tool has particular application to reliably rendering gradients when shading with graphite and chalk etc. To be accompanied, when published, by FIG. 1 of the drawings, deposit varying thicknesses of graphite on the paper to modify the gradient of the shading.

Abstract: In a stick-shaped material propelling container capable of propelling and retracting a stick-shaped material, the influence of variation of the dimension of the stick-shaped material can be made small. An inner barrel is slidably inserted in an outer barrel, an elastic body which urges the inner barrel rearward is provided between the inner barrel and the outer barrel, a chuck piece which holds a stick-shaped material is provided at a tip end portion of the inner barrel, and a chuck ring is inserted between the chuck piece and the outer barrel. A cross section of the stick-shaped material forms a triangular shape, the frictional force applying part which is in contact with the stick-shaped material to apply a frictional force is formed on an inner peripheral surface of the outer barrel, and the frictional force applying part abuts on a side in the vicinity of a vertex of the stick-shaped material in a cross section of the stick-shaped material.

Abstract: The substance application bar includes an application portion having an exterior surface and an interior surface and configured for applying a substance to a receiving surface and at least one blocking extension extending adjacent the interior surface of the application portion to define a retaining recess therebetween. The blocking extension and the interior surface are associated to cooperatively substantially block movement of an object received in the retaining recess in a direction generally along the interior surface against the blocking extension. The substance application bar may also include at least one bar-preserving extension associated with the interior surface to maintain a portion of the recess open to the atmosphere. This facilitates air flow through and drying of the recess for resisting deterioration of the bar. An assembly of application bars in stacked association also is included.

Abstract: Lip balm strip is a sheet of material that conveniently dispenses a single application of lip balm. The lip balm strip consists of a pre-folded sheet of material that has been sealed shut with an adhesive. The lip balm strip contains lip balm on the top and bottom surface. A section of the lip balm strip is not covered in lip balm which provides a clean surface to hold the strip. The folded side of the lip balm strip is entered into the mouth and the lips are pressed down to apply the lip balm. The folded side of the lip balm strip provides a smooth edge to prevent injury to the mouth. The lip balm strip is individually wrapped to preserve the strip for use. The lip balm strip is a new, easy, efficient, sanitary and environmentally friendly way to use, carry and share lip balm.

Abstract: A system for providing an expiration month on cosmetic containers that store perishable make-up media including a container, a control, and a handle portion formed on the control. The handle portion has a greater outer diameter than an outer diameter of an exterior surface of the control wherein the greater outer diameter prevents the handle portion from entering the container, and a plurality of date-months formed on the exterior surface of the control in a sequential order in a first circumferential direction. The handle portion rotates the control in a second circumferential direction that is opposite the first circumferential direction thereby changing the date-months until the desired expiration date-month is visible in the aperture.
