Abstract: Materials and apparatus are provided that include an enhanced evaporative component. A solid antiperspirant composition includes an antiperspirant agent disposed within the solid antiperspirant composition. Further, the solid antiperspirant composition includes an enhanced evaporative component disposed within the solid antiperspirant composition. The enhanced evaporative component includes a first spreading agent configured to reduce the surface tension of perspiration molecules. The enhanced evaporative component also includes a volatile to increase the volatility of perspiration molecules. Still further, the enhanced evaporative component includes an entrapment material disposed within the solid antiperspirant composition to contain the volatile.

Abstract: A fluid dispenser including a fluid reservoir and a body receiving a dispenser member that is connected to the reservoir and an actuator member for actuating the dispenser member; a dispenser and diffuser head forming a fluid dispenser orifice and an application wall for applying the fluid coming from the dispenser orifice onto the skin; a module having a source of radiation emitting monochromatic light of 400 nm to 700 nm and having anti-inflammatory action and/or a stimulating action for stimulating skin-regeneration metabolisms. The dispenser and diffuser head include a source housing and the body includes a module housing communicating with the source housing so that the source of radiation extends in the source housing of the head.

Abstract: The adjustable-length writing instrument is a pen or pencil cartridge fixed inside a substrate that is folded into an inner and outer portion such that the inner portion slides inside the outer portion to adjust the length of the instrument. In its extended length, the instrument is standard length, ready for writing and fitting comfortably in the hand. In its contracted length, the instrument is much shorter for easy storage, and the outer portion extends over the pen or pencil cartridge to prevent unintended markings. The instrument is light, flexible, simple, and it can be reconfigured from contracted to extended (or visa versa) with one-hand in about one second.

Abstract: A shaped crystalline deodorant is made from mixture of a mineral salt and water which is heated above the melting point of the salt, placed in a mold having the desired shape, and crystalized after insertion of an internally threaded member into the mixture. The deodorant has an oval cross-sectional shape with the insert imbedded therewithin and is secured into a container. The container includes a threaded stem attached to the container for rotational movement which is translated to axial movement of the deodorant with respect to the container. The threaded stem cooperates with the internally threaded insert to allow the crystallized deodorant to be moved up or down within the container by rotating the threaded stem.

Abstract: An extendible stylus includes a body and an extension telescopically engaged with the body. The stylus may be extended to an open position and collapsed to a closed position, where opposite ends of the stylus are farther apart in the open position. A first, internal detent mechanism of the stylus retains the stylus in the open position. A stop mechanism preferably holds the stylus in the closed position. A receptacle, such as a hole in a case of a portable computer, is engageable with the stylus such that a second, external detent mechanism is provided between the case and the stylus to retain the stylus in engagement with the case. The case is provided with a member which engages a groove positioned on one end of the stylus to form the second detent mechanism.

Abstract: A telescopic, mouth-held manipulating and writing apparatus for paralytics consists of a replaceable mouthpiece, a fixed arm and an elongated extendable arm that interchangeably receives either a manipulating instrument or a writing instrument. An adjustment nut for extending or retracting the telescopic extension arm from the fixed arm is incorporated in the apparatus. A locking nut is incorporated on the extension arm of the apparatus for securing and releasing the manipulator or writing instrument. The adjustment nut, locking nut and extension arm are metallic, thereby promoting sterilization at high temperatures.

Abstract: A pen pack is disclosed which is mountable on the back of the writing hand of a user to provide ready access to a writing, marking or scribing implement when required. The pen pack includes a telescopic writing implement and an actuating mechanism disposed in a casing which may be readily affixed to the wearer's hand. The actuating mechanism includes a plunger which is depressed against an external object to actuate the pen pack, a feeder line subassembly which coacts with the plunger, and a rotational shaft which also coacts with the plunger and to which the telescopic writing instrument is affixed. Depression of the plunger causes the telescopic writing instrument to rotate into a writing position. Concomitantly, the feeder line subassembly causes the telescopic writing instrument to be extended to a fully telescoped position so that the user may grip the writing instrument and utilize it for writing, marking or scribing.

The retaining means includes an annular collar which houses a flexible center section having fingers adapted to capture the support end of the cartridge. The means for extending the cartridge comprises a telescoping helical coil member frictionally secured on its outer end to the interior of the housing and on its inner end to the cartridge.

A converging neck is located at a lower portion of the first holder and a chuck arrangement positioned at the juncture between the first and second holder members for gripping the pencil and maintaining its longitudinal positioning within the bore. The pencil tip protrudes through an aperture in the lower end of the first holder. Use of the pencil holder allows a writer to comfortably use pencils beyond a point at which the pencil would normally be discarded.
