  • Patent number: 5619886
Abstract: An operable angle adjusting structure for a wiper produces a maximally wide wiping angle is realized within the range where wiper arms will not interfere with window pillars and each other and will not require a precision machining apparatus. A drive link includes a ball joint disposed in one end portion, and the ball joint is integrally mounted to one surface of an adjusting member such that the center axis of the ball joint is eccentric with respect to the center of a screw hole by a specified distance. The adjusting member is turned to change the axis-to-axis distance between a wiper drive shaft and the ball joint for proper adjustment.

  • Patent number: 4684280
Abstract: Clevis connection includes a clevis bushing having a bushing sleeve, with a shoulder at one end having a tapered inner diameter, and a longitudinally extending slot through the shoulder and a portion of the length of the bushing sleeve. The bushing is inserted through aligned holes in the clevis arms and connecting lug. Then a tapered expander collet is inserted into the tapered inner diameter of the bushing shoulder and a bolt is inserted through the collet and bushing so that the bolt head loads through the collect which expands the bushing to cause pre-stress on the surrounding lug and a pre-load clamping of the connecting lug to one of the clevis arms, and cause pre-stress on the other clevis arm.

  • Patent number: 4661036
Abstract: A hydraulic latch arrangement is disclosed for facilitating efficient movement of a backhoe between working and transport positions relative to an associated material handling implement upon which the backhoe is mounted. The arrangement includes an upper pivot which pivotally connects the frame of the backhoe to the implement for relative movement of the backhoe about a horizontal axis. The arrangement further includes a pivotally movable latch member preferably mounted on the associated implement, and a latch pin mounted on the backhoe frame for cooperation with the pivotal latch member. A hydraulic latch motor is provided for selectively moving the pivotal latch member between engaged and disengaged positions, wherein in the engaged position the latch member cooperates with the latch pin for effecting a substantially rigid connection between the backhoe and the associated implement.

  • Patent number: 4640642
Abstract: The connector comprises a first element having one end provided with a single first eye, a second element having one end provided with two coaxial second eyes axially spaced to receive between them the single eye, and a pivot pin insertable through all the three eyes, when the latter are coaxially aligned, to thereby join the two elements together. The pivot pin consists of two parts insertable through the eyes. Each part has a first end provided with a first engagement means and an opposite second end provided with a resilient second engagement means, and each second eye has at its axially outer side a third engagement means, whereby on full insertion of the parts through the eyes the parts and the second eyes are interlocked by the engagement means.

  • Patent number: 4620574
Abstract: A manually-operated terminal wire connecting tool having an eccentric cam pivot for adjusting the degree of contact between gear rack assembly and rotating drive assembly. The eccentric cam allows for selective adjustment of contact between gear rack and rotatable drive assembly. Machining tolerances in manufacture of the tools are thereby increased and, in addition, consumers can compensate for gear wear over the life of the tool.

  • Patent number: 4583906
Abstract: A hydraulically-operated latch mechanism is disclosed for releasably maintaining a backhoe in its lowered, working position on an associated material handling implement. In the preferred embodiment, the mechanism includes a movable latch member pivotally mounted on the implement for movement between engaged and disengaged positions. A latch pin is provided on the frame of the backhoe for cooperation with the latch member whereby the latch pin is adapted to be received by the latch member in the engaged position thereof for holding the backhoe against movement relative to the implement. A latch hydraulic motor is provided in operative connection to the pivotal latch member for effecting movement between the engaged and disengaged positions.

  • Patent number: 4583620
Abstract: A hydraulically operated vehicle hoist having four extendable swivel arms each pivotally mounted for horizontal displacement on the head of a cylindrical plunger. Pivotting of each arm is provided by means of a vertical spacer tube disposed through the inboard end of the arm in a cavity spacing between a wear plate on the plunger head and a cover plate to which the spacer tube is threadedly connected. Individual adjustment of each cavity height to accommodate dimensional variations in thickness of the respective swivel arm supported thereby is afforded by rotationally locking the spacer tube to its associated arm via a bent rod or Allen wrench positioned through aligned apertures in each. Concomitant arcuate displacement of the locked spacer tube and arm causes threaded vertical displacement of the cover plate whereby the cavity height can be adjustably set to clearance specifications.

  • Patent number: 4523412
Abstract: A hanger bracket for fastening a framing member to a strut of geodesic building structure, the struts of which define the planar faces of at least part of a regular geometric shape. The hanger bracket has a back and a top support member extending from the top end of the back and inclining toward the bottom end of the back at an angle to the back of substantially one-half the angle of intersection of the planar faces. A bottom support member is opposed to the top support member and extends parallel thereto from the bottom end of the back. The back may be fastened to a side surface of the strut with the top end extending away from the center of the geometric shape and the support members extending into the planar face of the geometric shape defined in part by the strut.
