  • Patent number: 11466934
Abstract: A hinged protective collar for a kiln with rigid first and second body portions, each with a shape and size corresponding to the shape and size of a portion of a peripheral edge surface of the kiln sidewall and a hinge structure that pivotally couples the first and second body portions so they can be pivoted from a collapsed configuration to an expanded, use configuration. For a kiln with a faceted shape, each of the first and second body portions has a given number of corresponding facets. The hinged protective collar can span a portion of the periphery of the kiln, or the hinged protective collar could span 360 degrees and could have first and second hinge structures coupling the first and second body portions. The first and second body portions can have upturned proximal and, additionally or alternatively, distal end portions to prevent damage to kiln brick.

Abstract: A robot end effector for automated processing facilitates wet wafer processing by improving the maintenance of the end effector. In particular, the end effector may be exposed to a variety of chemical conditions in the course of its operation. By making the end effector finger removable from the arm, maintenance of the end effector finger is facilitated. By providing alignment means between the end effector finger and the arm, one can insure that the finger is accurately positioned on the arm after such maintenance.

Abstract: A device for forming a framework of a wooden building including a steel pipe, screw bar, joint, bolt and joint stick. The steel pipe is tightly inserted in a hole formed at the top edge and/or the bottom edge of a vertical post. The screw bar connects two vertical posts in series as an upper half thereof is screwed into a screw hole of a steel pipe inserted into the bottom edge of a vertical post, while a lower half thereof is screwed into a screw hole of a steel pipe inserted into the top edge of a vertical post positioned below the former vertical post. The joint comprises a base portion and a flange portion oriented at a right angle with respect to the from base portion. The bolt passes through a hole of the base portion of the joint and a hole of the vertical post and is screwed into a screw hole of the steel pipe to secure the joint to the vertical post.

Abstract: A kit assembly for constructing an article of furniture and including a first plurality of vertically extending and elongate supports which are arranged in spaced apart fashion and a second plurality of horizontally extending and elongate cross members. Opposite ends of the elongate cross members are received within appropriately formed apertures in the vertically extending supports and additional apertures extend in cross wise and communicating fashion through the vertical supports as well as the inserted and aligning ends of the cross members. Bolt fasteners are inserted through the additional and cross wise extending apertures in both the selected vertical supports and cross members and an intermediate portion of each fastener includes an annular and outwardly angled step which, upon insertion of the bolt fastener, corresponds both in axial placement and annular dimension to an inward and angularly extending ledge of a spool shaped aperture in the cross member.

  • Patent number: 5938368
Abstract: By providing a locking member having collapsible and bendable arm members which cooperate with a head-bearing fastening member, a unique fastening system is achieved which enables hardware products, such as handles, knobs, locks, brackets, and the like to be easily and quickly mounted to any desired furniture product. In the preferred embodiment, the head-bearing fastener and the locking member are constructed to be axially inserted through the mounting holes formed in the furniture product. Then, by mounting the fastening system to the hardware product and inserting the mounted fastening system through the mounting holes, the hardware product is quickly and easily securely affixed in position as the collapsible and foldable arm members of the locking member are forced outwardly into an overall width greater than the mounting holes during the threaded advance of the fastener with the hardware product.

  • Patent number: 5921698
Abstract: The invention concerns a mount for panel-shaped components, in particular glass panels, with a base element that penetrates through an opening in the panel-shaped component and immobilize it, and a ball stud that has at its first end a ball element which is rotatably mounted in an opening of the base element which is complementary in form and function, and that can be fastened at its second, opposite end to a support structure, immobilizing the base element. The base element has an axial length such that at least one end of the base element projects out of the panel plane, the opening to receive the ball element being furthermore arranged in the region of that end. The base element has at least two base subelements that can be fastened to one another at their mutually facing radial surfaces in the radial plane of the base element that extends substantially through the center point of the ball element, thus enclosing the ball element.

The closing wheel arm on an agricultural planter has installed thereon an improved grease bushing assembly which has increased wear surface and the capability to utilize a grease on the surface. The combination of increased wear surface and greasing will greatly increase the operational life of the planter. Also included in the invention is the process and fixturing to incorporate the improved configuration on to an existing planter closing wheel structure. Included in this attachment mechanism is a welding jig which assures proper alignment of the improved bushing assembly.

  • Patent number: 5813467
Abstract: An end of a composite cylinder is formed about an end connection assembly having two longitudinally arranged pieces having a contour which prevents the withdrawal of the end connection assembly from the cylinder. The two pieces of the end connection assembly are relatively forced apart and a snap ring having a certain rest diameter is reduced in diameter and inserted into the end connection assembly to a position between the pieces. The snap ring then assumes its rest diameter positioned between the pieces, forcing them to maintain intimate contact with the inner surface of the cylinder, thus removing any residual gap from the assembly process and/or preloading the interface between the end of the composite cylinder and the end assembly prior to application of an axial load.
