Abstract: An adjustable glass display case, which permits ready assembly and disassembly, is provided which includes a frame having four glass plates, a generally horizontally-disposed top plate, a generally horizontally-disposed base plate and two upstanding, spaced-apart side plates disposed generally between the top and bottom plates. Each of the glass plates has two longitudinally-extending, spaced-apart rows of holes formed therethrough and is detachably secured to the other plates of the frame adjacent thereto. The case also includes a back glass plate disposed adjacent to, and detachably secured to the frame. In addition, at least one vertical glass divider is positioned between and disposed generally parallel to said side plates and is detachably secured to the top plate and bottom plate by a clamping assembly which is at least partially retained within at least one of the holes of the top and bottom plates.
Abstract: A fastening device is disclosed for joining two members, for example tubular members, together, one of the members having a recess in an end which is to abut the other member. The device includes wedge elements which are moved relative to one another to engage opposed internal walls of the recess in the one member so that by attaching one of the wedge elements to the other member the members are secured to one another. Deformable links interconnect the wedge elements to initially retain the elements in their operative positions but to subsequently deform when relative movement is produced between the elements.
Abstract: A quarter fender and associated support of the type used with a tractor of a tractor-trailer mounted from the frame of the tractor adjacent rear wheels of the tractor. The support for the fender comprises a tube or pipe accommodating at one end a hefty washer welded into the tube and for receiving a bolt for securing the tube against the frame of the vehicle, a nut being provided in association with the bolt for tightening the support to the vehicle frame.
Abstract: A fastener having a generally cylindrical body with a laterally enlarged head spaced frame said body by a web which is transverse to a threaded bore in the cylindrical body and with the body having rib-like extensions disposed perpendicular to the web.
Abstract: An article carrier adapted for attachment to a portion of a motor vehicle having a pair of spaced supporting rails with adjustable article restraining bars extending therebetween. Slider members are provided having a clamp member operatively associated therewith for movably securing the restraining bar to the supporting rails and include a device for retaining the clamp in an operatively associated position relative thereto. Additionally, stanchions are provided for securing the supporting rails in a spaced relationship to the motor vehicle which are also adapted to allow the slider members to be moved into registration therewith so as to maximize the area enclosed by the article restraining bars and support rails.
Abstract: A T-shaped structural joint includes a tubular member connected endwise to a plate member by a screw and a connector press-fitted in a hollow open end of the tubular member, the connector having on its periphery a knurled surface which is held in tight frictional engagement with the interior surface of the open end. The connector has a radially extending slot that allows the connector to contract when forcibly inserted into the tubular member, the connector having a tendency to expand or spring back under its own resiliency upon insertion such that the connector forcibly acts against the interior surface of the tubular member. The connector includes a notched and tapered sleeve that facilitates initial insertion of the connector.
Abstract: Several rattan furniture joints are disclosed, one comprising a T-shaped connection for two rattan poles, a second joint having the poles parallel and alongside one another, and the third joint having the poles connected end-to-end. In each of these three types of joint two internally threaded plastic inserts are pinned in aligned openings in the poles, and a threaded male stud or shank member is provided to connect the two poles. The method provides for rotating one plastic insert with respect to the other to facilitate the assembly of the parts, and this assembly step can be achieved by providing a slotted head on at least the rotatable insert, or merely by virtue of the fact that one pole can be rotated with respect to the other during assembly.
Abstract: A hub extends into the top of a pole and has a central web. A carriage bolt extends through this web with its nut exposed on the top of the web and its head below the web within the pole. The central support of the toggle rests on and engages the bolt head. This support has a base and two sides. The two sides of two arms are in juxtaposition to the support sides and are pivotally secured thereto by pins. The arms extend at an angle toward the hub and are in contact therewith to be cammed outwardly by the hub as the support is drawn toward the hub by the bolt thereby causing the distal ends of the arms to engage the pole. A spring on the support base resiliently forces the arms into contact with the hub and, prior to the bolt being drawn up, holds the arms sufficiently close together to freely slip within the end of the pole.
Abstract: A joint for fabricating rattan furniture particularly joining two rattan poles to form a T-shaped connection which includes forming a saddle at the end of one pole, forming an axial hole in said one pole, locating an internally screw-threaded sleeve in the hole, fixing the sleeve in the hole by passing a pin through the pole and the sleeve, passing a bolt through a diametrically disposed hole in the other pole and screwing the bolt into the sleeve to seat the other pole on the saddle.
Abstract: A disjoinable assembly designed for connecting of piston with piston rod in ngines and machines, this assembly being particularly suitable for use in compressors, includes an insert [4] and a bolt connector [3] mounted in the said insert, said connector co-operating with piston rod [2]. The insert [4] is U-shaped in cross-section, it has preferably the form of a cylinder with bottom [8] at one end, said bottom having a hole [9], and it is provided with bearing surfaces [12] in the form of splineways [10] or splines [14] , said bearing surfaces [12] being matched with bearing surfaces [13] made in the form of splines [11] or splineways [15] on the piston rod [2] . The insert [4] is fixed in position relative to piston [1] and piston rod [2] by means of dogs [20] , said dogs being formed by bending the sections of rim [16] toward one or more sockets [6] made in piston [1] , and by bending the other sections of the said rim [16] toward one or more sockets [17] made in connector [3].

Abstract: This display system includes tubular frame components which are easy to assemble, disassemble and rearrange to form various types of display units. The frame components are provided with interlocking connector means which includes a multi-sided stud extending outwardly from one end of one frame component and the other frame component has first and second multi-sided openings provided in opposite walls thereof and aligned perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the frame component to receive the multi-sided stud therein. Means is provided for removably locking the multi-sided stud of one frame component in the first and second multi-sided openings in the other frame component to rigidly maintain the adjacent end of the one frame component against one wall of the other frame component and in right-angular and non-rotating relationship thereto.
