Abstract: The power system for an aircraft includes a gear box. Multiple generators are driven by the gear box and are arranged in a circumferentially spaced manner, in one example. Each generator includes a power interconnect block providing a receptacle that receives an electrical lead. The receptacle provides a metallic insert having a hole that receives a connector arranged at an end of the electrical lead. The connectors are inserted into the hole in a direction that is generally parallel with an axis of rotation of a shaft of the generator. An axial retainer is secured between the electrical connector and the power interconnect block to axially locate the connector within the power interconnect block. A spring washer is arranged at a base of the hole to exert an axial force on the connector biasing it against the axial retainer.

The hold-down and release apparatus also includes springs for biasing the movable clamping segments means in a disengaging direction that causes the clamping segments to disengage from the attachment arrangement on the structural object to release the structural object from the flight termination system.

Abstract: A flange junction lock has two identical approximately L-shaped parts, each with a circular nut or bolt cover mounted to a support neck forming one end portion of a shaft having a series of holes along the shaft leading to a free end, the holes being of such size as to accommodate a lock such as a padlock, and a shaft receiver attached to the support neck forming a slot to receive the shaft of the other L-shaped part. The circular covers fit over a nut and bolt head or nut on the opposite sides of the joined flanges while a lock, such as a padlock, secures the shafts together. Each cylindrical cover has a partial end cap which allows the threaded portion of a bolt to extend through and beyond the cylindrical cover while blocking insertion of a socket wrench.

The male component includes a male member that extends through a hole in the female component. The spring clip is then rotated to engage the male component with a structure that includes two spaced apart legs that define an open mouth. The legs of the clip are trapped between a flange formed at the outer distal end of the male member that extends through and beyond the female component. The legs of the clip are then frictionally trapped between the flange of the male member and an outer surface of the female component.

Abstract: A device for assembling a steering column bracket with a steering gear shaft, comprising a clamping bolt cooperating with a clamping nut disposed in one of two branches of the bracket, the clamping nut being held in place against rotation and translation by an antirotation elastic member and having a radial protrusion. An axial prepositioning abutment is fastened to the bracket. When the radial protrusion of the clamping nut is pressed against the axial prepositioning abutment, the clamping nut is partly withdrawn along its axis to allow the bracket to be engaged over the end of the shaft. At the end of tightening the clamping bolt in the clamping nut, the clamping bolt neutralizes the antirotation function of the antirotation elastic member in order to allow the clamping nut to escape from the axial prepositioning abutment and immobilize the bracket on the shaft.

Abstract: An anti-theft device secures a removable body part, such as a viewing unit, to a microscope stand. The device is intended to replace a common thumbscrew used to fix the location of a removable body part in a corresponding guide of the microscope stand, and comprises a housing threaded into a tapped hole in the stand for carrying a plunger and a driver both movable within an axial passageway in the housing. The driver is threadably adjustable by hand between driving and non-driving positions with respect to the plunger, and the plunger has a limited range of motion so that it may retract enough to allow the removable body part to be adjusted within the guide but not enough to allow the body part to be removed from the guide when the driver is in a non-driving position. The housing is tightened onto the microscope body by a tool such as a wrench, and the driver is held captive by a snap ring fitting within an internal groove near a trailing end of the housing.
