The locking element may be a bolt 16 with a conical locking face 15 to engage the angular groove 12.

The screw nut and the short tube become biased on two opposite sides and firmly retained in the tubular bicycle handlebar as the adjusting screw is turned clockwise to move the screw nut toward the short tube.

    Abstract: A frost clip is provided for a rotary sprinkler of the type which includes a sprinkler body, a nozzle for emitting a stream and a rotatable distributor plate adapted to receive and redirect the stream. The frost clip is attachable to the sprinkler body so as to be intermittently engaged by the stream as the distributor plate rotates about its axis of rotation. The frost clip is formed with a channel facing radially towards and extending substantially parallel to an axis of rotation of the rotor plate. The channel is constructed and arranged to intermittently deflect the stream back toward the rotor plate and at least a portion of the sprinkler body as the stream rotates past the clip, to thereby inhibit ice buildup on the rotor plate and adjacent sprinkler body portions.

    Abstract: An end attachment assembly for a twisted rope torsion bar includes an anchor nut and a plurality of strap wrenches. A plurality of tie rods and a washer secure the assembly and transmit the torque. The torison bar is preferably fabricated of a lightweight glass fiber/epoxy composite material formed in a rope. In operation, the application of torque to the anchor nut results in a rotating/pivoting action by the strap wrenches. The strap associated with each strap wrench loops around the torsion bar and overlaps itself in the area of engagement with a cross bar that forms a cam. As the cross bar rotates/pivots and presses against the engaging portion of the strap, the strap firmly grips the torsion rod. The strap resists by frictional engagement any sliding motion over the torsion bar and against itself in the overlapping region. This compressive action adjusts for the diametral change of the torsion bar upon the application of torque and results in a tighter and tighter grip to the torsion bar.

The configuration of the inner faces of the clamp members permits the ferrules to lie in a plane which passes through the bus cable, thus avoiding wasted space in a manhole or building vault.

    Abstract: A support for a bicycle type seat provides a pair of brackets depending from the seat structure and clamped to opposite sides of a rigid block having a post receiving hole therethrough for freely receiving a seat supporting post. A sidewall of the post receiving hole is recessed to provide a pair of impact ridges extending parallel to the axis of the hole. Post clamping bolts are provided to screw through the block against a seat supporting post in the hole to force the post against the ridges and embed the same into the post, whereby a post within a wide range of diameters can be positively secured against rotation within the hole. A tubular reinforcement having an axially extending expansion slit may be forced axially into a tubular seat supporting post to prevent a collapse of the latter when forced against the impact ridges.

Press fitting of the commutator onto the support shaft is achieved by elastic bending deformation of the press fitting portions on the inner wall of the commutator in the outward direction. Typically, the inner wall of the commutator comprises three larger diameter portions and three press fitting portions. No preliminary machining is required on the inner wall of the commutator before press fitting is effected. The amount of press fitting allowance can be increased remarkably compared with any conventional commutator.
