  • Patent number: 5364281
Abstract: A basic connector body (13) which electrically connects and mechanically secures a ground wire (1) to a grounding member (14), e.g. pipe or electrical conduit, which body is made of a one piece brass alloy casting. The generally cylindrical, basic connector body has a smaller diameter, wire section and a larger diameter, pipe section, the size of the latter allowing the body to be slipped over the pipe end. In contrast, the smaller, wire section prevents the pipe from passing through the connector body due to the presence of a ridge (7). When the connector body is slipped over the end of the grounding pipe until the end of the pipe bears against the ridge, a first set screw (8) is screwed down until it drives itself down against the outer, exterior surface of the pipe, electrically connecting and mechanically securing the connector body to the pipe.

Abstract: The invention relates to a side strut (6) for the lower steering arm of a three-point hitch of a tractor. Locking catches (24, 25) are provided to cancel the floating position which the two telescopic members (14, 15) of the side strut 6 may assume relative to each other. The catches (24, 25) lock the members via locking contours (29, 30) of a locking recess 28, which surround and secure to a locking journal (31). The two locking catches (24, 25) are arranged at the sides of the telescopic members (14, 15). The locking catches have their pivot axis of the articulated journal (27) the points of contact between the locking contours (29, 30) and the locking journals (31), in a locked position, positioned on a connecting line. The line extends parallel to the sliding axis (16) and through the pivot axis of the ball eye (13). In this way, it is ensured that the locking catches (24, 25) and also the side strut (6), together, are not subject to any bending moments resulting from any tensile or compressive forces.

  • Patent number: 4711334
Abstract: A telescoping extension chute has a first semicircular section with an inlet end for pivotal connection to a main chute on a mixer truck and a pair of tubular tracks attached along upper longitudinal edges. An intermediate section with a semicircular cross-section of larger radius telescopes over the first section and has a pair of tubular tracks attached along upper longitudinal edges which extend through slots formed in the bottom walls of the first section tracks. A third section with a semicircular cross-section of still larger radius telescopes over the intermediate section and has a pair of bars attached along upper longitudinal edges which extend through slots formed in the bottom walls of the intermediate section tracks. Rollers attached to the tracks cooperate to provide relative telescoping movement and a locking mechanism prevents relative movement in any extended position.

  • Patent number: 4708511
Abstract: A movement blocking apparatus having an inner locking ring rotatably mounted within a housing is disclosed. The housing contains slits which, in a locked position, align with inclined plane portions of the locking ring. Notches reside axially adjacent to the inclined plane portions of the locking ring. A blocking pin, which blocks movement of a shaft, is inserted in the housing slits, causing the locking ring to rotate away from the locked position due to operation of the blocking pin against the inclined planes. When the blocking pin has been inserted into the slits far enough to engage the locking ring notches, a spring causes the locking ring to return to the locked position and entrap the blocking pin.

  • Patent number: 4647241
Abstract: A modular assembly is provided for use in frame structures which are assembled by joining frame members to connector or fitting members to allow such structures to be easily and quickly assembled and disassembled without the need for a separate assembly tool. In the assembly the frame member telescopically engages the fitting member and both members are constrained from relative rotational and translational movement by a resilient retainer. The retainer has a general spring-like band configuration which includes a backbone portion having two open extending ends. The retainer is flexed over one of the joined members and its backbone engages at least one half of the perimeter of that member. The installed and tensioned length between the two retainer ends is greater than the length between the same ends in a free state, thereby clamping the structural members together. An alignment pin extends radially inwardly from the retainer backbone and engages both members to lock the retainer in place.
