  • Patent number: 5429340
Abstract: The present invention relates to a modular security fence and, more particularly, to a plurality of interconnectable fence panels, each fabricated of weather proof recyclable materials. The fence panels can be produced in a variety of colors and sizes ranging from decorative landscaping fences to privacy fences. No staining or painting is required. These fence panels are formed to interconnect with one another and are secured together, preferably, through the use of threaded fasteners. Each successive panel conceals the unsightly fasteners which secure the preceding interconnected panel. The fence panels require virtually no maintenance. A number of panels can be interconnected prior to distribution, thus providing preassembled sections of fence. Optional panels may be formed to include utility boxes to accommodate electrical devices such as light fixtures, receptacles, and security devices. A fence of this type is durable, demanding little repair, and is not likely to fall prey to vandalism.

  • Patent number: 5297820
Abstract: In a line connector system an incorrect interconnection of different lines shall be excluded. This is achieved by connecting a female connector (1-3, 1-6) to one line and a male plug (2-3, 2-6) to the other line, the female connector and male plug having a defined total length when connected; the total length may for example exactly correspond to the distance between two holding members (4, 5) of a holder (3) which receives the connected coupling members with the lines connected thereto. The individual female connectors and male plugs, respectively, have a respective different length such that the total length of incorrect coupling members in a connected state deviate from the predetermined length, whereby for example an insertion of the connected coupling members into the holder is impossible.

Abstract: An adjustable, resettable fixed mount for a hologon laser scanner disc or spinner provides perpendicular angular orientation of the hologon disc relative to the motor rotation axis within about 5 to 10 arc seconds and corresponding wobble angles as compared to 20 to 40 arc seconds for hologon discs mounts in dynamic mounts or rigidly with fixed, hard mounts which have heretofore been proposed and used. The improved mount is a fixed hard mount which is nevertheless adjustable. It may be implemented by a connecting assembly having a hub with a spherical bearing which allows perpendicular angular orientation of the hologon about a plane perpendicular to the motor drive shaft on which the spherical bearing is mounted. A retainer cap has a plurality of angularly spaced adjusting screw members which change the perpendicular angular orientation of the disc relative to the motor rotation axis. Abstract: An upper end portion of a steering knuckle is fastened to a pair of parallel flanges of a bracket secured to a lower end portion of the strut by a relative angle adjusting mechanism. The upper portion of the steering knuckle is adapted to swing about the pivoting bolt by turning the relative angle adjusting means to adjust a relative angle of the steering knuckle for setting a camber angle. One of the flanges is provided with a first guide opening extending crosswisely with respect to the axis of the strut whereas the other flange includes a second guide opening extending in parallel with the axis of the strut. The relative angle adjusting mechanism is provided with an adjust bolt having a larger diameter portion and a smaller diameter portion. The larger diameter portion is eccentric to the smaller diameter portion for easily adjusting the camber angle.

  • Patent number: 4981312
Abstract: An electromagnetic shear lock comprising an electromagnet having an E-shaped cross section with a coil positioned about the middle leg of the E is mounted to a doorway and an armature is mounted to the door, where in one form the middle leg of the E is shortened to define a recess to receive an elongated armature member and provide mechanical reinforcement against shearing when the electromagnet is energized. The armature is constructed of at least two telescoping members where the outer armature member is U-shaped with legs which contact the outer legs of the electromagnet and the inner member is attracted into the defined recess and will engage the inner surfaces of the outer legs of the electromagnet. Even if the outer member is pryed down from the electromagnet, at least the inner armature members will still be in a magnetic circuit with the inner electromagnet armature member in the defined recess and providing mechanical reinforcement in engaging the inner surfaces of the outer legs.

Abstract: A mixing valve (10) has a modular cartridge (60) rotatably mounted in housin (12). The cartridge has a bottom volume control valve plate (58) attached to a lower section (62) housing a pressure balance valve (80). The lower section (62) is secured to an upper section (120) that rotatably receives a temperature control plate (150). The plates (58) and (150) are both rotatable about a common axis (64). The plate (58) is controlled by operation of stem (180) attached to handle (34). The plate (150) is controlled by stem (160) which is operated by knob (38). An insert (250) allows the knob (38) to operate even when hot and cold water supplies are inverted. A splined hot water stop ring (228) sits in handle (34) and adaptably limits rotation of knob (38) for a selected maximum water temperature. Outer seals (58) assure that all water flows through cartridge (60) when the volume is set for partial flow.
