In the event that the application of the machine deceleration system occurs at a machine speed exceeding a predetermined threshold value, the hydraulic motor of the drive train is configured to drive the hydraulic pump of the hydraulic system. The hydraulic pump is linked to the system generator to generate electrical power to drive the one or more screed electrical heating elements at a current greater than the current previously being provided to the one or more screed electrical heating elements.

    Abstract: The embodiments of the Screed Bracket are comprised of a screed clamp and a handle bracket. The screed clamp is essentially a rectangular, three dimensional structure that fits over a screed. The screed bracket forms one or more screed apertures and the handle bracket forms a handle aperture. The one or more screed apertures are located so that a fastener can be installed through the screed apertures, thereby securing the screed clamp. The handle bracket is integrally formed with and to the screed clamp in such a manner as the handle bracket protrudes from the screed clamp at a specific angle. The handle aperture is used to secure the handle bracket to a handle. The handle is inserted into the handle bracket and the handle is secured via a fastener that is installed through the handle aperture thereby securing the handle bracket to the handle.

The base plate is connected to linear actuators through a gear box corresponding to opposing sides of the base plate to position the corresponding side of the base plate at a selected height to orient the base plate in a sloped configuration to form the wedge notch joint along a side of a course of blacktop. The base plate supports a vibration unit providing compaction to the wedge notch joint as the course of blacktop is being deposited, thus providing a dense joint between adjacent swaths of a course of blacktop.
