Patent number: 7303356Abstract: The invention relates to a soil compacting device, especially a vibrating plate, which comprises an undercarriage mounted on a lower body, said undercarriage having an undercarriage axle that is stationary with respect to the device. By suitably positioning the undercarriage axle it is achieved that, in a vibrating position, the rolling bodies do not touch ground while they do touch ground when the entire device is simply tilted about an axis that corresponds approximately to the undercarriage axle, thereby allowing the mobility of the device. The soil compacting device is advantageous over conventional devices in that an extension or swiveling of the undercarriage axle for the purpose of transport and the corresponding devices are no longer required.Type: GrantFiled: June 6, 2003Date of Patent: December 4, 2007Assignee: Wacker Construction Equipment AGInventors: Hermann Schennach, Marcus Kuchler

Patent number: 6877931Abstract: A tamping tine has a flat inclined tine surface that encloses an acute angle with a front surface of a tine plate at the lower end of a shank. The inclined tine surface is delimited, with regard to a longitudinal direction of the tamping tine, by a bottom edge of the tine plate and by a shank section line defined by an intersection of the inclined tine surface with the entire rear portion of the shank. A reference line on the inclined tine surface is distanced farther from an upper end point—positioned at the maximum distance from the bottom edge of the tine plate—of the inclined tine surface than from a shank end line. This ensures an easier penetration by the tamping tine into the ballast and it provides for an improved attachment of hardened metal plates for providing abrasion resistance.Type: GrantFiled: January 17, 2003Date of Patent: April 12, 2005Assignee: Franz Plasser Bahnbaumaschinen-Industrie-GesellschaftInventors: Josef Theurer, Friedrich Peitl

Patent number: 6200065Abstract: The screed includes an elongated blade vibrated by a centrally located, eccentric weight. The blade is supported by an elongated shaft extending to a power source that drives the weight. An associated operator handle facilitates convenient manipulation of the screed. A unique vibration dispersion system enables the centrally located weight to effectively vibrate the entire blade length. The dispersion system includes an elongated, rigid integral brace extending the entire blade length. The brace secures to the eccentric weight via a vibratory housing. Vibrations from the housing force the blade to vibrate violently to consolidate the plastic concrete. As the screed is drawn across wet plastic concrete, it simultaneously consolidates the concrete by vibrating it thoroughly throughout the monolith while also striking off and levelling the top layer of the concrete.Type: GrantFiled: July 23, 1999Date of Patent: March 13, 2001Inventor: R.
