  • Patent number: 5236290
Abstract: A circle cutter includes a beam with a central arbor and a pair of tool holders concurrently oppositely adjustable along the beam and having a pair of vertically spaced longitudinal bores carrying screws for engaging cutting members. An extension member engages the tool holder outer face and is detachably attached by screws engaging bores in the extension member and those in the tool holder and used for securing a tool to the extension outer face. A threaded third bore is formed in the extension below the first pair permitting the vertical adjustment of the attached tool.

  • Patent number: 4434826
Abstract: A shank is provided for stationary support from a rotary drive structure with the shank coaxial with the axis of rotation of the drive structure. The shank includes a head on one end having an outwardly opening bit receiving bore formed therein coaxial with the shank. An open ended slot is formed through the head transverse to the bore and opens laterally outwardly in the direction in which the bore opens. A twist drill bit is provided and has a longitudinally extending flat on its shank end and the shank end of the drill bit is snugly received within the bore with the flat thereon substantially coplanar with one side of the slot laterally outwardly of which the shank end is disposed. An elongated cutting plate is snugly slidably received in the slot and against the flat with one end portion of the plate projecting outwardly of the corresponding end of the slot.

  • Patent number: 4309133
Abstract: A tool having a shank, cartridges on the shank positioned by a screw having two externally threaded parts which engage two internally threaded sleeves which in turn engage threaded openings in the cartridges. One of the threaded openings being right-hand thread and the other opening being left-hand thread. Thus, the cartridges can be moved laterally together or individually by rotating the screw or any of the sleeves.

  • Patent number: 4278372
Abstract: An adjustable multiple blade boring bar with diametrically disposed overlapping blade blocks, each adjustable in and out and a control cartridge having actuator pins movable in opposite directions in response to rotation of a differential screw, the pins being oriented in relation to slots on the blade block to move in a camming relationship to shift the blocks in and out. A differential screw associates the control cartridge and the boring bar to permit radial equalization of the blade block when installed initially or after sharpening.

  • Patent number: 4014623
Abstract: An extension for a boring rod with two counter-rotating boring tool carriers. The boring tools of the carriers are arranged at opposite ends of the boring tool carrier and displaced through 180.degree. relative to each other. The boring tool carriers have a cylindrical shaft and are each guided within a chuck socket, which sockets have a cone on their external ends and both sockets are arranged within a through longitudinal bore in a housing capable of being mounted within the boring rod. Threaded rings are screwed into each end of the longitudinal bore and act in conjunction with the chuck socket through their internal conical part to effect an axial seating between the inner end of the chuck socket and an adjusting bushing, movable within the longitudinal bore, which engages by means of two threads running counter to each other with the corresponding threads of the boring tool carrier. A centering device is provided between the housing and the boring rod.

  • Patent number: 4006995
Abstract: A drill for use in boring machines has a tool holder with two cutter bars having cutters projecting radially therefrom. The cutter bars are movably mounted in a radial direction in a recess passing through the tool holder. The tool holder includes a base part and walls projecting therefrom forming the recess therebetween. The cutter bars are arranged in this recess in end-to-end relation and are of a width substantially equal to the width of the recess. The base is provided with two slots therein communicating with the recess, the slots being offset with respect to each other and each extending from the outside of the base in a direction substantially parallel to the length of the recess up approximately to the central axis. Bolts engaged in the parts on opposite sides of the slots can be tightened to deform the walls of the recess so as to clamp the cutter bars therebetween.
