Patent number: 10007248Abstract: A numerical controller which controls a five-axis machining machine having two rotary axes generates speed data for deceleration stop along movement paths when a stop signal that requires interruption of machining and retraction is sensed, and based on the speed data, generates stop retraction path command data combining a path for the deceleration stop along the movement paths and a retraction path receding from the movement paths.Type: GrantFiled: November 2, 2015Date of Patent: June 26, 2018Assignee: FANUC CorporationInventor: Hiroki Murakami

Patent number: 6591148Abstract: A numerical control device for synchronously controlling the movement of a plurality of axes of a machine by repeatedly controlling a cyclic motion. An axis of the machine is designed to stop at a predetermined position upon the occurrence of an emergency stop. To achieve this stop position, an amount of retraction is set up to a position where a tool of machine does not interfere with a work piece or other obstacles. When an emergency stop signal is entered during a binary operation, because of an occurrence of an abnormality, a movement control amount for each period, corresponding to a set amount of retraction, is added to the movement control amount for each period of the binary operation and the axis is thereby driven by the resultant modified movement control amount. The binary operation is stopped upon the reaching of the stop position, and the tool can be held at this retracted position, by the set amount of retraction.Type: GrantFiled: June 1, 2000Date of Patent: July 8, 2003Assignee: Fanuc Ltd.Inventors: Teruo Masuda, Eiji Genma, Ken Yasuda

Patent number: 6430791Abstract: In order to manufacture parts with an outer profile, a workpiece (32) is pressed by a pressure piece (24) through a ring-shaped cutting tool (34). The cutting tool (34) has a plurality of disks with inner cutting edges (62) for removing material from the workpiece (32). The cutting edges are progressively longer in the advance direction, so that each cutting edge removes material chips and the last cutting edge in the advance direction corresponds to the desired outer profile of the part. In order to improve chip removal, the chip chambers (74) located between the cutting edges communicate with the outside through radial connection openings (128) which are distributed all around their circumference. To hold the workpiece (32) securely on the pressure piece (24), a pressure pad (76) extends through the cutting tool (34) and is supported on the side of the workpiece (32) opposite to the pressure piece (32), and a hydraulic piston (80) generates a compression force on the pressure pad (76).Type: GrantFiled: October 7, 1999Date of Patent: August 13, 2002Inventor: Roland Eckgold

Patent number: 5163794Abstract: An articulated axis workslide assembly having a bridge plate with an upper surface and first and second bridge keyways. The bridge keyways are oriented precisely parallel to one another and a first longitudinal axis, and first and second bridge keys are slidably mounted in respective bridge keyways for reciprocation parallel to the first axis. There is a combination swivel/slide member having a lower surface, a slide keyway and a pivot hole, and a slide key is slidably mounted in the slide keyway. The swivel/slide is slidably and pivotally connected and supported with its lower surface facing the upper surface of the bridge member along a single interface plane. Such connection is preferably provided in part through pivotal connection of the slide key to the first bridge key, and through the slide pivot hole to the second bridge key.Type: GrantFiled: April 22, 1991Date of Patent: November 17, 1992Assignee: Cincinnati Milacron Inc.Inventor: Ellsworth C. Patent number: 4531868Abstract: A high production surface broaching machine, in which a plurality of parts are located and clamped simultaneously in broaching position, broached, and simultaneously unclamped and discharged into an outchute. The plurality of parts are moved horizontally into position below the broaching position, and are then raised into accurately located broaching position against horizontal locating and ejection bar means. After broaching, the bar means pushes the broached parts down into laterally open recesses in an elongated bar, which is then moved longitudinally relative to a cam which guides the parts out of the recesses into an outchute.Type: GrantFiled: January 19, 1982Date of Patent: July 30, 1985Assignee: Lear Siegler, Inc.Inventor: Leonard A. Patent number: 4477216Abstract: A broaching machine has a broach carrying ram mounted for reciprocating movement in a vertical path through a downward cutting stroke and an upward return stroke. A work holding table has a support plate on its upper surface receiving a part holding fixture thereon to hold parts in position for cutting by said tool, and the lower surface of said table has a pivot mounting to the machine base. Horizontal shuttling movement of said plate toward and away from the ram path is provided by a cam block movable transversely in said table and having a cam slot extending at an angle to the path of movement of the cam block. A cam follower is attached to the underside of the table and extending into said cam slot, and pistons are arranged in the table to reciprocate the cam block. The cam slot extends at an acute angle to the path of the cam block.Type: GrantFiled: January 26, 1982Date of Patent: October 16, 1984Assignee: The Ohio Broach & Machine CompanyInventors: Charles P.
