Patent number: 4662804Abstract: An automatic chamfering machine for chamfering the edge of teeth of internal gears or edge of slots of ring-like clutches is disclosed. Once the machine is set on the work (i.e., an internal gear or a ring-like clutch), it can be intermittently moved along the work at an interval corresponding to one tooth or slot to effect chamfering. The automatic chamfering machine according to the invention has at least one drive roller, which is held attracted to the work through excitation of a solenoid so that the machine will not fall from the work. The chamfering machine is moved along the work to an extent corresponding to one tooth, for instance, with the rotation of the drive roller attracted to the work to be automatically stopped at the next chamfering position. Then, a cutter is moved along the tooth surface while being rotated to effect chamfering.Type: GrantFiled: April 17, 1986Date of Patent: May 5, 1987Assignee: Kabushikigaisha Iwasa TekkoshoInventors: Mamoru Tokita, Takeji Nakano

Patent number: 4610576Abstract: A single-tooth cutter for sloping the axial face of gears, in which the gear which is to be worked performs a continuous or step-by-step rotary movement whereby successive rotations of the single-tooth cutter will cause a working on successive teeth at least one sloped surface, and in which the workpiece and the single-tooth cutter after each workpiece rotation approach one another, until the desired sloped shape is reached, the chip removal occurring through the provision of at least two edges which in peripheral direction are arranged one directly behind the other. A cutter which can also be used for this has two edges which act one directly after the other, which edges can have a different distance from the axis of rotation of the cutter.Type: GrantFiled: July 19, 1984Date of Patent: September 9, 1986Assignee: Carl Hurth Maschinen und Zahnradfabrik GmbH & Co.Inventor: Manfred Erhardt

Patent number: 4412765Abstract: In an apparatus for mutually positioning a toothed chamfering/deburring tool and a gear to be worked, the gear rolls along an inclined rack until engagement with a stop disposed therealong in a predetermined position of the gear relative to the tool, which is formed with a first rotary detent member engageable with a second detent member for locating the tool in a predetermined angular position in which teeth of the tool and the gear can mesh when the tool and the gear are moved into engagement, the tool being rotated by a nozzle directing a stream of liquid against at least one tooth of the tool until the engagement of the first and second detent members.Type: GrantFiled: January 12, 1981Date of Patent: November 1, 1983Assignee: Samputensili S.p.A.Inventor: Carlo Occhialini

Patent number: 4334810Abstract: In an apparatus for the cutting, deburring or breaking of the side tooth edges of gears with one or two tools which are located on the side of a guide gear and which machine the aforesaid tooth edges. The guide gear meshes with the workpiece, and, in one embodiment, is constructed as a measuring gear. Prior to the actual machining operation, the distance between the axes of the pretoothed workpiece and the measuring gear is measured independently and is made visible, if desired, on an indicating device. In order to avoid incorrect measurement results due to burrs existing on the workpiece, the guide gear can, if desired, have recesses into which extend the burrs.Type: GrantFiled: February 5, 1980Date of Patent: June 15, 1982Assignee: Carl Hurth Maschinen- und Zahnradfabrik GmbH & Co.Inventors: Horst Behnke, Herbert Loos, Udo Luhmer, Manfred Heckmaier, Rudolf Kerschl
