The bolt, which is inserted through the aligned apertures in the axle assembly and the base plate, penetrates into the area beneath the base plate where it emerges and mates with the threaded nut. The device is supported by the bottom surface of the board and held stationary inside a pocket formed within the underside of the base plate and consists of integrally formed components including a generally flat base, a sloped guide platform situated upon the base, and an upstanding heel section formed at the base of the sloped guide platform. The guide platform is constructed according to a specific angle of inclination to fix the nut's orientation and to enable the nut and the threaded end of the bolt to properly align and engage.Type: GrantFiled: October 23, 2000Date of Patent: October 22, 2002Inventor: Marc Smith

Patent number: 6460296Abstract: The invention concerns a device comprising a rail guiding a window support slider and fixing said slider on said window. A pin is pre-mounted in an opening of a branch of the slider, opposite a corresponding passage hole in the window, and a screw pre-assembled to the second branch of the slider on the side opposite the pin and opposite the window hole. When the screw is screwed into the slider and through the window hole, then in an axial channel of the pin, it exerts thereon a traction which causes it to slide inside the slider hole and the window hole until is urged to stop against the slider branch. This assembly is extremely simple and ensures more dependable mounting than known devices. The user operating it senses when the assembling is completed by the increased in the screw torque. Moreover, if the pin if forgotten, the screw slips thereby warning the operable about the absence of the pin.Type: GrantFiled: January 8, 2001Date of Patent: October 8, 2002Assignee: Meritor Light Vehicle Systems - FranceInventor: Laurent Arquevaux

Publication number: 20020110437Abstract: A screw retention device is disclosed for maintaining at least a pair of screws in a substantially static position. The screw retention device preferably includes at least two clamping portions, each clamping portion defining a recess therein for receiving and securely retaining a screw. The clamping portions include a serrated surface extending circumferentially around an inside periphery of the clamping portion, surrounding the recess. The serrated surface of the clamping portion corresponds to and engages with a serrated surface on the screw to retain the screw. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the screw retention device is press fitted onto the screws.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 13, 2001Publication date: August 15, 2002Inventor: Kanji Kirimoto

Patent number: 6425719Abstract: A screw-locking device which is suitable, in particular, for pruning shears includes a catch disk having a toothed rim with axially directed teeth and a spring collar whose teeth are formed by individual webs which extend freely between an inner ring and an outer ring of the collar. These webs have a catch of V-shaped cross section for the engagement of the teeth of the catch disk, one tooth of the catch disk lying in the clearance space of the spring collar, and the adjacent teeth engaging in the V-shaped recesses of the radial webs. According to a further refinement, the tooth webs may be provided with lateral inclined contact surfaces. The spring collar has projecting lugs on the side opposite the tooth system.Type: GrantFiled: March 28, 2001Date of Patent: July 30, 2002Assignee: WOLF-Garten GmbH & Co. KGInventor: Gerhard Staudt

Patent number: 6296316Abstract: A headrest guide for receiving a headrest rod including a collet having an adjustable inner diameter positioned within a sleeve. A lock member for maintaining a constant inner diameter ofthe collet is engaged once the inner diameter of the collet is properly sized relative to the headrest rod. A method for fitting the headrest guide with the headrest rod includes sizing the inner diameter of the collet and then molding additional headrest guides so that the lock member is only functional when the inner diameter is at the desired size or within the desired range of sizes.Type: GrantFiled: December 1, 1999Date of Patent: October 2, 2001Assignee: Illinois Tool Works Inc.Inventor: Mark S.
