Of Axially Spaced Threaded Sections Patents (Class 411/288)
  • Patent number: 7182564
Abstract: A threaded ring has a single-piece body provided with an internal screw thread and two parts (1 and 3). The first part forms an adjusting ring having an end face (11) located in a radial plane. The second part (3) forms a retaining ring connected to the first part (1) of the body by an elastically flexible wall part (29) of the body forming a gap (15) between the two parts of the body (1 and 3). An actuating device (31) permits the geometry of the gap (15) to be adjusted due to the elastic flexibility of the wall element (29). The second part (3) of the body, used as a retaining ring, has a peripheral region (21) for the formation of the elastically flexible wall element (29), and has a smaller outer diameter than the first part (1). The outer diameter of the peripheral region is located on a smaller radius than the radially outer end (17) of the gap (15). The outer end of the gap, in turn, is located on a smaller radius than the periphery (19) of the first part (1) of the body.

  • Patent number: 6851905
Abstract: A self-locking threaded element that is used, for example, in a tool receptacle of a grinding tool. The self-locking threaded element comprises a retaining member (1) and a main part (3) axially disposed relative to the retaining member (1) at a distance (a) and connected with the retaining member (1) by a connection web (2). The main part (3) and the retaining member (1) are interspersed with a thread (4) for engaging a counter-thread. The retaining member (1) is displaceable relative to the main part (3), at least in the longitudinal direction (L) of the thread (4), to provide a self-locking threaded element that is inexpensive to manufacture and enables both simple tightening and loosening of the threaded element.

  • Patent number: 5795119
Abstract: An adjustable lock nut comprising a one-piece annular body having an internally threaded axial bore extending between and faces of the body and a circumferential outer face. The body has a narrow annular internal groove that opens intermediate the ends of the axial bore and extends generally radially outwardly from the axial bore. A set of radial bores extend into the body at circumferentially spaced locations with their axes disposed in a plane normal to the body axis and bisecting the internal groove and the radial bores each include an internally threaded outer end portion and a threadless conical inner end portion, configured to form semi-conical recesses in the body at opposite sides of the internal groove adjacent the internally threaded axial bore. An externally threaded screw in the outer end portion of each radial bore actuates a wedge that engages the semi-conical recesses to apply separating forces thereto.

  • Patent number: 5662445
Abstract: A compact locking nut has a body provided with a threaded bore along which the nut engages a thread so that upon rotation it will advance over a thread to a position suitable for securing and positioning a machine component such as a bearing. The nut has a machined back face along which it bears against the secured machine component and a front face at its other end. The body contains two grooves--one external in that it opens outwardly from the exterior surface and the other internal in that it opens into the bore--and these grooves divide the body into a clamping section, a locking section, and an intervening web which is thin enough to flex with relative ease. The external groove lies closest to the back face, whereas the internal groove lies closest to the front face. On its exterior the body has lands which extend out to the front face. Typically, the body derives from a forging having the lands and a bore.

  • Patent number: 5634753
Abstract: A lock nut comprising an internally threaded body having an internally threaded bore and one groove opening at the bore and a second groove opening at the outer surface, the grooves are axially spaced apart and configured to divide the body into first and second end ring portions and a thin axially relilient intermediate portion integral with the end portions. The body has a plurality of internally threaded openings extending inwardly from the outer surface and externally threaded secews threaded into the internally threaded openings and configured to wedge the end ring portions axially away from each other when the screws are threaded into the openings.
