Abstract: A memory metal optical fiber puncture needle tubing includes an optical fiber, a body tube, a metal casing and a split-shaped needle. The optical fiber has a body portion and a head portion. The head portion has a cylindrical head portion and a tapered head portion. The body tube surrounds the body portion. The metal casing is wrapped around the cylindrical head portion. The split-shaped needle is made of memory metal surrounding a periphery of the tapered head portion. The split-shaped needle has a plurality of tapered petals. When a temperature of the split-shaped needle is T0, the tapered petals are in a closed state such that the split-shaped needle is conical. When the temperature of the split-shaped needle is T1, the tapered petals are in an opened state such that the tapered head portion of the optical fiber is exposed.

The fixture is selectively separable via frangible connection elements from the anchoring mechanism for allowing the fixture to be used alone with an appropriate fastener suitable for installing the fixture to a rigid structure, such as wooden components. Abstract: An anchor assembly (A) for hollow walls comprises an anchor body (400) and a toggle member (231) that is displaceable between a first position wherein the toggle member (231) is substantially aligned with the anchor body (400) such that the anchor assembly (A) can be inserted in the wall (W) via a cutting distal end (325) of the toggle member (231), and a second position wherein the toggle member (231) extends behind the wall (W) at an angle relative to the anchor body (400) which extends through the wall (W). The toggle member (231) is held captive in the first position but is released and then rotated to the second position by a fastener (218) introduced in the anchor body (400). The fastener (218) threadably engages the toggle member (231) thereby drawing the toggle member (231) against a hidden side of the wall (W).

Abstract: A tool to assist in the removal and reassembly of a valve cap, to a cylinder includes a shaft. The first end of the shaft includes a support surface. The second end of the shaft includes threads for selectively engaging one of the threaded apertures contained in the cylinder upon removal of one of the plurality of cap bolts. The shaft is insertable through a valve cap aperture and is attachable to the cylinder, such that the support surface supports the valve cap when the valve cap is removed from the cylinder. The shaft includes a slot. A toggle is pivotally mounted within the slot and rotatable between a retracted position wherein the toggle is contained within the shaft and an extended position wherein the toggle extends beyond the shaft. The toggle is positioned in the retracted position to allow the valve cap to slide past the slot. The toggle in the extended position engages the valve cap to thereby support the valve cap during reassembly of the valve cap to the cylinder.

Abstract: A mat lock pin for releasably holding together overlapping mats has an outer body and a rotor rotatably held within the outer body. The outer body is sized and shaped so as to snugly fit within aligned holes in overlapping mats, and is shaped so as to be non-rotational within the holes. The rotor has a central stem and a foot at each end. When the mat lock pin is in place extending through holes in overlapping mats, the rotor feet are at the outermost surfaces of the mats. Rotation of the rotor brings angled surfaces on the rotor feet to bear against the outermost mat surfaces, generating an axial force forcing the mats together. The axial forces forcing the mats together are carried by the rotor, permitting the outer body to be made of relatively low strength, and low cost, material.

  • Patent number: 7752732
Abstract: A compact wall fastener (200) comprises pivotably connected proximal and distal sections where the proximal section has a through hole (205). The distal and proximal sections (220, 222, 235) preferably are flat. The distal section has a cam follower surface (251), a point (240), and a raised portion (250) that has the cam follower surface. The fastener is driven into a wallboard (600) until its proximal surface is parallel to the surface (605) of the wallboard. An activating pin or screw (615) is inserted into the entry of the fastener and forced into contact with the cam follower and then past the raised portion, forcing the distal section to bend, thereby causing the distal section to rotate downward until it is in contact with the inside surface (610) of the wallboard. The result is a secure fastener with minimal damage to the wallboard. In addition, the fastener can be used to fasten layers of delicate or easily displaced materials (1305, 1306, 1307).

Abstract: An anchor assembly having a nut which is pivotably connected to a sleeve which is slideable along a rod housing. The nut is pivotable to and from a position in vertical alignment with rod housing and a position perpendicular to the rod housing in which a threaded nut opening is in vertical alignment with a opening of the rod housing. A flange is disposed above the rod housing and a stop washer is disposed above the flange, the rod insertable within both the flange and washer. The threaded rod is insertable through the rod opening of the rod housing and threadable within the threaded opening of the nut when the nut is in a position perpendicular to the rod housing. When the nut of the anchor assembly is positioned into vertical alignment with the rod housing, the assembly can fit into a narrow hole. • Patent number: RE44016
Abstract: The present invention is a wall anchor having a novel finger configuration. This wall anchor has a head and barrel portion with a bore extending therethrough and laterally expandable fingers in general alignment with the bore. Instead of a straight channel, a channel having curved portions separates the fingers. The curved portions of the channel define ramp surfaces that at least partially extend into the path of a securing member created by the bore. Thus, when a securing member, such as a bolt, pin, screw, nail or similar object is inserted into the bore to secure the wall anchor to the wall, the securing member contacts the two ramp surfaces, separating the fingers. As the fingers separate, a portion of the fingers near the ramp surfaces deform such that the ramp surfaces rest on an outer portion of the securing member, thus providing a securing force for connecting the wall anchor to the wall and relieving stress on the area at which the fingers are connected to the barrel.
