Securing Means Pivotable About Axis Transverse To Fastener Axis, E.g., Toggle Bolt, Etc. Patents (Class 411/340)
  • Patent number: 4353661
Abstract: The furniture or equipment comprises building elements which can be combined in any desired manner as its parts, namely plug connectors, connecting pipes, toggles and plates. The positive plug connection between a connector socket of a plug connector and a pipe end of a connecting pipe of circular-cylindrical form so as to form a plug unit is secured in form locked (positive) fashion by a toggle. For inserting plates between parallel connecting pipes clamp connections are provided. The parts are also of importance by themselves.

  • Patent number: 4348790
Abstract: A locking device is disclosed for locking a brace having an opening therethrough, which comprises a bar member adapted to extend through the opening having a groove defined therein at a spaced location from a front end of the bar member which is insertable into the brace opening. A stopping piece is rotatably mounted in the groove having a hook or abutment portion at the front end thereof engageable with a front side of the groove to limit a rotation of the stopping piece in one direction, and engaging stop and projection portions at a rear end of the stopping piece. A vertical surface is defined on the engaging stop portion for abutting the brace, to lock the brace on the bar member. The projecting portion is provided to prevent an overrotation of the stopping piece.

  • Patent number: 4289062
Abstract: An expansion dowel for insertion through an opening in a structural member into a hollow space within the structural member, is formed of a shaft portion, a pair of expansion arms connected to the shaft portion and a pair of webs, each joined to one of the expansion arms and connected to one another. In the inserting position, the expansion arms and webs are folded inwardly and extend along the projection of the axis of the shaft portion. When the dowel is displaced into the expansion position, the expansion arms extend approximately perpendicularly to the axis of the shaft portion and each web is disposed at an acute angle to the expansion arm to which it is joined.

  • Patent number: 4283986
Abstract: A self-penetrating fastener assembly for anchoring in wallboard has a pointed anchor member and a threaded fastener. The anchor member has a longitudinal recess formed by semicylindrical segments which intersects an aperture that extends through the anchor. The fastener is aligned within the recess which engages the threads of the fastener, the head thereof protruding beyond the end of the anchor and the assembly is hammered into the wallboard. When the anchor clears the wallboard, the fastener is threadingly advanced into the anchor which, in turn, is drawn up against the back of the wallboard securely attaching an article thereto.

  • Patent number: 4274324
Abstract: A plastic screw anchor for fastening fixtures and other objects to a hollow wall, the anchor including a four-legged diamond-shaped shank whose front legs are joined together by a front apex living hinge and whose rear legs are joined to the front legs by side apex living hinges, the ends of the rear legs defining a rear apex. Secured by a pair of normally outstretched resilient webs to the rear legs of the shank is a flanged socket whose bore lies in registration with an opening formed in the front apex hinge. The diamond-shaped shank is collapsible to form a tongue that is insertable in a hole drilled in the wall to accommodate the socket, the webs then reverting to their outstretched condition to cause the shank which is now behind the wall to recover its diamond formation. When a self-tapping screw is turned into the socket bore, it acts to thread the bore.
