Abstract: A securing device includes a cylindrical fitting with one open end and a hole in an endwall at the opposite end. The shank of a bolt extends through the hole and is threaded into a mounting hole, e.g., a standard VESA mounting hole on a television or monitor. A no-access cap fits over the head of the bolt, and a generally bar-shaped member used to secure the television or monitor passes through a hole or holes in the side of the fitting. The bar-shaped member prevents the no-access cap from being removed from the fitting, and the no-access cap blocks access to the bolt so that the fitting cannot be removed, thereby deterring theft of the television or monitor. Suitably, a kit is provided with at least one no-access cap and at least one bolt in each of a number of different sizes, e.g., standard VESA mounting sizes.

The diameter of the cover member is moderately greater than the diameter of the screw head and the opening in which the screw head is placed. The cover member is placed by positioning a first side portion of the cover member adjacent to the opening, and then deflecting cover member downwardly in a curved position above the screw head opening, keeping the cover properly positioned. Then the person's thumb which grasps an end of the cover member is moved to release the cover member which then snaps into position to cover the opening and become bonded to the surface of the wood structure.

Abstract: An anti-theft bolt guard is shown having a cylindrical body (65) for placing over a nut (60) of an installed bolt (30). Third washer (45) engages bolt (30) and the body (65) is affixed to the bolt (30) with a threaded circular guard nut (85). The guard nut (85) is tightened with a special key (120). A fourth washer (46) engages the guard nut (85) and an adhesive (57) material may be inserted. The guard nut (85) is then sealed off with the insertion of a press fit seal cover (95) thus providing a device that prevents easy access to the nut (60) and removal of the bolt (30).Protection for the exposed head (32) of a bolt can be obtained by inserting the bolt (30) through a head guard (35) where a press fit head cover (25) is inserted in the first end (36). An adhesive (57) can be inserted to increase the difficulty of removal of the protection device.

Abstract: To make it easy to manufacture a stud 1 provided with a spherical surface bearing, a race (3) is composed of a first member (3a) and a second member (3b) so that a ball receiving portion (301) is separated. Coupling surfaces (5) and (6) that couple with each other are formed in the first and second members (3a) and (3b). Screw portions are formed on the coupling surfaces (5) and (6), respectively. When the stud (1) provided with the spherical surface bearing is manufactured, a ball (2a) is held by the first and second members formed indivisually, and the first and second members (3a) and (3b) are threadably engaged with each other at the screw portions. In this case, by adjusting an amount of a engagement at the screw portion, the positional relationship between the first and second members (3a) and (3b) is set as desired, to thereby suitably adjust a gap between the ball receiving portion (301) of the race (3) and the ball (2a).

  • Patent number: 5752795
Abstract: A cap device for covering the exposed sections of a nut and bolt assembly and preventing oxidation of those exposed sections. The cap device incudes at structure having a first end that is opened and an opposite second end that is at least partially opened. The cap structure defines a chamber in between the first end and the second end that is sized to receive a nut and a segment of a bolt that extends through the nut. The chamber inside the cap structure is at least partially filled with a viscous material that creates an air impervious seal between the cap structure and the nut and bolt assembly. As the cap structure is advanced over a nut and bolt assembly, the viscous fill material is displaced from the chamber through the second end of the cap structure. Once fully seated, a closure element is used to seal the second end of the cap structure. The presence of the closure element creates a vapor lock type of seal that helps retain the cap structure in place.
