  • Patent number: 11499671
Abstract: A bracket for hanging an item on a wall is disclosed. The bracket has one or more bracket apertures which are used to mount the bracket to the hanging item. The hanging item could be an item like a picture or a shelf. The bracket has a mounting aperture which is used to mount the hanging item on a nail or a screw. Adjacent to the mounting aperture is a pinhole having a set screw. To use the bracket the user unthreads the set screw from the pinhole opening. The user places the hanging item in its desired location on the wall and pushes the item against the wall so that the set screw marks a spot on the wall where the user should place a nail or a screw for hanging the item.

  • Patent number: 11471192
Abstract: The present application provides external bone fixation systems. The systems include one or more pairs of bone fixation platforms in the form of rings or partial rings. The platforms may be coupled to corresponding bone segments. The pair of platforms are configured to accept a plurality of struts extending therebetween. The struts are configured to attach to the platforms via joints that provide three degrees of rotation. The struts are also configured such that their longitudinal length extending between the joints/platforms can be incrementally adjusted while attached to the platforms. The struts are further configured such that their total range of length adjustment can be increased by coupling at least one add-on component to the struts in situ. The lengths of each of the plurality of struts may be adjusted to arrange the platforms, and thereby the bone segment coupled thereto, in particular relative positions and orientations.

  • Patent number: 11378112
Abstract: A bolted joint providing a “zero-clearance” fit formed from a bolt including a shoulder that works during installation to cold form a deformable sleeve. The bolted joint joins a bolt receiving member to a clamped component. One or more bolted joints may be used and as the bolts are installed, shoulders on each of the bolts dilate deformable sleeves until the outer diameters of the sleeves contact internal walls of through holes in the clamped component. Each of the deformable sleeves includes at least one groove or flute on its interior surface that results in: reduced radial load on internal walls of the clamped component and the bolt receiving members, and less friction between the sleeve and both the clamped component and a counter bore disposed within the bolt receiving member, thereby allowing for smaller percentage of the bolt's tensile strength capability required to deform the sleeve.

  • Patent number: 8387225
Abstract: Repeated inserting, tightening, loosening, and removing of external threads to internal threads can increase the likelihood of cross threading and thread damage. A spring loaded gear bolt assembly, which promotes alignment of mating threads before applying torque, is described. A spring is disposed on the back end of a bolt shaft to promote alignment of lead mating threads before twisting to engage external to internal threads. A gear chain translates a single hand rotation to thread two bolts into respective affixed internal threaded holes, simultaneously. A spring loaded gear bolt assembly and method described herein promote increased thread life and ease of use ease for test plate securing. Efficient single handed manipulation of multiple bolts simultaneously can be achieved using a test plate assembly, which included spring loaded gear bolt assemblies, as described herein. Applications of a spring loaded gear bolt include infrared adapter test plate assemblies.

Abstract: To obtain a mounting structure capable of being applied to mount an object to be mounted by absorbing a central position variation between a pin and a female mounting member in more directions. A cap pin 26 is formed with a long hole shaped male side fitting portion 36 so as to rotate in an arrow R1 direction with respect to a pin 28 and to relatively move slide in a sliding axis X2 direction. Even if a pin axis X1 of the pin 28 and a central axis X4 of a clip 24 are deviated, the cap pin 26 is rotated and slid; and accordingly, the pin 28 may be inserted and fitted to the male side insertion portion 36.

Abstract: A rapid-engaging, positive locking machine screw mechanism comprises a screw having a head and a body wherein the body includes male threads formed thereon wherein the threaded body has at least one longitudinal segment devoid of threads. A work piece defines a hole having female threads formed therein for receiving the screw and further defines in a portion of the hole, at least one longitudinally extending segment devoid of female threads. The longitudinal screw segment devoid of male threads and the longitudinal hole segment devoid of female threads are arranged such that the screw body is longitudinally received in the hole without engagement of the male screw threads with the female work piece threads. The rapid-engaging, positive locking thread configuration can be applied to a variety of mechanical interfaces. Additionally, thread locking configurations, such as a boos-depression interface, a notch and ridge, etc. can be incorporated to secure the male and female threads.

Abstract: A termination system which attaches a conventional threaded rod or bolt to a cable. An anchor is attached to an end of a cable using known techniques—such as potting. A threaded rod or bolt is placed on the anchor, pointing away from the direction of the cable. The rod or bolt is mechanically attached to the anchor using several different techniques. The result is an anchor assembly including a threaded protruding shaft. Because the assembly uses an inexpensive prior art rod or bolt, the machining operations are confined to small components needing relatively little material removal.
