The bolt temporarily fixing nut 9 is threadedly attached to the bolt 5, which is inserted through the bolt hole 3 from the bottom, and the one axial end of the nut is forcibly screwed into a gap between the bolt hole 3 and the bolt 5, thereby temporarily fixing the bolt 5 to the bolt hole 3 so as not to rotate. Thereafter, after the splice plate 2 is placed on the bottom steel plate 1, the nut 6 is fastened to the bolt 5, thereby joining the bottom steel plate 1 and a splicing plate 2. According to the invention, it is possible to prevent the bolt, which is hold in the bolt held in advance, from co-rotating at the time of nut fastening.

Abstract: The invention provides an installation tool for use with a battery operated drill or a corded electric drill for repetitive installation of caulk-in anchors. The installation tool utilizes the mechanical advantage of a threaded shaft to improve consistency of the holding reliability of the caulk-in anchor and controls the anchor setting process to insure proper installation while reducing installation time. The installation tool does not rely on bottom setting or a hammer strike to set the anchor, but can be set at a depth independent of hole depth. In one embodiment, the tool can be used with a through hole in the substrate and uses a combination of a threaded shaft and a controlled sensing spring to insure a more uniform installation of the anchor within the substrate across the entire length of the sleeve portion of the anchor, along with a visual check of proper setting of the anchor.

Abstract: A self-anchoring fastening device for installation in supports for hanging pipes wires or other articles in ceilings is shaped for a socket to drive the device for an easy installation process. The device comprises a collapsible anchoring portion having radially expanding anchoring strips, which will not pull out of a hole drilled in a support. A drill drills a hole in a support and an expandable anchor is inserted through the hole. Threads internal to the expandable anchor cooperate with threads on a screw inserted therein to collapse the expandable anchor, providing anchoring strips over the hole such that the expandable anchor cannot be pulled out of the hole. A threaded portion of the base of the screw is suitable for attaching the article to be hung. The base may be a swivel head type. The drill may be on the expendable anchor assembly.

Abstract: An expansion bolt includes a sleeve in which a central bore is defined, comprising a rear inner-threaded section and a front tapering section. Radial slits are defined in a front end portion of the sleeve and partially in communication with the tapering bore to form a plurality of deformable pawls. At least one spherical member is received in the tapering bore and has a diameter greater than a smallest diameter of the tapering bore whereby the spherical member is effectively retained in the tapering bore. A driving member having external threading is threadingly received in the threaded bore for axially engaging the spherical member. By screwing the driving member, the spherical member is forced toward the front end of the sleeve and due to the tapering configuration of the tapering bore, the movement of the spherical member toward the front end of the sleeve forces the pawls to deform outward in a radial direction thereby securing the expansion bolt in a hole defined in for example a wall.
