The fastener includes a first portion with branches. Each of the branches of the first portion of the fastener include an arc-shaped end surface. The fastener includes a threaded portion. The fastener includes a flange portion positioned intermediate the first portion and the threaded portion. The ornamental piece of wood includes an aperture therein. The threaded portion of the fastener is threaded into the aperture in the ornamental piece of wood. The flange of the fastener engages the ornamental piece of wood. The furniture substrate includes a slot therein. The first portion of the fastener interengages the slot in the furniture substrate securing the ornamental piece of wood to the furniture substrate. The first portion of the fastener is slidable with respect to the slot positioning the ornamental piece of wood with respect to the furniture substrate.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 18, 2009Publication date: May 19, 2011Inventor: STEPHEN SELLE

Publication number: 20110076109Abstract: Blind fasteners and methods of manufacture. The blind fasteners each have a sleeve with a sleeve head thereon and a stem having a stem head thereon. The stem extends through the sleeve from an end of the sleeve opposite the sleeve head with the stem head adjacent the end of the sleeve opposite the sleeve head. The sleeve has a non-uniform wall thickness to cause the sleeve to buckle outward against a blind side surface of a work piece to form a blind side head when the stem is pulled relative to the sleeve head to set the fastener in a work piece, the work piece having a thickness which may range from a predetermined minimum grip to a predetermined maximum grip. Various embodiments are disclosed.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 24, 2010Publication date: March 31, 2011Applicant: ALLFAST FASTENING SYSTEMS, INC.Inventor: Paul A. Keller

Publication number: 20100284760Abstract: A fastener for use for attaching metal parts has a socket member and a stud member slidably and fixedly received therein. A flair portion on the socket member expands when abutted by a camming portion on the stud member to move the fastener between unlocked and locked positions. The head of the stud member includes a beveled edge which complementarily fits against a bevel abutment within the socket head. The bevel abutment extracts the stud member from the locked position by turning the stud member in either axial direction to ramp the stud member out of the socket member.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 8, 2009Publication date: November 11, 2010Applicant: E-B DISPLAY COMPANY, INC.Inventors: Michael S. Patent number: 7752944Abstract: Objects of the present invention provide a multi-use anchor and system for setting the same. One embodiment of the present invention is directed to a multi-use anchor including a bolt, an elastomeric sleeve fitting over a threaded portion of the bolt, and a receiver arranged to couple to the bolt, where tightening the receiver on the bolt compresses the elastomeric sleeve such that the sleeve radially expands to engage a hole in rigid substrate material.Type: GrantFiled: January 17, 2008Date of Patent: July 13, 2010Inventor: Thomas Allan Wallek

Patent number: RE44016Abstract: The present invention is a wall anchor having a novel finger configuration. This wall anchor has a head and barrel portion with a bore extending therethrough and laterally expandable fingers in general alignment with the bore. Instead of a straight channel, a channel having curved portions separates the fingers. The curved portions of the channel define ramp surfaces that at least partially extend into the path of a securing member created by the bore. Thus, when a securing member, such as a bolt, pin, screw, nail or similar object is inserted into the bore to secure the wall anchor to the wall, the securing member contacts the two ramp surfaces, separating the fingers. As the fingers separate, a portion of the fingers near the ramp surfaces deform such that the ramp surfaces rest on an outer portion of the securing member, thus providing a securing force for connecting the wall anchor to the wall and relieving stress on the area at which the fingers are connected to the barrel.Type: GrantFiled: December 16, 2004Date of Patent: February 19, 2013Assignee: Clairson, Inc.Inventor: Lee E.
