Abstract: A lug nut locking device, which provides a visual indication of loosening of one of a pair of adjacent nuts includes a locking strip for extending between the nuts, rings on the ends of the strip for mounting the strip on the nuts, teeth in the rings for resisting nut loosening; and a pair of flags with annular bodies for mounting on the nuts beneath the strip, the flag bodies having internal teeth for engaging the nuts, whereby rotation of one of the nuts causes corresponding rotation of its associated flag providing a visual indication that the nut is loosening.
Abstract: A wheel lug nut locking device having first and second planar sections, each with an opening adapted to be fitted around a wheel lug nut. The planar sections are connected by a flexible section that allows the planar sections to be moved relative to one another. In a preferred embodiment, the flexible section has a concertina-like structure. In use, the locking device is used to lock a wheel lug nut to an adjacent wheel lug nut, so as to prevent or reduce rotation of the wheel lug nut. A plurality of locking devices can be fitted to a single wheel so that all of the lug nuts are operatively locked to an adjacent lug nut. The resulting locking system can be rapidly installed on each lug nut on all wheels, so as to provide improved safety aspects.
Abstract: A screw retention device is disclosed for maintaining at least a pair of screws in a substantially static position. The screw retention device preferably includes at least two clamping portions, each clamping portion defining a recess therein for receiving and securely retaining a screw. The clamping portions include a serrated surface extending circumferentially around an inside periphery of the clamping portion, surrounding the recess. The serrated surface of the clamping portion corresponds to and engages with a serrated surface on the screw to retain the screw. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the screw retention device is press fitted onto the screws.
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a device capable of being attached to a metal roof comprises a substantially perpendicular seam. The device comprises a block. A groove is located in the base of the block, and the block is locatable on the roof by placement of the groove on the seam. There are two embodiments for securing the block to the seam. In the first embodiment, a threaded hole is located in the block between the first side wall and the groove, and a cavity is located in the groove diametrical to the threaded hole. A set screw is locatable in the threaded hole. The set screw has an opening at its terminal end for receiving an element having a curved surface, the element protruding therefrom and pivotable therewithin. Driving the set screw into the hole causes the curved surface of the element to engage the seam, driving the seam towards the cavity of the groove diametric thereto, thereby forming a pocket in the seam, and securing the block to the seam.
Abstract: An anti-rotation locking device for threaded fasteners which secure rotating parts subject to vibration, shock and the like. The device comprises a strap member and one or more retainer members. The strap member is positioned under the fasteners and the retainer members each have a toothed opening which is installed over the matching wrenching surface of the fastener. Each retainer member also has an arcuate slot which is positioned above an arcuate tang on the strap member. The tang is lifted, passed through the slot, bent about the bottom of the slot and folded back over the top surface of the retainer member to thereby restrain the loosening of the fastener.

Abstract: A retainer is provided for holding at least two valve rocker trunnions in predetermined, fixed relationship prior to and during installation in a diesel engine assembly. The retainer is an elongated strip arcuate in cross-section and provided with shoulders. At least two cut-out sections provided with pairs of opposing spring members are adapted to receive the trunnions in an interference fit and hold them in fixed relationship while the retainer and trunnions are installed in the engine. Means are provided for holding the retainer in position on the engine assembly during installation.
