Latch Release Patents (Class 414/645)
  • Patent number: 6113340
Abstract: An automatic debris removal system for use in combination with a pre-existing construction hoist of the type including a plurality of telescoping extension members. Such a hoist includes a carriage device which traverses the extended hoist by means of a cable/winch mechanism that is an integral component of the hoist. The present debris removal system includes a tilting dumpster or bucket which is mechanically coupled to the carriage device and is transportable from ground level to the roof under construction for carrying debris and other materials. The present system includes a detachable chute device which is attached at the base of hoist to receive debris from the dumpster which is conducted by gravity to a dump truck for disposal. The present system also includes an automatic release mechanism for dumping the contents of the bucket as it contacts the chute at the lowermost position of its travel.

  • Patent number: 5951230
Abstract: A self dumping hopper includes a base; a container having a pair of runners sized and configured to enable the container to rock upon the base, along a path and between a non-dumping rest position and a rearwardly angled dumping position; a guide assembly connected to either the base or the container, the guide assembly defining at least one guide path opening and being for engaging with a guide pin to restrain the container to rock within a desired path; at least one guide pin connected to the other of the base and the container and positioned to extend into and follow the at least one guide path opening; and, a latch mechanism connected to the base and container for releasable holding the container in the rest position, the latch mechanism having latched and unlatched positions and having a biasing assembly for urging the latch mechanism to the unlatched position when in the unlatched position.

  • Patent number: 4475758
Abstract: A lifting fork intended to be suspended from a lifting member, e.g. a lifting hook (4) of a hoisting crane, and which includes forks (2), a lifting shank (3) to which a movable attachment (7,11,14) for the lifting hook (4) is attached, and a connecting bar (5) extending between the forks and the lifting shank. In order to facilitate the withdrawal of the forks (2) from the load the point of action of the lifting force at the lifting fork by moving the attachment (7,11,14) is movable from the position at the lifting shank (3) to a position close to the rear end of the forks (2). This can be achieved in many ways, i.e. by means of the attachment (7,11,14) being displaceable from the lifting shank (3) down along the connecting bar (5) or by the connecting bar (5) or a part thereof possibly together with the lifting shank being pivotable backwards - downwards.
