A method of recovering energy from automotive vehicles includes embedding the electricity generation system in the roadway and routing traffic flow over the treadle array such that the traffic flow repeatedly depresses the treadle stave. The depressed treadle stave actuates the generator to produce electricity. The hydraulic cylinder returns the treadle stave to its at-rest position.

The longitudinal strength of the housing is increased by providing a cone-shaped outer wall having a scalloped inner surface. The conical shape enhances the housing's resistance to longitudinal forces applied to the diaphragm. The cusps of the scalloped shape provide wall support ribs and locations for assembly screws, while increasing the interior volume and reducing the pump weight.

A medical grade air compressor provides medical grade air for output by the valve, the medical grade air compressor being positioned within the housing on a side of the at least one aperture opposite the valve. The air passes over and around the medical grade air compressor to reduce a temperature of the medical grade air compressor and to the medical grade air compressor for generating medical grade air.

    Abstract: An actuating device for an adjustable convertible top system of a motor vehicle includes at least two hydraulic drive cylinders. The motor, first stage compressor, and pump may be co-axially aligned. Booster vessels store compressed gas to augment the system's compressed gas delivery flow rate when desired. The booster vessels may be recharged with compressed gas when the system is not delivering gas to a user. Hydraulic liquid may be pumped into and out of the booster vessels during booster vessel discharge and recharge, respectively, to maintain a desired pressure within the vessels.

    Abstract: If a hydraulic system has several modes of operation, in particular a mode with a high pressure demand (II) and a mode with a high fluid flow demand (II), the hydraulic fluid pump has to be built with an accordingly high fluid flow output. Such a pump is expensive. Therefore it is suggested, to provide two pumps. I.e. a controllable main pump (2) is provided, which supplies the hydraulic consumer (6) during phases (I) of high pressure demand. During phases (II) of high fluid flow demand, normally, relatively low pressures are sufficient. Therefore, it is suggested to provide a parallel boost pump (9), which supplies the hydraulic consumer (6) in addition to the high pressure pump (2), if a high fluid flow is needed. Excess fluid flow output is avoided by controlling the fluid output flow of main pump 2.
