  • Patent number: 8915722
Abstract: Tapered valve guide and spring retainer assemblies are described for use in plunger pump housings that incorporate corresponding outwardly flared discharge and suction bores, as well as structural features for stress-relief. Plunger pumps so constructed are relatively resistant to fatigue failure because of stress reductions, and they may incorporate essentially any style of valves, including top and lower stem-guided valves and crow-foot-guided valves, in easily-maintained configurations. Besides forming a part of valve guide and spring retainer assemblies, side spacers may be shaped and dimensioned to improve volumetric efficiency of the pumps in which they are used. The present disclosure provides, for the first time, the use of tungsten carbide valve seats, which significantly increase durability and service life of a pump, especially when abrasive fluids are being pumped, as in various oilfield operations.

Abstract: In a pump apparatus of the present invention, a portion of fluid sent to a fluid-sending destination is circulated to a pumping driving chamber on one side of a cylinder through a circulation passage. The pump apparatus includes a switching valve which switches inflow and outflow of the circulated fluid with respect to the pumping driving chamber. The switching valve is connected to a piston rod through a link mechanism, and mechanically carries out the switching operation using a pumping driving force.

Abstract: An air compressor assembly includes a compressor housing, an intake port defined by the compressor housing for intake of the air, and a plurality of guide contours disposed adjacent to the intake port. The guide contours include between three and six strips. A valve unit is disposed adjacent to the intake port, the valve unit comprising a closing element that assumes an opened position during operation and a closed position when in a switched-off state. The closing element is plate-shaped, is axially movable, and is guided by the plurality of guide contours between the opened position and the closed position. A stroke limitation element is provided to limit axial movement of the closing element in the opened position. A spring is disposed between the closing element and the stroke limitation element. Abstract: A volumetric pump comprises at least one piston inside a cylindrical housing and means to cause a relative to-and-fro linear movement between the cylindrical housing and the piston in order to produce a stroke of the volumetric pump. This pump further comprises a bi-directional angular rotatable disc acting as a valve which connects alternately at least one inlet port and at least one outlet port to a least one pump chamber located inside the housing, and a driving mechanism arranged to dissociate at least partially the bi-directional angular movement of the rotatable disc with the to-and-fro linear movement of the housing. This driving mechanism is arranged such that the rotatable disc reaches an angular position at which it opens and/or closes the inlet and/or outlet ports when there is no relative to-and-fro linear movement between the cylindrical housing and the piston.

Abstract: A pump element includes a pump element housing defining a pump chamber having an inlet and an outlet, and at least a first movable element movable in the pump chamber between a first and a second position. During a movement of the first movable element in the direction from the first to the second position, a flow resistance of a flow path from the first movable element through the inlet is larger than a flow resistance of a flow path between the pump element housing and the first movable element. During a movement of the first movable element in the direction from the second position to the first position, a flow resistance of a flow path from the first movable element through the outlet is smaller than a flow resistance of the flow path between the pump element housing and the first movable element. Thus, during a reciprocating movement of the first movable element between the first and the second position, a net flow through the outlet takes place.

Abstract: A double disc pump includes a stationary main pump housing block that can remain fixed to its supporting frame while all other parts of the pump are removed for servicing. This permits disassembly of the pump without disconnecting the inlet or outlet plumbing and is provided by a pump housing which is vertically divided along parallel horizontal planes into housing segments. An intermediate housing segment is hingedly mounted to the main block segment. A bottom housing segment is hingedly mounted to the intermediate housing segment. These three segments capture all of the internal parts of the pump including the suction and discharge discs and the trunnion seals. The hinged design of the segments allows them to conveniently swing away from other parts of the housing so that access to the internal structures can be accomplished without completely removing each segment.
