  • Patent number: 4149834
Abstract: A delivery valve, especially for a rotary piston compressor, which valve is adapted to be inserted into an opening provided in the compressor housing and extending substantially parallel to the axis of the compressor housing. The compressor housing has a bore in which is fitted a sleeve which has tangentially directed valve slots and forms a valve seat. The sleeve surrounds a member which over its entire length has an approximately horseshoe shape. That portion of the horseshoe shaped part which is located opposite the open side thereof faces toward the valve slots and has a greater bending radius than the sleeve. The free ends of the horseshoe shaped part which define the open side of the horseshoe shaped part are bent back toward the outside of this part while the lateral flanks of the horseshoe part bear against the sleeve.

  • Patent number: 3993418
Abstract: A fluid-pressure operated actuator arrangement has a double-acting actuator device and a control valve. A three-element differential mechanism has two of its elements respectively drivingly connected to the control valve and the actuator device, and a third element resiliently coupled to an input lever. The input lever is frictionally restrained against movement. Relative movement between the lever and the third element, induced as a result of jamming the control valve, brakes the third element, increasing a torque which can be applied by the actuator device to the valve.

  • Patent number: 3981647
Abstract: A pneumatic vane motor comprising a cylinder and a vane carrying rotor. The vanes are reciprocably guided in radial slots in the rotor, which slots have a width exceeding the thickness of the vanes. For preventing the vanes from seating flatly on the slot walls they are provided with projection protruding from their both faces at a distance from their inner edges. Thereby, the projections are protected from wear as the vanes, during load transmission to the rotor, reciprocate in the slots.

  • Patent number: 3963391
Abstract: A method and apparatus for controlling speed and torque of hand held air driven vane type motors is available in several embodiments. For example, one embodiment is used in tool and die work and another embodiment is used in dental work. In reference to the latter, a foot operated control regulates the speed of an air driven handpiece, driving in turn various tools such as cutters and drills as they are generally used in a dental laboratory, by regulating the flow of compressed air both to and from the handpiece. Application of an operator's foot pressure on a floor level foot control, simultaneously depresses two valves which control the flow of compressed air. One valve controls the flow of compressed air from its source to the handpiece, and one valve controls the release into the atmosphere of compressed air from the handpiece.

  • Patent number: 3941526
Abstract: A rotary combustion engine having a completely die cast aluminum housing assembly wherein one of two end housings is rigidly secured and sealed to one open end of an outer barrel housing in which either one rotor housing or two or more rotor housings separated by an intermediate housing are radially confined. The other end housing is secured and sealed to the other open end of the outer housing to clamp the radially confined housing or housings with a predetermined load within the tolerance stack-up of the clamped parts. With this arrangement the outer housing grows with the clamped parts in the axial direction as a result of heat expansion during engine operation to prevent an excessive change in the clamp load while good sealing is maintained.
